Can some one recommend a program for capturing/editing videos? I'm not too happy with the one I have (takes too long to export a 20 min. file and there are only 4 file formats to choose between), so if any of you has any suggestions, I'd really appreciate it. Thanks. 🙂

I use OpenShot Video Editor for editing but I'm not too happy with it either because it's extremely slow to export. If I'm just cutting or merging videos I've been using the Photos app that comes with Windows 10 (click Video Projects), but it's not very precise for doing other kinds of editing. I'm curious what you and others are using. Not sure what you mean by capturing videos.

I have a ton of old video tapes that I want to digitalize, but to do that I have to transfer (capture) them to my laptop. Right now I'm using a program from Magix ("Rescue your videotapes"), which comes with a cable (USB/SCART) that connects a VHS-player to a computer, but when I try to import a video it either freezes the picture or cuts off the audio. The editing software is not too bad, but like I said, it's very slow when exporting and there's not many file formats to choose from.

ETA: I just finished uploading an episode from 1999 to the vault, if you'd like to check it out.

Thanks for uploading!

I have a DVD recorder connected to my VCR, so I just use that to make a DVD and then convert it. But I know what you mean, I have one of those kits too but it's still in the box unopened. ;)

I just love 1999. I remember Stephanie's stroke and the fight in Big Bear. And that is when Eric and Stephanie got remarried. Also, the baby switch with Amber and Becky.

I have episode 1-1678 and 1801-5992 in german.

there are some missing between 1801 and 2177. But from episode 2178 to episode 5992 its everything complete in german. And from Episode 5993 on my episodes are in english because german network ZDF stopped airings in 2011.

That's really amazing! Can't wait to see them, thank you for sharing them!

I have binge-watched those episodes, especially from 1992 and I remember the last one was #1300. I skipped many of the episodes from that period when they were broadcast in Poland, so this is a very nice way to see what I'd missed. :)

I have some episodes from 1999 to 2002 that I can upload if you want them. These have subtitles though, and I don't know the episode numbers or the original air dates (are those important?).

Yes please! I have been looking for 1999 and 2000 especially!

If you have a USB capture device you can also use OBS Studio! Tons of videos on YouTube showing how to use it to transfer VHS to computer.
