So I just re-watched the episode all way through (instead of sneaking peaks during lunch at my hotel room), and I have to say... this episode kind of sucked for a "final week" episode. I am not getting any heightened sense of emotion or feelings that the plots I have been watching will soon come to a conclusion. I know, I know, the PP deal was still in place to continue, but the occurrences in this episode seem like a waste for the final moments of this 42 year old show.

The scenes also felt very short and staggered. I think we can all agree, that short scenes hinder the viewers ability to connect with the emotions of the scene.

Unfortunately short an/or quick back and forthh scenes have beben a staple of OLTL for a while now--even more than probably any other current soap. Sometimes it suits the current style of OLTL but sometimes it drives me crazy.

Today's episode did feel disjointed, but I didn'tmind the pace or focus of it--they needed IMHO at least one "downtime" episode after the blackout and Heaven/Hell dramaere going intot he final episodes. I just hope the final three are truly special.

I do agree there completely although... I'm blanking--how were the Thornharts brought back under Malone again? I know Cole came on as a steroid freak under Higley (aww Higley and her brave social issue stories) but didn't remember them being mentioned under Malone's last tenure. (didn't Patrick show up as a ghost to his new found twin Ian on PC? biggrin.png )

Marty appeared during the "was it rape" story with Victor/Todd and Blair in 2004. Susan Haskell came back for that and Marty testified on the stand (as an actual psychiatric consultant, which was bullshit) that she did not believe Todd could rape again. She then briefly lectured Blair about having remembered the night in question 'wrong.' Imagine the egg on Marty's face in 2008 when Victor did, in fact, rape her.

But yeah, during that story in 04, Marty told Todd she and Patrick and the kid were happy in California.

I loved Brody as a knight in shining armor, actually, because he'd earned it. He'd come through a lot and I thought they wrote him so well. But I also think there's been a lot of conditioning on the viewers to not find nice guys interesting. Look how many times Joey's balls have been cut off. It's not that nice guys are boring, it's if you play them like eunuchs. When Andrew was a star on the show, he burned with inner passions, he had issues, he was in love with a married woman, then lusted after a drunken college girl - but he was still a decent, soulful, spiritual man.

I loved him in that role too except he truly didget BORING. That's what I objected him to. Because he did earn the role (which is why I was worried that at any minute to try to make him more interesting again RC would have him go psycho again because he doesn't seem what else to do with nice characters sometimes--which he kinda did but I suppose at least gave him some motive with his need for family and sen him to St Anne's instead of his death as I expected).

The girl kid, right? :P I completely forgot about that mess...

No, I don't remember them mentioning the kid specifically.

I never had a problem with Cole turning up as a boy, or Starr's age. The sex of the child was a throwaway mention in one episode in '97, and in terms of soap aging, Cole and Starr were only maybe a year or two apart. Which makes them the same age, soap-wise.

the problem is they aged him out of order making him older than her. It would have been better had he been the same age, not older

At one point, Carlotta was said to have a daughter too as seen here:

People tend to say this about every love interest ME has, and then they're destroyed while he looks on half-asleep. I think something like Kevin/Tea would have been more exciting.

This is very true. Not sure I would have liked Tea as his love interest but I have enjoyed their scenes together. I guess ME gets bored very easily and needs to mix it up with his acting partners more often.

Warning: don't read this piece if you're prone to weepiness!

What a nice, thorough interview, that was long as I don't know what. I especially liked what Sean and Erika said about Robin who has been missed these final weeks.

How did Todd find Patrick/Marty, when Victor was the one who got them away?

Exactly. Some vague thing about because Todd escaped when Patrick got out.

Todd heard Patrick was remaking Man Without a Face, and got in touch with the director.
