I have to agree with Money that it is hard to believe that Maria had no idea of the shenanigans Arnold was gulity of. Some have speculated that Maria likely did suspect that Arnold was not telling her the truth; she simply (and understandably) just wanted to believe his lies. Maria's propensity to look the other way (and hope that Arnold was being faithful) may have been the result of the fact that she grew up in a family (the Kennedys) that was notorious for containing (and tolerating the behavior of) so many promiscuous males.

Again, I reiterate that what I wrote above is merely speculation, as it is impossible to know exactly what went on in Maria's mind.

Wanting to go public after fourteen years with financial stability is extremely odd.

I'm going to sound like a total snob...but here goes.

He had an affair with the help and an unattractive member of the staff as well. That has to sting for Maria.

In all fairness.. I don't think the woman is unattractive, she's just over the hill and hasn't really been vigilant about taking care of herself (and doesn't have the money for cosmetic procedures) She looks like she'd have been quite pretty 15 years ago. Then again, I always thought Maria looked rather gaunt and bony... on purely physical appearance, Maria's no prize, either.

I think if Arnold was going to cheat..which I think is so wrong..he could have done better in choosing someone with looks.Of course I know looks arent everything....she must have been there for him. I think its more than just sex. But who knows

I wouldnt put it past her or any other woman in her position to pop holes in the thing. Doing so sets her up good for life. Just saying...
