Administrator Toups Posted May 13, 2011 Author Administrator Share Posted May 13, 2011 “REVENGE” Wealth, beauty and status define the people in this town, but one woman is willing to destroy everyone for the sake of revenge. Emily Thorne (Emily Van Camp) is new to the Hamptons. She’s met some of her wealthy neighbors, has made a few new friends and seemingly blends into the town. But something is a little odd about a young girl living in a wealthy town all on her own, and the truth is that Emily isn’t exactly new to the neighborhood. In fact, this was once her old neighborhood, until something bad happened that ruined her family and their reputation. Now Emily is back, and she’s returned to right some of those wrongs in the best way she knows how – with a vengeance. “Revenge” stars Madeleine Stowe (“We Were Soldiers,” “The Last of the Mohicans”) as Victoria Grayson, Emily Van Camp (“Brothers & Sisters,” “Everwood”) as Emily Thorne, Gabriel Mann (“The Bourne Identity”) as Nolan Ross, Henry Czerny (“Mission: Impossible,” “Clear and Present Danger”) as Conrad Grayson, Ashley Madekwe (“Secret Diary of a Call Girl”) as Ashley Davenport, Nick Wechsler (“Roswell”) as Jack Porter, Josh Bowman (“Prowl”) as Daniel Grayson, Christa B. Allen (“13 Going on 30”) as Charlotte Grayson and Connor Paolo (“Gossip Girl”) as Declan Porter. “Revenge” is written and executive-produced by Mike Kelley (“Swingtown”), along with executive producers Marty Bowen and Wyck Godfrey (“Twilight”). The pilot is directed and executive-produced by Phillip Noyce (“Salt”). “Revenge” is produced by ABC Studios.

Members DRW50
Emily Van Camp is so dull.
Members YRBB
Emily Van Kamp sucked horribly on BROTHERS & SISTERS but she seems to do well with better writing (i.e. EVERWOOD). But chances are she will blow this. As for the show, the trailer was quite the pleasant shock. ABC has been doing all its primetime soaps in the DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES quirky "comedy" mold so it was a nice change to see a trailer that suggests a more serious, dark series. Let's see, and hope!
Members JackPeyton
I think EVC is great. She isnt campy, over the top, or anything like that. She is reserved and subtle. I loved it when she was a bitch on brothers and sisters.
Members OLTL_fan
I watched the pilot online and thought it was pretty good. Loved Madeline Stowe.
Members YRBB
Just saw the pilot; it was great, dark and very promising. Emily Van Camp absolutely, totally rocked it. I love her character (there's a scene towards the end that I really enjoyed, character-wise). Even though the general concept of the show has been done before in foreign soaps, it felt fresh, fun and exciting. And very nicely shot--there were some slo-mo moments that were totally captivating, among other greatness. Madeleine Stowe was also great. A perfect balance between evil bitch and real person. Scenery was beautiful and the writing sharp--nothing mind blowing but produced excellently. I really am curious to see how, and if, this evolves. Will be reading the script as well to compare!
Members Juliajms
If the pilot is available online, I wonder if that is going to hurt ratings. I'm kind of worried since shows are canceled so quickly these days.

Members EricMontreal22
The True Blood pilot leaked about 4-5 months before the premier (with the different Tara--the girl from Passions). Didn't cause any problems--there are other examples of pilots leaking early and they don't seem to cause any probs, in fact it might be good word of mouth.
Members Juliajms
Thanks Eric, that's good to know. I'm really hoping that this show is good and manages to survive.
Members OLTL_fan
I dont understand how showing a pilot online before the TV premiere would hurt the show's overall ratings since that will be the only episode available online before it actually airs on TV. What may hurt this show is timeslot. Not really the competition, but airing such a dark show after comedies may not be the best idea. Also this timeslot is cursed on ABC.
Members alexisfan07
I don't get why they're promoting this show so heavily. The concept is tired and the only recognizable face is VanCamp. I think she's got what it takes to be a show lead but she can't carry the show by herself.
