I have now reached #1827: in a surprising turn of events, Ivana has offered Jessica her friendship and the Forrester ingenue visits th Melrose Place style apartment where Ivana her co-models Coco and Michelle live. While the story is not super interesting, it's just fascinating that B&B once used such a logical set of characters (models! at a fashion hpuse, who would have thought about them!?) and it adds some nice layers. You know, Michelle has to lose two pounds for her next photo shoot and is tehrefore eager to hit the treadmill.

BUT my biggest surprise: (day player) Coco is a smoker!? Smoking on soaps or TV in general is such a rarity these days and I just realized that it was never much used on B&B either.

Apart from Coco, I recall Deacon as a smoker when he joined as resident bad boy in 2000 and Massimo of course smoked cigars... Can you guys think of anyone else?

Sure - Nick of course! And there was an episode i think 6000 when Stephanie invited a friend to talk with Nick about smoking and cancer. And in 1988 i think when Stephanie hired the prived eye to find Stiven Logan he smoked and in the dinner the detective i forgot his name asked Stephanie to buy cigarettes so she can see Stiven and she said she did not smoke.

Its episode 2301... Brooke has taken her kids and she is about to get arrested soon.

I would rate the show a good 6 out of 10. Its getting better.

I like Dylans escort storyline. I like how Lauren is getting dirty.

2301 to 2340 has been MASTERPIECE. I cant believe Bradley Bell had it in him... or maybe Bill Bell was writing in the shadow... I dont know BUT The show is back to 9 ot of 10! There have been 3 episodes in which we cried and I would rate them solid 10 out of 10! I am really shocked. 1996 has been MILLION times better than 1994 and 1995. So.. folks... have patience and the show will be back. I hope it lasts this time.

Reasons I say this.

1. Stephanie poison and mad story is amazing and SF is playing it for an Emmy! She is the best.

2. Sheila is more interesting and evil than ever.

3. Brooke coming out of prison and helping Stephanie... I cried.

4. Sally hugging Stephanie and holding her in her arms. I CRIED.

5. Dylan choosing not to sleep with Lauren - great storywriting!

The only think I am sad about is that Taylor is gone but I know she is coming back soon so I m not worried.

Actually we havent been more excited to binge watch in probably months!

God I love B and B. This show has saved me from depression and given me inspiration all though my life.

Now its some sort of a shared hobby with me and my partner. He loves it too.

THANKS SO MUCH AGAIN TO @rsclassicfanforever whose episodes we are binge watching! THANK YOU THANK YOU! THANK YOU!

@divinemotion Who would've thought that Sally would be Stephanie's protector/defender during the poisoning storyline. There is a great scene during that storyline where Sally confronts Sheila and Sally is terrifying in that scene (shades of DC's Y&R character Rose Deville).

Brad Bell either had a face-lift, or Lauralee used an aggressive de-aging filter on that photo. Regardless -- all 3 look fab!

And yes, LLB comes across as a lovely person with a great sense of humor. Remember when the Y&R cast did a script-read of William J. Bell's first ever episode of Y&R at the Paley Center (below)? Lauralee was both hilarious and talented in her participation.

I used to be bored to tears by teen Cricket back in the 80s, but boy, would I love Christine full-time on Y&R now. And that's largely because of LLB herself.

(P.S.: Kristoff! so handsome, such presence, sob. And Amelia Heinle is so engaging here).

Episode 2350...

The show is good. Its getting a little repetitive again but its nice repetitive with characters I care about.

One thing I notice is that around this period the show is starting to feel like the Bradley Bell soap opera till 2005. It seems very known and the style is very similiar to everything ive watched 2001 to 2005.

And with Brooke kissing Grant while Ridge is away... I think the slut from the valley is activated in that cheap trashy way Bradley always wanted her in.

Any idea why Brad never brought Amber back? He was fascinated with her for years. By the end of her tenure he had no idea what to do with her, but when has this stopped him before?

I think it is sad that he didn't manage to keep Rick and Bridget as core characters. They were probably ruined by lots of crazy story and endless marriages, but who hasn't on the show?

    • I thought today was still good. Leo is always awful, but the characters treating him like he's a plague feeds my soul. Rafe in particular had been very passive about him, but today was wonderful seeing him put Leo on notice. I really think it's being written that Javi is going to have to eventually take the blinders off and see Leo for who he really is. Them having sex on Gabi's desk made me want to explode. Roman taking in stray Doug was nice to see. And the mention of Frankie and Max was unexpected, but good to know they're at least being thought of. Tate being petty and a bit vindictive by going back to Sophia's as soon as he saw Doug with Holly was entertaining for me. I think I actually like Tate the most out of all of them because he's so damn messy.  Is Holly about to be kidnapped? Her first time? Also, Gabi finally revealing what happened with her the night EJ was shot and the clearing of all the other main suspects, but Johnny made this still feel like an important episode. I think Johnny will be cleared soon enough leaving everybody at a loss for the hell shot EJ. How the real shooter will be revealed is going to be interesting.  Speculation: When Kristen finally puts together that her daughter Rachel shot him, she'll agree to frame her mother for the crime, while keeping her hidden away from Salem.
    • That would have saved the Anita singing segment -- having her by herself, singing quietly and reflectively. Belting it out like she was in church did not work. The black screens fade at the end was a mistake. BTG insists on being different with these fades for the sake of being different, and it's not working.   I thought all of that was just fine. Worked for me.   I'm going to disagree with this. Martin hasn't had many scenes with his parents, but he's been around family A LOT -- and that's what matters. We also know Martin is someone with a hair trigger response. He can be very emotional when discussing an issue before getting to the logic and reason of it all.
    • My view of Evan is that he's smart but not as smart as he thinks he is, not a good guy but not an entirely bad guy - he's a lot of things, the show never quite knowing what to do with them. I never saw him as Iris' follower because Iris always seemed a bit in over her head from the start.
    • She was the Town Historian, who knew a bit too much about Brandon and the infamous cottage.  SF was still a pretty normal place at that time, with Nola and Reva being the most outrageous citizens....seems that Carrie Pipper would have stood out a bit more for people.

    • Yes, I need to dot hat. Also on my list talking to the person I got these files from since they clearly have a mess, in terms of dates being wrong. And, unfortunately finding one date wrong, automatically means more are wrong, too.
    • I'm hoping that it doesn't happen. If the show keeps putting out good performance and story it will be hard to shut it out. Daphnee, Trisha, Ambyr and Colby are earning nominations without question.
    • Speaking of correcting dates, since you mentioned it above, why don't you go back to your Saturday post and edit it and replace your wording of "DAYS Ruth Buzzi 11-2-83"  with "DAYS Ruth Buzzi 11-1-83" and add a note that the video has the wrong date of 11/2/83 on it, and that the video is actually 11/1/83.
