I saw an old episode of The Facts Of Life and saw the boy Jo was studying/going out with was played by Shawn Stevens. I looked him up ( I look up just about every actor on old shows to see what their up to now) and found a recent article about him. He is a Mormon and talked about his career and how he left it behind in the late 80's. He said he was interested in coming back to acting. He has grown children and grand children now. He has a you tube page where he has posted some of his work including 2 segments of when he was on DOOL circa 1982.

I never watched Days (was always a Y&R/CBS soap watcher), but the clips had him arguing with his sister who appeared to be some sort of a trouble maker. She was calling his character Oliver. What was the storyline about and was it short lived ?

Yes, his character was Oliver and was never developed. He worked with the original Melissa (Debbie Lytton). The writers made Gwen his sister. She was getting involved with Don and it was revealed she was sleeping out of her office. The cleaning woman was revealed to be her mother Esther.Hot shot singer Woody King was another brother, and the family had splintered due to trying to escape their criminal dad Orby Jensen. It seemed like a desperate move to tie these characters together and was never followed through.

According to Jason's page Oliver was on 31 times in 82 and 43 times in 83 which is quite a bit but I can't recall in what context.

Your right, it was one clip. I thought it was two since they were different scenes strung together. The other clips listed are from his other TV appearances. That clip from that movie he did with Jennifer Jason Leigh in a bad wig is 80's after school specials at it's campiest.

Thanks for the info. Gwen sleeping in her office sounds off the wall and the entire plot complicated. I figured he was short lived since he didn't have a whole lot from DOOL posted. I mainly remember him being one of those teen stars that made the guest rounds like Clark Brandon and Greg Bradford who's careers were short lived and now long forgotten.

In the season premiere of The Revolution -- one month ago now -- a character hooked up with the show's heroine after serving her drinks in a bar. The actor seemed so familiar to me, but I couldn't place him. I just realized that it was Blake Hood (ex-Kyle, Y&&R). I only saw him a few times, but he seemed to look quite different on The Revolution:

3 Day Christmas Also Known As: 3 Day Test is set to premiere on UP TV on November 22, 2013

Writer/Director Corbin Bernsen (25 Hill, Rust) presents a fun-filled family comedy starring George Newbern (Father of the Bride movies), Megyn Price (Rules of Engagement), and Taylor Spreitler (Days of our Lives).

Martin Taylor has totally lost touch with his family. He has no clue who his teenage daughter's friends are, why his son only communicates with an electronic sign outside his bedroom door, or why his youngest child only watches faith TV. Convinced the family needs to reconnect, Martin surprises the wife and kids with a little experiment-he locks them in their own home with no power, no heat, no running water, and absolutely no contact with the world outside! The sudden holiday staycation isn't what the Taylors had in mind for the weekend, but they'll have to team up to prove they can survive Dad's wacky mission. With a heartfelt message and some persistence, one little member of the family helps put their priorities back in the pews, because they'll need all the faith they have to get through this!

    • Am I remembering correctly that the Madison's lived in a Spanish revival-style house? I have a vague recollection of the fireplace looking especially Spanish in style. It is unusual that Montecello had so many architectural styles.  Obviously, that might occur IRL.  But, look at other east coast soaps and there is a definitive style that is throughout (because it was styled by a set decorator) regardless of the income of the occupants.
    • @kalbir MSW was a powerhouse for CBS. Angela Lansbury was a superb actress. In 1985, TV viewers were tiring of the primetime soaps and the like. People wanted storytelling and MSW was great at that and had great guest stars. Storytelling -- an amazing and novel concept. CBS Daytime by 1985 was beating ABC so CBS was on the upswing.
    • I'd say just the opposite - conflict means they will find out and then be at odds. For the limited amount of time people on this show have conflict (if they aren't named Nina or Ric, I guess).
    • Totes mcgoats (aka I agree). But, now the character needs to move forward.  Clyde's exit was 12/11/24.  It is May.  She and Chad have been on one date. I don't think they've slept together. And she was only planning on sticking around for a year.
    • That is one of the best insults I've heard in a long time.  I burst out laughing when Kat called Eva that.  LOL Their scenes, of course, were really good.  Colby and Ambyr have so much chemistry.  The only thing I'd change is Kat saying "you're dead to me."  That's a phrase usually said about someone you care about.  I would've preferred something like "You will never be my sister," or something similar to that.  Nice contrast at the end with both mothers/daughters:  Kat comforting/consoling her mother, and Eva being locked out by her mother.  Yeah, I wasn't a big of fan of the singing either, especially after your daughter's life has been destroyed.  What?  LOL And I also agree with those that thought Dana/Leslie's scenes with the Dupree's didn't feel right since Eva is not a Dupree....unless she is.  But as of right now, she's not.
    • Trisha Mann-Grant, Ambyr Michelle, Sean Freeman are destined for bigger and better things. They need to move on as soon as their initial contracts are done.
    • Daphnée Duplaix and Trisha Mann-Grant on Instagram live, 5/5/2025 just concluded, saved here https://www.instagram.com/p/DJSsYb7PDv8/
    • I really need to see Anita in a scene that isn't with a family member. In fact, I would have preferred that she would have gotten rid of the mob and had a one on one with Leslie to lay down the law with her.  I'm going to say it, Mike Manning has been completely lifeless on this show. Other than people's superficial fondness for him, I don't get what they see in him as an actor. I never saw him on DAYS though. The show had another really strange cut right before the opening credits where it looked like they almost cut off Nicole mid-sentence.  Kat/Eva are carrying this show on their backs. Lock them in for lifetime contracts, I beg.
    • There's a 1980 scene of Victor and Katherine in the Chancellor Estate living room where they went over a contract that would put Victor in charge of Chancellor Industries, but it was rewritten that Katherine brought Victor to Genoa City so he could run Chancellor Industries.
    • Put me in the minority in being happy about Cat not being Abby. After the two adult recasts played tag with the role, it's time for a few years of rest. I have a huge list of things I hate about RC's writing, but that choice was not one of them.
