October 17, 201213 yr Member I doubt they would have her name if they absolutely didn't have to. I think she's playing the martyr when she knows her contract probably states she must be credited.
October 17, 201213 yr Member Lisa Seidman is credited as breakdown writer for tomorrow's US episode of Y&R.
October 17, 201213 yr Member And it appears that Sally McDonald is back to directing full-time again (though still listed as a producer, at least for the time being). Edited October 19, 201213 yr by Y&RWorldTurner
October 19, 201213 yr Author Administrator And it appears that Sally McDoanld is back to directing full-time again (though still listed as a producer, at least for the time being). I hope so. Loved some of her camera movements on Thursday's episode: the camera dollying out when Sharon was on the couch, and the camera dollying in while Sharon was on the stairs.
October 19, 201213 yr Member Sony updated the Y&R credits page: http://www.theyounga...ion-credits.php Sally McDonald is back to directing only, and no longer a producer Habib Azar, Angela Tessinari, and Andrew Lee are no longer listed as directors Jay Gibson no longer listed as a "Consulting Producer," but still credited as a breakdown writer Mandy Carucci is the new Writer's Assistant Erica Chavez is Jill's Assistant Looks like Beth Milstein was fired completely Mary O'Leary joins as a producer (though with just a "Producer" credit, not a "Supervising Producer" credit) Hogan Sheffer (ugh!) is still credited as Co-Head Writer, but his contract is up next month, so who really knows his status at this point Edited October 19, 201213 yr by Y&RWorldTurner
October 19, 201213 yr Member With Sally back to directing, the contracted directing team is almost fully back to where it was pre-Latham. The only one missing is Kathryn Foster, who wasn't directing much by the time she became a producer anyway. Conal O'Brien is the only one who sticks out. directors CONAL O'BRIEN MIKE DENNEY DEAN LaMONT NOEL MAXAM SALLY McDONALD Edited October 19, 201213 yr by Y&RWorldTurner
October 19, 201213 yr Member Habib Azar, Angela Tessinari, and Andrew Lee are no longer listed as directors Did you have any opinion of them?
October 19, 201213 yr Member Not really, the directing during Maria's era was terrible - even longtime directors like Mike Denney were turning in very bland work. The difference in the directing since Jill got there has been noticeable almost overnight. The camera is actually moving again.
October 19, 201213 yr Member They need to get rid of Dean LaMont. I dont like his directing on Y&R. As for the ones listed above...I like Andrew Lee's directing but dont care for Habib. He wasnt that great on ATWT.
October 19, 201213 yr Member Finola Hughes confirmed on Twitter that Owen Renfroe is joining Jill at Y&R as a director. https://twitter.com/...341105349423106 @finolahughes Hey @TheRealStafford @CJLeBlanc @Traceybregman You r getting an amazing director in Owen Renfroe. Look after him for us xxxx Edited October 19, 201213 yr by Y&RWorldTurner
October 19, 201213 yr Member Funnily enough, I'm not massively fond of Dean LaMont's directing efforts either. In response to this, unless JFP sees value in pre-LML production, then I'd say come Christmas, the show will look and sound completely different to anything before. Shame in some instances, as I'm fond of some of the 70/80/90/early 00's scores sometimes employed. For example, the score used this week at the end of the 16/10/12 episode, when Jack wanted the siblings dim to call Victor. And before I forgot, Y&RWorldTurner mentioned they may be going for a 'gothic' type look. I have seen elements of this in the lighting, the camera work/angles and in some of the 'eerie' music employed (step forward last scene of today's episode). I also caution people not to only see change now because they know the new regime is in charge... I'm guessing this last sentence is in the wrong thread. Haha Edited October 19, 201213 yr by UK LAW
October 19, 201213 yr Member LaMont is very hit and miss, but he's native to the show and worked his way up there, so I don't think he's going anywhere. With Mike Denney, Sally McDonald, Noel Maxam, and now Owen Renfroe on staff - Y&R has a first-rate contract directing team again. They just needed someone with some taste to bring out the best in these people. I don't know how much longer Denney will stay, he's almost 70 and lives in Oklahoma now. He tends to fly in to direct his episodes in chunks, who knows how long he'll keep that schedule up at his age. Edited October 19, 201213 yr by Y&RWorldTurner
October 19, 201213 yr Author Administrator Sally McDonald is back to directing only, and no longer a producer Nice! Habib Azar, Angela Tessinari, and Andrew Lee are no longer listed as directors Was Angela listed before? I thought she was just freelancing. With Sally back to directing, the contracted directing team is almost fully back to where it was pre-Latham. The only one missing is Kathryn Foster, who wasn't directing much by the time she became a producer anyway. If Foster came back the Y&R directing staff would be complete. She's part of the "Fab Four". Conal O'Brien is the only one who sticks out. I've always wondered why AMC didn't bring him when they moved to the west. He was their lead director for such a long time and he was willing to move to the west coast. They need to get rid of Dean LaMont. I dont like his directing on Y&R. I've always appreciated Y&R's crew that worked their way up (it was the "Y&R way"). Finola Hughes confirmed on Twitter that Owen Renfroe is joining Jill at Y&R as a director. We all knew that was coming. LOL Wonder who he'll be replacing and who will take his spot at GH (probably Gary Donatelli or Sonia B. who have already directed a couple of eps). I don't know how much longer Denney will stay, he's almost 70 and lives in Oklahoma now. He tends to fly in to direct his episodes in chunks, who knows how long he'll keep that schedule up at his age. Phil Sogard is 79 and is still directing at DAYS. LOL I think Herb Stein is in his 70's too.
October 19, 201213 yr Member DAYS overall production hasn't been good in a long time. FV directs alot of epis even when he's not credited as director.
October 19, 201213 yr Member Speaking of Y&R directors, whatever happened to Heather Hill? Did she retire?
