Female:
1. Macy (though perhaps a less "important" character than some of the names further down my list, I always found her the most relatable)
2. Sally
3. Stephanie
4. Sheila
5. Brooke (I don't actually like Brooke, at least not anymore, but I just think she is too important to the show to leave out)
Honorable mentions: Darla, Aly, Stacy the waitress

Male:
1. Thorne
2. CJ
3. Clarke (I didn't feel that way before, but rewatching old episodes with him now, I have gained a whole new appreciation for him - he is hilarious in all his glorious unapologetic arrogance)
4. Deacon
5. A tie between Ridge and Eric (for the same reasons as Brooke above)
Honorable mentions: Saul, Mike, Rocco, Charlie

When she went after Thorne. That was really the eye-opener for me.

And then, going back to watch the show from the beginning, I saw her in a completely different light, noticing things about her that I missed the first time around and how she wasn't at all the heroine I had thought she was.

By the way, interesting to notice that so far, the only characters who made it on everyone's list are Sally and Thorne!

... and male characters are:

Bill Sr,

Ridge,

Thorne,

Eric,

Clarke

@Soapfan8 Favorite female characters: Stephanie, original Caroline, original Sally. Favorite males: none. I can't really count Usher's character because he was more of a celebrity guest for a summer storyline.

Can somebody please refresh my memory? Where did such characters as Dayzee, Anthony, Aggie and Marcus dissapear? Watching the 2010 at the moment and really enjoying it. Thanks!

@skebujebu

Dayzee and Marcus got married in 2012 (shortly after Lope's Italy wedding). They pretty much disappeared after that. Still a few appearances here and there in late 2012 and 2013. As far as I remember, they were last mentionned at the Thanksgiving episode in 2013. Hope said Dayzee and Marcus were in Africa and couldn't make it. They haven't been brought up since then. Not even by Carter or Justin...

Aggie... are you talking about Sandy Summers /Agnes Jones, Oliver's sister? Yes, she vanished quickly. Her last appearance was in February 2011, she had one last scene with Nick, Jack, Owen, Jackie on Nick's boat. Nick mentionned her one last time in a conversation with Katie at his office (it was when Katie moved on because of Bill/Amber). He said Aggie/Sandy expected a bigger commitment from him and he wasn't able to give it. She left for unknown places and was never mentionned again. Her cousin Whip also disappeared shortly after this.

Anthony disappeared shortly after he was ran over, in summer 2012. Marcus hit a pothole and thought he ran over him.  He had his last 2 episodes in March 2013, when Maya joined the show and was looking for her daughter at Dayzee's café.

The 2010/2011 episodes were still ok, imo. Not as good as the 1990s' but the writing was still decent and much better than it is now.

I hope someone will find when Krista Allen appeared as Kelley. Still unsure if it was 1994, 1995 and 1996. If someone has the dates, could you share it? I really want to watch these episodes. TY

    • Sami's Three Stooges stole the show today

I enjoyed their individual scenes with other characters before they all came together at the Pub to commiserate over their relationships with Sami. I thought that was broken down pretty well. I just wish it had gone on a little longer. And I actually found it kinda funny too lol it seemed more mature than what we're used to. That's the kind of humor that should be on a soap. But I'm not really sure about all this talk of Dante Vitali and Sami's engagement though, especially since it doesn't look like Ali Sweeney is coming back anytime soon. What's the point of it all if we're (probably) not going to see it? It also looked like today was the first round of Brady vs. Xander as well lol I enjoyed their fight, and I'm interested in seeing this storyline play out. Even though I'm sure that Sarah will ultimately go back to Xander in the end, I'd like to see what happens along the way, and how they and everyone around them are affected by this. Btw, Theo and Jada? Idk. I still think he had the most chemistry with Arianna. And he was a bit of a dick too. It also seemed a little out of character for Jada for her to be so OK with him being such a dick  And though Alex and Stephanie were very boring again and need much better conflict than this book stuff, I am interested in the mystery of who's targeting Alex.  And yeah, I know this is a nitpick, but why is the Square still open after the gala? Isn't it supposed to be really late at night?
    • In fairness, Hillary and Bob Woods were thick as thieves again at least by the end of OLTL. But both she and I believe Mark Derwin not so subtly dissed Kale Browne in the oral history, lol.

    • Frat Boy Jr.'s reaction to seeing Luna was just awful acting. It was so bad that I started laughing.

Does anyone have screenshots of it?
    • Geez, I hadn't heard that Doctors story. HBS really did go through it.
    • No offense to the actors involved, but dear God in heaven: I don't know HOW viewers managed to get through that storyline with Maggie, Frank, Cal and baby Jill without running into oncoming traffic.  Then, to make matters worse, they dragged poor Diana into the mess!  I don't care WHO gets that damn baby!  Just wrap it up and move ON already!
    • Poor HBS.  To have to put up with Stephen Burleigh, who stuck his knee between her legs while rehearsing a love scene on THE DOCTORS, then told the director that's what he did with his wife; Kincaid, who had more hair on his chest and upper lip than Koko the Gorilla; Kale Browne, who taped his lines all over the OLTL studio floor, because he couldn't ever be bothered to [!@#$%^&*] memorize them; and Robert S. Woods, who apparently thought it was still 1979 and that he was still smolderingly sexy, so why should Bo Buchanan be stuck being in a happy marriage with Nora?  After all that, no wonder she jumped at the chance to play a lesbian on VENICE, lol.
    • @Maxim Thank you for the mini-review and clip from several pages ago. I appreciate you using the Bo/Alex clip as them meeting again by this point was a real surprise to me. The scene has some layers, getting a glimpse of Alex genuinely wanting the best for Bo rather than gloating. I was disappointed it ended with Tina dragging her out of the room for some much less interesting sparring (I did enjoy Alex pointing out just how quickly Tina got over Cord).
