What is this issue dated that this comes from?

When things were bad at GL, JVD would become quiet and he usually wouldn't go around talking up something as the best ever if he thought the audience didn't like it, the audience feeling was mixed strongly or he didn't care for it. He would just do the interview and answer the questions without comment. Other times he'd go into more detail in interviews and do the writers' work for them explaining the motivation better than what was in the script. With the Prospect Park stuff, well I can understand his "enthusiasm" as if this didn't come up he would be retired. If he would start to talk about how great the vending machines were I'd puke as really it isn't like I can enjoy them. Of course, he won't in early days talk about things like how much longer his commute will be if they are out on Long Island. Perhaps that would be something he would discuss later, but not in trying to promote the show. JVD has to tread a line as it is, as if he is too gung ho and acts like OLTL was the only job he ever had, he alienates people like me.

Cameron's behavior bothers me more as his comments don't change if the material is poor.

I feel the need to be very clear on this. I love JVD. I hold him in that same golden bubble as David Canary and Debbi Morgan. He's an actor I can trust to always deliver but his comments sound to me like someone who is just happy to still have a job and I have no problem with that.

Right now there isn't any actor I like involved with PP other than Lindsey Hartley.

Terri Conn I think based on how long she's been around has to be in her late 30's and while not ancient by any means, in Hollywood thats a tad old to start branching out for a woman especially as sexist as that may sound. Late 20's early 30's yes. But its true there is no job security in this genre anymore so people need to look elsewhere. I would think some of these folks have other sources of income also and other business ventures.

TC's problem is there is nothing unique about her looks or acting. Scheming white blondes are a dime a dozen on soaps and in Hollywood. She needs a new standoud role to add to her resume.

I see your point, but I think he's only made one or two interviews on the subject.

True. I guess the way we keep chewing at this topic makes it seem like he's said a lot more. I have the feeling we're about to get another round of news or commentary. Everytime there's a lull, somebody writes a column or a tweet to stir things up again.

I also think we're about to get another round of announcements from PP. There's only another month of OLTL taping for ABC and if AMC & OLTL are to debut in January there has to be more going on than what has been released so far.

Hmm I wonder which popular AMC actress is up for a major movie role. I could frankly see Minshew and Lucci before I see Budig.

You do know Budig has been in numerous TV series.. reality TV competition (winner)......another soap......critically acclaimed award winning movies. AND Minshew has done______ well.....um.......hmmm....um I did see her on a box of hair color from her days as a HAIR model.happy.pngwhistling.jpg

Of course .....it could be her, STRANGER things have happened and it surely could be Lucci.

Lets not pretend like Budig has done anything worth a damn outside of daytime.

As for who the actress is that SOD is talking about, my money is on Denise Vasi who's in 2 upcoming movies, 1 of them directed by Stephen Soderbergh starring Channing Tatum and Matthew McConaughey. Sure it's not a Cheri Oteri movie but Denise seems to be doing alright post AMC.

soapsindepthabc Soaps In Depth ABC

Lindsay Hartley just tweeted that Darnell Williams has officially signed on to Prospect Park's version of #AMC.

I always figured despite her detractors DV would do fine because she's gorgeous and has a look and charisma about her. Folks always think all these great talents from soaps will be the ones to move onward and upward.

Why isn't PP announcing this kind of stuff? *smdh* This would have been like ABC having Lucci announcing on twitter or FB who's hired and fired...

So excited for DW and he was catious per ABC SID that he not be taken advantage of. Must mean PP are Doing Things Well

Have they announced anything? It seems everything we have heard is via someone leaking it to SOD SID or through the actors.

Why does it Matter who announces it? Just be happy someone else signed GEEZ

They have not announced AMC stuff Only OLTL. Makes Me Think PP wanted to keep most of AMC stuff a surprise because of the cliffhanger

  • Member

PP should do the announcing sure, but I assume, especially now, that LH is one of those actors working directly with PP and being an actor perhaps has more immediate reach than PP.
