Which man are you refering to? Vicki being molested by her father for a period (I'm sure it lasted some time but I have no idea how long) isn't larger than life, but it is life. And I thought it was well handled within the context of soap opera.

Sloan. It was implied that she was with him because he reminded her of her father, to the point of having nightmares where Sloan was kissing her only for her father to be in his place.

I was trying to explain why fans who wouldn't have objected to Eterna might have objected to a story like this. In that year or so of story I thought it was well-handled, but long-term, I do question whether it was worth it. The story was used to do a lot of damage later on.

I'm not refering to anyone in this thread--but it does make me laugh when some complain that they changed Victor's backstory and character too much with the DID story--yet these same people don't seem to take issue with him being this insane rich man who built Eterna, all the stuff that happened there, etc... Although I guess it does make Victor's appearance in Heaven seem odd.

Well, of course we don't have issue with Eterna, Eric, Eterna played out like Shakespeare adapted by Tolstoy. tongue.png

Ha, good point. We can't buy abuse but we can buy Eterna. tongue.png Yeah, re: Heaven, people said that was more fantasy and of course Victor would be in Heaven in Viki's reality. I guess fans can make what they want of that. You can even get really deep with it and say that Victor repented, confessed his sins, oh Lord...

I mean, yeah. Look at how many people in Heaven turned out to be alive laugh.png .

It started when she was seven and went on until she went off to college. and then of course he found a new "girl" with Irene Manning, Viki's college roomate.

Of course, I know this is always a problem (ie Ghost Jesse on Loving *and* AMC where Passanante had him follow Tad around for months--and then when she fled to ATWT amidst rumours of her being about to be fired, and the show had no HW for a few months, Ghost Jesse even managed to save Tad from being killed).

Sloan. It was implied that she was with him because he reminded her of her father, to the point of having nightmares where Sloan was kissing her only for her father to be in his place.

Ah, OK from that perspective I do see what point you were being made--and I do agree with the later damage, though I can't blame the regime at the time for that (too bad Higley wasn't writing then or else we could have found old 8mm home movies of Vicki/Victor kiddie porn...)

LMAAAO!

Cruel! :P I did get the link via PM--fantastic to see in such decent quality (I guess since the uploader was a cameraman for the show).

Really? Ewww. I just assumed it was when she was a kid. I didnt know he was screwing her when she was a teen. I had no clue it went on that long.

btw, how the heck did Dorian know Victor was raping her since it happened long before she married him? Did he keep video tapes or something in his secret room?

Didn't she say that he used to talk about Viki in his sleep when they were married? That was supposed to be the motive behind her

depriving him of his medicine in the hospital and killing him.

Yes, and I believe it wasn't only in his sleep. Dorian added that Victor had some sick sexual appetites that she learned of while married to him. The implication was that she wasn't just talking pedophilia.

BTW Erika Slezak and Bob Woods have both agreed to sign on to the new OLTL. just found out today. Now i really hope it goes through, i'll get my Viki back!

I'm so happy to hear that. It doesn't feel real for some reason though. I guess because most of the other cast members announced via twitter. I hope this all works out.
