So from what you all analyzed who do you all think we’re bill bells favorites? I think Caroline, Stephanie Ridge and Taylor.

I don't think Bill Bell played favorites. I think he really made an effort to develop all his characters. If there is any one character who emerges as more central than the others, I'd say Stephanie.

Yeah Stephanie. He went on about Caroline in his book. I think for Taylor he was more fascinated with hunters beauty more than the actual character.

I am at the end of 1990 in my rewatch now and to me it's almost like Taylor's character is upstaged by her beauty. Taylor's been on for six months and I still haven't really got a good grasp of her personality. Sometimes she comes across a bit like a walking sculpture. It's like she hasn't really been given a point of view yet, we get very few clues about her thoughts and feelings. She is always calm, cool and kind of an observer of the action rather than a participant.

Taylor was an observer..kind of an outsider to the dramas of the Foresters, Logans, and Spencer's.

I liked that about her...and that seems her main function up to 1994 when she first left the show.

When her dad and brother come on in 1992, you kind of understand why she's the calm and cool observer one.  She was the peacemaker in her family.  Speaking of which, it's a shame her brother Zach never came back to the show in all these years.

Have dropped better versions of the following episodes into the Vault. These are direct rips, no screen recordings:

1992-09-29 Ep# 1384 [10play full edit - Sheila vs Lauren] (other offerings of this episode in the Vault are lesser in quality)

1997-10-29 Ep# 2661 [10play full edit - Lake Como Fashion Show] (Original music tracks, longer runtime than the 2020 CBS broadcast replay)

1999-08-03 Ep# 3103 [10play full edit - Brooke vs Stephanie] (uncut original edit. The 2020 CBS edit in the Vault has a shorter runtime, the other offering is bad quality)

Can someone delete the lesser quality duplicates of these 3 episodes?

If someone could please help grab the Brooke's Bedroom episode from 10play that would be very much appreciated. This edit has the original music tracks - including Dionne Warwick on the closing credits. The episode is due to expire/disappear from 10play in the next few months. I have tried to rip but it fails. Hoping someone has better luck. Vault folder December 1998. 10play link: https://10play.com.au/the-bold-and-the-beautiful-fast-tracked/episodes/season-2020/best-fashion-shows-brookes-bedroom-fashion-show/tpv200428fwupn

Thanks! I deleted the other copies of #3103. Yours are great.

Is it possible you could add this one as well? It should be 2009-07-31 # 5,619

I was also wondering about 1996-10-08 #2393.  It is in the vault already but in low quallity (screen record). It's the fashion show where Ridge proposes to Taylor. It was one of the 10play episodes last summer, but I can't for the life of me find it on their site now. It could be because I'm not in Australia and region blocked. Just wondering if you could double check if you can find it, and then upload it in better quality if possible :)

2393 definitely looks like it's gone from 10play. Hopefully someone was able to get it in better quality before it was removed from the site.

Thank you sooo much 🙏 I've never seen those episodes. I only started watching B&B from 1997 episodes.

I hope everything went well with your operations!

And thank you so much! 🙏 I am very excited that there will be more episodes eventually - my favorite part of the show is just beginning!

Does anyone have any information did Darlene Conley use cue cards in late 90/early 00-04? Just watched some episodes from here and there and I can see her eyes wondering all over the place. Or then I am just imagining 😂

I have a question for all of you who are rewatching old episodes after several decades:

Are there any characters that you see completely differently this time around, compared to the first time you watched these episodes?

For me, the big one is Stephanie. I used to think that she was the villain to Brooke's young heroine. Now I find myself understanding Stephanie's point of view and siding with her against Brooke, and this time around I see Stephanie as the misunderstood flawed heroine, fighting every way she can to keep her family together. Meanwhile, young Brooke is clearly a pretty self-centered girl with little understanding for what love really is beyond the fantasy of it.

But I also see Eric and Ridge as a lot more flawed now than I remember.

Oh absolutely! I see them very differently now as a 40+ year old woman re-watching with years of life experience behind me than the 12 year old girl I was when I first started when the show came on the air and had no life experience in ANY area, hahaha! As a mom, I can definitely sympathize with Stephanie and her love for her children, her desperation to make her marriage work. I loathe Eric and his disregard for his wife just so he can swoon over Beth any chance he gets. I am irritated by Ridge for thinking that a mere 3 months for Brooke to get untangled from her mess of a marriage to his father is "too long to wait", and for thinking he can play god with other people's lives. You can't force someone to love another! Caroline made her own choices and rewatching the episode where Ridge begged her to not marry Thorne and she STILL said she wanted to, has made me realize that all her belly aching in the episodes to come were her just regretting her decision - not that her decision was ever taken from her. I used to think the timeline of when she could've received that fateful letter would've made a difference but in watching the show, she would've had an extra day to consider. Not once did she say "I have to marry Thorne because people are counting on me". She said she loved Thorne and wanted to marry him - period. I could go on & on :)

Agreed! I think it makes a huge difference watching this show as a mother, as opposed to watching as a little girl.

And it becomes clear how complex most characters and situations were.

I understand Stephanie's perspective but she still was a vile person.  And she did trap Eric via pregnancy.

At the same time, I'm surprised at Storm and Brooke were pushing Beth to be the other woman..when her instincts were correct.
