But that would be boring. I'd rather speculate like everyone else in this thread. I'm not saying this person is right about PP any stretch, but they aren't just a random insider either. They've been getting things right for months now and definitely have some sort of inside track.

Given that ABC will still own the Nixon soaps, it is no surprise that they will have some say over what happens at PP.

And it is hardly a shock that both AMC and OLTL will be radically altered from what that currently look lilke. Because today's AMC and OLTL (even with the latter's ratings "surge") are considered failures, PP (or any other new company that gets involved) will naturally want to make drastic changes (even if those changes turn out to be huge mistakes in hindsight).

Maybe it is just me, but the way it was worded made it seem like ABC has veto power over whatever PP wants OLTL to do for the finale. The poster said that PP influence will be seen in the show's final 3 months but ABC could still veto things they don't like. ABC doesn't care about these shows anymore so I doubt they care what PP does with them after September 23 and Janaury.

Maybe they think ABC has better access to market data not that they ever used it. The only part that leaves me a tad skeptical is that these people are former Disney execs and Frons cronies.

But I think I;ll wait until someone from PP clarifies all this. I don't think anyone really knows what these shows will look like. I like the telenovel 13 week arc approach

You know I'm the first person to admit that a lot of these last few months on AMC have been a hot bowl of ass but I'm grateful that AMC doesn't have to go through more months of PP vs ABC and tons of rewrites done on the fly based on whoever decides to go to the new show. Things are choppy enough but in a month it'll all be over and we won't have to deal with BTS chaos affecting the finished product. Once the show is done, all the energy and resources can go into developing All My Children 2: Pine Valley of the Dead. They can concentrate on making that show good in its own right instead of essentially trying to sync up two separate shows on two completely different "networks."
