Even without the interview everyone knew she was unhappy..I've never seen deader eyes on an actor/actress and that's saying something since I occasionally watch Y&R...I will say though, she completely perked up in that scene with JD.

She should have never returned to the show. I thought her first few months under Broderick were good when she was paired with David, but the second it looked like she and Ryan were destined for a reunion, she went downhill

I don't see any real difference in Greenlee then and now, other than she doesn't whine about her daddy. The rest is the same Greenlee - insecurity, bitchiness, self-righteous ranting.

Josh Duhamel had charisma and Mathison has none. That may be the main difference. That and Budig hating her job for years.

I'm surprised LMAD still can't get above GL - I wonder what the difference in production costs was between the Peapack GL and LMAD, considering LMAD gives away cars and such.

Actually, I believe that some of the weekly ratings for GL got as low as a 1.3 or 1.4. Thus, the ratings posted for LMAD are considerable improvements.

I thought the last year was usually around 1.5 or 1.6, with the ratings crashing mostly after the cancelation was announced.

Her return was awesome for about 3 months and it got boring after that.

Yeah, it was fine until they paired her back up with Ryan.... I think Rebecca Budig clearly does not like Rylee... so did Frons outright lie to her to get her to come back?

While it’s hard to imagine daytime TV without All My Children, it’s even more difficult to picture the fictional Pine Valley without reformed badgirl Greenlee Smythe and the talented scene-stealing actress who plays her, Rebecca Budig.

Not really. I fantasize about it everytime her airhogging ass shows up on my screen.

Mathison can do alright when his character is handled properly. Ryan was very good with Gillian and, IMO Madison. I think both RB and CM hate Rylee but Frons loves them therefore they are shackled together forever in soap history regardless of suck factor.

Anyway we've gotten off topic, we're just about due for another round of PP rumors.

Can you blame her? I think she liked David/Greenlee I don't know if frons lied or not but when they get new headwriters it seemed to go in a differnt direction back to Rylee I do think that Friday with leo is the first time I have seen her come alive in awhile.

Carl, the 1.3-1.4 GL ratings I was referring to did occur after the cancellation announcement. However, the LMAD ratings that I posted for the week of March 7-11, 2011 show a rating of 1.7 for the first 30 minutes and a 1.9 for the last 30 minutes, which are still better than the 1.5's and 1.6's that GL got before the announcement.

Rylee's always been RB's Kryptonite. It's the common denominator in all of her departures/expressions of unhappiness.

  • 2005 Departure - Rylee
  • 2008 Return - Aidan/Greenlee
  • 2009 Departure - Rylee
  • 2009 Return - David/Greenlee
  • 2011 "Moved on" - Rylee

She's not being given anything new to play other than variations of Rylee. They'll lure her back with something fresh and immediately pull a bait and switch routine.

EXACTLY! Which is why I've never understood it when people go ranting and raving about how RB "always gets her way" and that she controls Frons and in turn controls the show. That's nonsense. She hasn't had a long-term commitment to this character in a long time.

Sums it up nicely. However, its her own fault she keeps falling for the bait a switch. A Pavlov dog she is not evidently.

I don't believe she controls Frons, or the show, but I think she has more leeway than a lot of co-stars, especially if it's true that she was a big reason why Pratt was pushed out.

Thats bad because from my understanding most of the cast hated pratt lol

You're right, but it's interesting to me that she only returned right after he was suddenly fired.
