Members soapfan770
I found this list going through old archives of mine. Originally if I recall right, a fellow poster and I over the old defunct WOST site wanted to compile a list of CBS stations airing GL at 10am at that time. Through the course of it, others chimed about their local ABC/CBS/NBC station airing the soaps out of order or not fitting the norm schedule quite right. One of these included my own CBS station KRQE. Here's that list, compiled back in August 2006: Alaska- KTNL-13 Sitka CBS 10AM Y&R 11:30 B&B 12PM ATWT 1PM GL Arkansas- KARK-4 Little Rock NBC 12:30PM Days 1:30PM Passions California KCBS-2 LA CBS 11:30AM Y&R 12:30PM B&B 1:00 PM ATWT 2:00 PM GL KFMB-8 San Diego CBS 9:30AM B&B 11AM: Y&R 1PM: ATWT 2PM: GL KOVR-13 Sacramento CBS --Station does not air GL-- Colorado KMGH-7 Denver(ABC) 12PM: AMC 1PM: GH 2PM: OLTL KKTV-11 Colorado Springs(CBS) 11AM: ATWT 12:30PM: B&B 1PM: GL 2PM: Y&R KREX-5 Grand Junction(CBS) 9AM: TPIR 10AM: Y&R 12:30PM B&B 1PM: GL 2PM: ATWT KRDO-11 Colorado Springs(ABC) 11AM: AMC 12PM: OLTL 1PM: GH 2PM: The View KJCT-8 Grand Juction(ABC) 11AM: AMC 12PM: OLTL 1PM: GH 2PM: The View Florida WFOR-4 Miami(CBS) 10AM: GL 12:30Y&R 1:30 B&B 2PM: ATWT WKMG-6 Orlando(CBS) 10AM: GL 12:30Y&R 1:30 B&B 2PM: ATWT WINK-11 Fort Myers(CBS) 10:30AM B&B 1PM: Y&R 2PM: ATWT 3PM: GL Georgia WTOC-11 Savannah(CBS) 12:30PM: Y&R 1:30PM: B&B 2PM: ATWT 3PM: Montel Williams 4PM: GL Hawaii KGMB-9 Honolulu(CBS) 11:30AM: B&B 12PM: GL 1PM: Y&R 2PM: ATWT Idaho KBCI-2 Boise(CBS) 9AM: TPIR 10AM: Y&R 12:30PM B&B 1PM: ATWT 2PM: GL KIVI-6 Boise(ABC) 11AM: AMC 12PM: OLTL 1PM: GH KIFI-8 Pocatello(CBS) 9AM: TPIR 10AM: Y&R 12:30PM B&B 1PM: GL 2PM: ATWT KIDK-3 Pocatello(ABC) 11AM: AMC 12PM: OLTL 1PM: GH KMVT-11 Twin Falls(CBS) 9AM: TPIR 10AM: Y&R 11:30AM B&B 1PM: GL 2PM: ATWT Illinois WBBM-2 Chicago(CBS) 10AM: GL 12:30Y&R 1:30 B&B 2PM: ATWT Indiana WTHR-13 Indianapolis(NBC) 11AM: Passions 1PM: Days WANE-15 Fort Wayne(CBS) 10AM: GL 12:30Y&R 1:30 B&B 2PM: ATWT WSBT-22 South Bend(CBS) 9AM: GL 12:30Y&R 1:30 B&B 2PM: ATWT Iowa KWWL-7 Cedar Rapids(NBC) 10AM: Passions 4PM: Days KITV-4 Sioux City(NBC) 12:30PM: Days 1:30PM: Passions Kentucky WKYT-27 Lexington 9AM: