OLTL: Discussion for the week of September 12th

Interesting KA quotes about RH

"No, I was not very close to him. He was very nice to me -- at times. I think we did some really good scenes together and a lot of people think: Oh, Todd and Starr, he was my dad and we had that father/daughter relationship. But definitely not in real life. He's a quiet guy. He really didn't talk to me at all." (SOW Chatterbox 2003, Kristen Alderson)

(on her co-stars at OLTL) "They are normal people. They are really nice. And Roger Howarth really likes me, which is good." (TV Guide Online, August 2001)

(looking at a picture of Starr and Todd in 1998) "I love that picture. Aw. It's so funny because I only remember bits and pieces of those times when I was taping. ... It was just so cool to me and fun, and Roger Howarth [then-Todd] was really nice to me." (SOD 4/1/08)

Todd needs to cut that little hanging hair section off

Yup. It's driving me nuts.

I can't even really make fun of AT anymore, he's just a lot of fun. He tries so hard! And fails virtually every time, but he tries! There's something endearing about it for some bizarre reason.

And yes - i think his reactions range from "Oh my God, the camera is on me, where am I, what am I doing" to "kiss me, Shane."

I adore AT. He stinks, but I love him.

Personally, I think AT would be better off modeling, but it's also clear that playing a character such as Jack goes against his nature. Kids don't know how to play characters who are unlike themselves; they don't have that kind of training.

So now you know why KA was so good as pre-teen Starr. ;)

Todd: "This is all my fault. If I had been there for Jack, none of this would have ever happened."

Me: "Bull. [!@#$%^&*]."

I'm struggling with RH's Todd acting so self-righteous about being a great dad considering he spent that last year hurting those kids.

I know it's bad but every time I picture him it's with Phil Hartman's face.

OMG me too.

Natalie please change. That dress is hideous. Must she flaunt the girls in everything she wears???

+1.

Plus, that was some weird flirting between Natalie and her Unca Todd there. RH/MA share too much chem.

AT does such a better job with the subtle emotional expressions than he does with the piqued or angry faces

He can do subtle emotional expressions? Since when?

He kidnapped her and traded her off to Mitch Lawrence to get her heart cut out and then laughed it off. They definetly shared scenes and there definetly was no love lost there.

Cheap21,

Thought you might be interested to read SID's tease:

"If you want to hear Trevor St. John's side of the story about why he's not on #OLTL, pick up next week's issue for a great interview."

Lol at John: "Just call him Tea's husband."

TSJTodd's recording :(. I do enjoy RHTodd and Nat, though as someone mentioned they have inappropriate chemistry.

OneLife cameramen, please stop zooming in on the almost unibrow; it's distracting.

The murder mystery, the recording, the funeral... RC sure trying to keep TSJ fans invested somehow. Is it working on you?

-- This show misses TSJ so much it's unbelievable. I'm annoyed with RH, but I think it's more because I see him as a replacement for Trevor rather than Roger himself.

-- AT is one horrific actor, but there's no denying that you have to look at him when he's on the screen. The kid is incredibly good-looking.

-- Does Kim Zimmer shove food in her mouth all day long? That sweater thing makes her look like a frickin sausage.

Or worse, like she's keeping sausages on her in case she gets hungry between scenes.

I wish some network would do a soap version of "Celebrity Fit Club." Lord knows some of these people need it.

Has Kim Zimmer's autobiography been discussed here?

I'm halfway through it, but it's disappointing. She praises some actors and industry people effusively, but when she's negative, she rarely names names. I thought this was supposed to be some balls-to-the-wall-no-hold-barred memoir.

If you have an aversion to exclamation points, you definitely want to avoid Zimmer's book. That's right -- every other sentence!!!!!!!!

I've decided that if AT doesn't get into modeling, he should be a silent actor. He is so cute.
