Sorry, I meant judge me for watching it so much later than it debuted on air.

I got that free trial offer for Hulu for a month (and HBO Max, but only for a week) and I am pretty much bingeing all this shows while I have access. I think it might also be on Netflix which I have access to, but oh well.

It's a well done series and, actually I read the original source material years ago (the biography, written by Sam Wasson, which, ironically, I briefly made a post about on this message board), which I found very compelling. I had read Paddy Chayefsky's biography, which talks about his close friendship with Bob Fosse, so that intrigued me and led me to read the Wasson biography of Fosse. I guess, I should have been reading Neil Simon's biography next to complete the set.

Another very interesting factoid, Valerie Pettiford (AW, OLTL) was a choreography consultant for this series. In a nod to her presence, one of the dancers in the series bore an obvious resemblance to her. The series was well casted and written, imo.

I didn't mean to suggest that the series was low-caliber, or anything, only that I have waited so long to watch it, long past the buzz.

Also, Michelle Williams was so good and probably could have played Lucille Ball, instead of Nicole Kidman.  IJS.

Anna Kathryn Holbrook (ex-Sharlene Frame Hudson - Another World) and Ashley Williams (ex-Dani - As The World Turns) starred in a Hallmark Christmas Movie that aired this past weekend called Sister Swap. Also in the movie is Ashley's Real Life sister Kimberly Williams Paisley.

@DramatistDreamer Valarie worked with Fosse in the Broadway show Big Deal and was the original star of the Broadway musical review, Fosse. She has a great deal of experience with his choreography.

I also loved Fosse/Verdon. I was working on a touring production down in North Carolina when it aired. F/X would repeat the new episodes like two times a night and I’d watch over and over again.

Oh yeah, I knew about her, I just thought it was cool that there was a look-alike actress/dancer that was meant to be her. The actress who portrayed Chita Rivera was quite good too.

I read the original source material a few years ago, so I recognized quite a few scenes in there from the biography. The actor who played Paddy Chayefsky portrayed him pretty much how he comes off in his biography. That wryly dark Bronx-onian sense of humor.

This season on The Blacklist, Valarie Pettiford (ex-Sheila Price Gannon, ONE LIFE TO LIVE) is recurring with a role that she previously guest stinted in, Charlene Cooper, regular Harold Cooper (Harry Lennix)'s wife.   Karina Arroyavé (ex-Bianca Walsh, ATWT) is recurring this season as well, as Red Reddington's assistant/lover, Mierce Xiu.

Michael Mealor (ex-Kyle Abbott, Y&R) guest starred on It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia.

Billie Eilish hosted SNL tonight (she did a pretty good job), and during her monologue, had her mother, Maggie Baird (ex-Taylor, ATWT) come onstage with her. Her mother and father also introduced her first performance.

    • Do we believe that Jabot is at the level of Estee Lauder?? I am on board with Jabot deciding to expand but the way it was handled was ridiculous. Jabot just decided and bingo, that was that. Not months of negotiations and decisions about how it would fit into the Jabot portfolio. And then no follow through. Josh thinks he's serving business stories by characters sitting around and discussing mergers, takeovers and job switching. Now we have Audra setting up her own company -Vibrator or something. Well, why not? You don't need staff, office space or even products.
    • He a dirty dog! Those are his kids and he hurt everyone. At this point he needed to just come clean. I can't believe I was lusting over this man! I hope they aren't quick to forgive.
    • The way I took it is that he did not want to confirm or deny anything until he talked to Nicole first. He was very calculated with the wording he used with Martin and Kat
    • I still see Alfonso Ribeiro as Carlton when Martin gets angry.
    • Not that I want to defend Y&R's writers, but it's not as absurd as you'd think and I believe they plucked it from reality (and then bungled it). The Estee Lauder Companies purchased Tom Ford's brand several years ago and I am willing to bet that's how Jabot came to buy Marchetti.
    • Loved the episode today. looking forward to the fallout. Nubian-Sheila looked fantastic, but I wish the writers would cut back on her overuse of figurative language. I loved the "fix yo mind ministries" line though. The background music during her fantasy confrontation with Nicole was epic.
    • Nothing makes sense on this show. I wish there was a garbage can emoji. That sums up 90% of the show right now.

Jane Wyman return episode was head-to-head w/ Cheers season 8 finale. Falcon Crest broadcast syndication began Fall 1986, which overlapped w/ Oprah going national. AFAIK cable broadcasts were Lifetime and Soapnet. I have no memory of cable broadcasts on TBS, TNT, TNN, E!, FX.
    • After today’s rushed and abrupt exit for Summer I immediately realized that Josh & Co. were very blindsided by AL’s decision to leave.  Not the first time this has happened to JG either; see MM & HK’s exits in 2021, MM’s exit in 2022, and of course TSJ’s exit last year. Obviously JG and our executive in charge of nothing Steve Kent don’t have a good handle on casting disruptions. And Mariah having an offscreen affair is [!@#$%^&*] ridiculous!! Meanwhile Tessa’s blonde hair is overkill with the number of blondes on the show already. I said the same thing 3 years ago…of course it was utterly ridiculous everyone was mad at Sally for getting Summer he dream job (don’t ask lol) but there was so much the show could have done without bringing on the Marchetti angle.