Y&R 1:30PM: B&B 2PM: ATWT 3PM: GL WLKY-32 Louisville 1:30PM: B&B 2PM: ATWT 3PM: GL 4PM: Y&R Louisianna WAFB-9 Baton Rogue 12:30PM: B&B 1PM: ATWT 2PM: GL 4PM: Y&R Maine WGME-13 Portland 9AM: GL 12:30Y&R 1:30 B&B 2PM: ATWT Massachusetts WBZ-4 Boston 10AM: GL 12:30Y&R 1:30 B&B 2PM: ATWT Michigan WNEM-5 Flint --Station does not air GL, airs on local MyNetTV at 10AM instead-- WWJ-62 Detroit 10AM: GL 12:30Y&R 1:30 B&B 2PM: ATWT Missouri KOLR-10 Springfield 11:30AM Y&R 12:30PM B&B 1:00 PM ATWT 2:00 PM GL KMOV-4 St. Louis 12:30PM: B&B 1PM: ATWT 2PM: GL 4PM: Y&R Montana KTVQ-2 Billings 10AM: Y&R 11AM: ATWT 12:30PM: B&B 1PM: GL 2PM: TPIR KXLF-4 Butte 10AM: Y&R 11AM: ATWT 12:30PM: B&B 1PM: GL 2PM: TPIR KXGN-5 Glendive 10AM: Y&R 11AM: ATWT 12:30PM: B&B 1PM: GL 2PM: Passions 3PM: Days KPAX-8 Missoula 10AM: Y&R 11AM: ATWT 12:30PM: B&B 1PM: GL 2PM: TPIR KRTV-3 Great Falls 9AM: TPIR 10AM: Y&R 11AM: ATWT 12:30PM: B&B 1PM: GL New Mexico KRQE-13 Albuquerque 10AM: ATWT 11AM: TPIR 12:30PM: B&B 1PM: Y&R 2PM: GL New York WCBS-2 New York City 10AM: GL 12:30Y&R 1:30 B&B 2PM: ATWT WRGB-Albany 10AM: GL 12:30Y&R 1:30 B&B 2PM: ATWT North Carolina WRAL-5 Raleigh 1:30PM B&B 2PM: ATWT 3PM: GL 4PM: Y&R Oklahoma KOTV-6 Tulsa --station airs B&B at 12:35am overnights) Pennsylvania KYW-3 Philadelphia 10AM: GL 12:30Y&R 1:30 B&B 2PM: ATWT WYOU-22 Scranton-Wilkes-Barre 10AM: GL 12:30Y&R 1:30 B&B 2PM: ATWT South Dakota KOTA-3 Rapid City 11AM: AMC 1PM: GH 2PM: OLTL Tennessee WTVF-5 CBS Nashville: 11:30AM: Y&R 1:30PM: B&B 2PM: GL 3PM: ATWT Texas KTVT-11 Dallas 11:30AM Y&R 12:30PM B&B 1:00 PM ATWT 2:00 PM GL KBCD-11 Lubbock 12:30 Days 1:30 Passions KIVA-7 El Paso 11AM: AMC 1PM: GH 2PM: OLTL Utah KUTV-2 Salt Lake City 9AM: TPIR 10AM: Y&R 11AM: ATWT 1PM: GL 2PM: B&B

Members soapfan770
No problem. With only four soaps left hanging on life support it seems pointless too look over but back then it was a lot more interesting. I'm also glad we have Zap2it and TitanTV instead of collecting 150 regional editions of TV Guide(remember those days?) There was a method to this madness. In the cases of Y&R airing at 4PM, it was because Y&R proved to be viable competition against Oprah in those markets.
