I was surprised she ever went back to AMC at all, especially since she had repeatedly said she wanted to play characters who weren't like Angie. So I don't know what will happen.

Any time a new actor gets praise for their performance, then unless they are a hunky guy with a vocal fan following (like Michael Muhney), they are shown the door by Y&R. That is a very ugly set, and I pity anyone who works there.

MM is ugh. He's one I would not be sad to see go.

Back on topic, maybe after Y&R she will have gotten her fill of dysfunction and backstabbing who knows.

This is where I wish they could bring back Lorraine from The City/Loving. I just loved that actress, and she had chemistry with Darnell.

I actually like the idea of Jesse without Angie. Even though I consider them one of the last legitimate soap supercouples they are still individual characters and IMO should be treated as such. Jesse especially turned into a bit of a cipher so I'm intrigued to see what could be done with him away from Angie. If we can get Jamie Luner on board, that could be a very interesting dynamic. Jesse and Liza could be very interesting, not necessarily romantically but I wouldn't rule that out entirely either.

Ditto. But they probably like JL because she has a decent Q rating or some nonsense like that.

PP can hire on Victoria Rowell as a new character on AMC.

What I'm guessing is that they're waiting for more actors to sign on before making it "press release-official".

So, basically Darnell's allegedly going on the online cast... and the rest is simply the peanut gallery playing "Wish I Was a Production Executive." Got it. I'll check back later.

I strongly dislike Jesse when he is in cop mode, which is probably all he will be now unless they re-cast Frankie.

I am actually kind of hoping Darnell's signing spurns other actors into signing as well. I am not sure that would happen, but having one heavy hitter signed could be a good sign.

You do know Budig has been in numerous TV series.. reality TV competition (winner)......another soap......critically acclaimed award winning movies. AND Minshew has done______ well.....um.......hmmm....um I did see her on a box of hair color from her days as a HAIR model.

I have some old AMC episodes from the late 90s and in several of them AM is there doing Tampax commercials. (not that I have a problem with that--people have to start somewhere, but it did make me laugh reading your post).

I always figured despite her detractors DV would do fine because she's gorgeous and has a look and charisma about her. Folks always think all these great talents from soaps will be the ones to move onward and upward.

It's also true that movie acting is really different from soap opera acting (as is primetime). There have been many cases I can think of (though Brandon Routh is the first to come to mind) of an actor who was absolutely TERRIBLE on a soap, the way DV was at first (I do think she imrpoved, but it helped that they gave her less to do), and is more than fine on primetime or in movies. Some of it is probably just gaining experience, but it also has to do with often much shorter scenes, a lot more time to rehearse, memorise, ability to do multiple takes, etc, etc.

Have they announced anything? It seems everything we have heard is via someone leaking it to SOD SID or through the actors.

That's what I thought. I guess the FV news was through them? but otherwise it all seems to be from secondary sources for both shows.
