To me both characters are just played out and riding on nostalgia. I remember when she was there in the late 90s and she felt isolated and out of place (to me), floating around in unflattering skirts and sort of working at the hospital, sort of dating Stefan, etc. On paper she should have been the heart of the show, but I never saw it. Maybe it was Guza, but I think Genie's dislike of the character was also an issue.

I don't know what the deal was with her wardrobe - most of Laura's clothes were drab and didn't fit her well. Surely the show at that time could have splurged on some nice new clothes for her.

Was Claire Labine still writing GH in late 1996? I didn't start watching until summer 1997.

No, I think Guza and Karen Harris were

Culliton took over in Oct-Nov '96. I believe Miranda was all him.

Guza outlines though. And his Miranda was going to be a Cassadine. They kept her ties to Jax and downplayed the Mac part of the story that he was building. I wonder if he was going to have Mac take a dark turn?

And we all miss her rightclosedeyes.jpgclosedeyes.jpgtongue.png

Was she the first terrible actress cast during Riche? I know there were several after Miranda but up to that point I cannot think of another poor casting choice.

That's a shame, because Leslie Horan had turned in a fine performance as the daughter of Jaclyn Smith and Michael Ontkean in the 1994 TV movie Family Album (based on a Danielle Steel book).

good actress, terrible character. They didn't know what to do with her.

She came in right as Guza left for Sunset Beach. The character fell apart. But the actress wasn't great. But Soaps are not for everyone!

Is it true that Alexis got some of Miranda's backstory?

Does anyone remember when Guza came back but wasn't listed in the credits yet? He ended Felicia almost having an Aztec revisit, and Luke gave us the history of Alexis in one episode on the docks. He wanted those decks cleared!