Members BingCherry
A lot of stations in the central time zones used to air AMC at 11am for the longest time until (I believe) 2006; though the Dallas ABC station continued with the 11am showings for a long time after. For a lot of the late '80s/early '90s, Milwaukee had a lot of soaps airing at odd times; the CBS affiliate (which is now a FOX station) aired Y&R at 9am and the ABC station aired AMC at 10am. I need to dig this up, but I read a '95 article in Variety about how ABC refused to let their then-new Tampa Bay affiliate move GH back an hour to 4pm. Members EricMontreal22
I know it's been explained, but I still find it odd how PST and EST primetime shows correspond (ie Desperate Housewives at 9 pm PST and 9pm EST). It used to confuse me enough living in Alberta as a kid how we'd get most programs (Mountain Standard Time) an hour earlier. But it still confounds me why there is an hour discrepency between PST and EST daytime network programming on some networks anyway (ie the ABC PST lineup was AMC at noon to GH at 2--EST lineup was AMC at 1 with GH at 3). Of course Loving/The City used to be shuffled all around the schedule--if aired at all. Once I became a fan in '92, when I'd have to go back to Edmonton for our two month Summers, I couldn't watch it (their ABC affiliate was Spokane Washington's--and no Canadian station ever picked the show up). Back in BC, where I lived, our Seattle ABC affiliate aired it at 11:30 (with a 30 mins news at 11:00), but the last few months of The City they moved it up to 12:05 am--where it got much better ratings apparently (which was true, I read at the time, of a number of places and was one reason NBC did their late night Sunset Beach reruns shortly after, though I think the difference was SuBe was *later* and an hour show--it's easy to watch a 30 min soap right before falling asleep. But it does make me think Fox could have had a cult hit with 13 Bourbon Street).
Members Skin
I know there were stations that used to air PC at like 3 or 4 in the morning.
Members EricMontreal22
Ha which I doubt would do too well rating wise... It's a bit too late. I know there's some rule that if shows rop a certain demo point they can be shuffled... When I was first really into soaps, after a year and a half of watching MC and half a year of OLTL and Loving, I started that Summer ('92) to try to watch all of the soaps--and tape the ones on opposite--to see how they compared. I remember the Seattle NBC aired Santa Barbara at 10am, but I'm not sure if that was normal... And Another World was after at 11--but CTV in Canada aired it at 2 (Another World until its end was one of Canada's top rated soaps). I'm pretty sure Sunset Beach also aired at 10am, but again I'm not sure when it aired elsewhere (and again briefly as part of NBC's brief late late night schedule). Members Ryan Chamberlain
After AMC was canceled. WKYT 27 in Lexington (my hometown) started airing Y&R at 1:00-2:00. Still the wrong time. But, at least we are not behind an episode anymore. Also. B&B is now on here at 10:30AM.
Members JackPeyton
In new mexico, at least for awhile around 2001-2004ish the ABC station aired AMC at 12, GH at 1, PC at 2:30, and GH OLTL at 3.

Members Ryan Chamberlain
Good. I don't think I've ever heard of an ABC station that didn't air OLTL. Ha.
Members Gray Bunny
That's so weird to see so many affiliates airing the CBS line-up out of order. ATWT in the morning, Y&R in the late afternoon, GL before ATWT, B&B in the morning, etc... Very strange. That Chicago listing is incorrect. We're central time zone. GL was at 9am, Y&R at 11:30, B&B at 12:30, ATWT at 1pm. Up until 1999 when Passions debuted, Chicago's NBC station (WMAQ) aired DAYS at 11am and AW at noon. When Sunset Beach debuted, it took over the noon timeslot and AW aired at 1. Would be interested to know when that 11am timeslot originated, and also wonder when they aired the other previous NBC soaps (Santa Barbara, Generations, SFT, etc.)
Members juppiter
Yup, my CBS affiliate where I lived at the time is on the list...was a day-behind GL affiliate for years and years, from like the mid-1990s up until the end. GL aired at 9 AM in the late 90s, and around 1999/2000 or so moved to 10 AM. I never really understood why, because until Dr. Phil they never had a successful show in the 3 PM timeslot. Pretty sure our NBC did not air Sunset Beach in the correct timeslot either -- what was the correct timeslot for SuBe even, 3PM? Cause our affiliate aired it at like 10 or 11. Members KateW
Did the affiliate switches in the fall of 1994 affect CBS Daytime ratings-wise? I've never understood the reasoning behind a good number of CBS stations moving Guiding Light to early mornings on a one-day delay.
