August 16, 201114 yr Member I was thinking of actors and actresses who have left their respective shows on either messy or bad terms ie. were fired, didn't like storyline or character direction, lots of drama surrounding their exit etc. but later ended up eventually coming back, either if old wounds healed, regime change, cancellation etc. even though they were never expected to return. To start off with: Days-Susan Seaforth Hayes, Joseph Mascolo, Louise Sorel GL-Peter Simon, Maeve Kinkead ATWT-Larry Bryggman, Cady McClain Now it's bolded. And just to give you a bit more. "In the beginning, the character of Todd was successful. I'll always be proud of this story, because it was the result of a real team effort. It was one of those spectacular times when the writer, producer, director, grips, engineers and actors were all on the same wavelength. Everybody was working toward a common goal. My task, at the time, was to show the humanity of someone who was basically inhuman. Todd wasn't one-dimensional, but he was definitely a serious psychopath. Todd was a serial rapist. He raped Carol Swift. Then, he raped Marty Saybrooke, and that rape was brutal, intense, violent and realistic. There were innuendos that he had raped other women before. He stalked Nora, he stalked and tried to rape Luna. [Then-Executive Producer] Linda Gottlieb told me with reasonable certainty that [One Life to Live] would not try to redeem Todd. So, I didn't think the character would change. Then about a year ago, it became clear to me that they were taking the character on a different path — they were redeeming him. In my mind, I'd been hired to play Todd Manning, a very realistic, serious psychopath. But now, the powers-that-be wanted me to play Todd Lord. And the story of Todd Lord is not realistic — it's a fairy tale. I thought, "It would be best for the show if I were to leave." That's when I tendered my resignation.[19] " I'm not sure how much more obvious I can make it at this point. This is not opinion when it comes straight from the actor. August 16, 201114 yr Member Maybe not, but I'm certainly enjoying it! Popcorn, anyone? You bring the popcorn, I'll bring the vodka!
August 16, 201114 yr Member Wow...I certainly understand that soap fans can be very passionate about their shows, however, that does not give them a reason to personally attack one another like this. Tone it down, let it go, or else...alright?

August 17, 201114 yr Member Rosemary Prinz, who was so sick of ATWT when she left that she said she would only return if she was in Nazi Germany or if her mother was in front of a firing squad, came back about 17 years later.
August 17, 201114 yr Member A tad spoilerish maybe, highlight to read: Does anybody here know why Jacob Young left B&B in 1999?
August 18, 201114 yr Author Member To that spoilerish thing above I've heard it was due mostly to immaturity and attitude. As soon as he tasted success and it ended up going straight to his head. It became disruptive so and a show with the likes of Susan Flannery and Hunter Tylo at the time TPTB crushed him pretty quickly.
August 19, 201114 yr Member AMC: Eva LaRue- I know she left the 2nd time due to issues with her marriage and her frustration over the way TPTB were taking the character of Maria at the time. She was also pretty vocal in the press about how they the show treated Julia Barr and all the issues and the morale the show and cast were feeling. Yet she came back for the anniversary episodes and also is coming back for a few episodes since the show is being cancelled. I actually have to wonder if the reason she does that is just out of respect for her co-workers and the history of the show. I gotta give the girl credit, she obviously doesn't NEED to come back for any of those things, she's got a pretty cushy gig on CSI Miami for the last, what, 5 years?

That quote is about his 1995 exit. YurSoakinginit is talking about his 2003 exit. Drink up, sweetie.
August 19, 201114 yr Member I have a different perception of his exit in 2003 (@AMS, that's the only time I'm referring to), and was taking the first statement of the post about the exit being "messy" as applying to the overall scenario. I just didn't think it was all that messy. I accept different views on that, as I did with CarlD2. I didn't know you were referring to just 2003. I figured since Antoyne was obviously talking about his 90s exits that you were disputing the widely-known reasons behind those.
