Okay. I did not realize that. I knew you really would like Brenda to be back, in the person of one VM. But, I didn't know anything really about your opinion of her in other roles. Like VEGAS, which I loved. Got it now. Brenda or Bust!

🤣 It would be nice to see her back as Brenda yes, but it'd also be a middle finger for TPTB not bringing her back as Brenda. "Oh, you won't take me back? Fine. I'll go somewhere else."

I tolerate other roles. I have the entire Vegas series on DVD, I watched all her 90210 era, love the Rock and watch it every time it pops up, and I have even watched her Hallmark movies with good intent.  It just not the role she was born to play and that is Brenda Barrett.  I will obviously be watching anything she does and support, but the endgame is always back to Brenda for me.

No!!! Can't you let me live my small little dream?  I imagine Vanessa has not made herself available to other soap roles previously because it's literally a no brainer to hire her.

I'd like to think she'd do it as a favour to Michele Val Jean, ultimately.

Me too.  They seem to have a strong friendship and it would ultimately help the cause for The Gates.  It just won't help my personal agenda.🤣

I know it would sting... but it'd also be a major grab for both the series and the network. A-la CBS nabbing Genie Francis from ABC, but different given Marcil, lol.

Has any other soap ever put out feelers for VM through her reps?  I definitely see her doing well on either Bell soap.

Now I have a much more thorough of an understanding of the ... what should I call it ... CarolineG & the dame that is & always will be: Brenda Barrett

 

I think the best thing for all parties would be for Vanessa to do a Special Guest Star stint on The Gates a la Rosemary Prinz on AMC in the first year. If anyone still has that kind of clout with soap fans today it's VM. That would leave her open to GH, which I agree is her home.

MVJ was always respected by the actors on GH because they knew they’d get a quality script when she’d write it. Even Tony Geary, who doesn’t care much for dialogue writers, was very fond of MVJ. 

A last gasp before Luke-mania did such damage to the show.

The first segment of this video has a number of GH cast members, including Emma Samms, Brad Maule, and (not on GH at that time of course) Constance Towers. Constance and Brad sing a duet, which reminded me of when they briefly "dated" during Tony's bad guy period that the show clearly had no interest in (Tony was basically exiled not long after).
