There were rumors in the early 90s that AMC would move to 12:30, and sandwich Loving in the 1:30 time slot between AMC and OLTL. I remember Susan Keith (Shana, Loving; aka Mrs. James Kiberd) commenting on that in a SOD interview. This is when AMC as on fire and on Y&R's tail. I think in many markets, many weeks AMC was winning the overlapping half hour when they went head to head. She said that some focus group research showed that AMC would take the time slot over Y&R. Not sure if Y&R would ever have been knocked off #1, but it would've been interesting to see how a time slot shakeup would've affected AMC and what consequences it would've had for the rest of the ABC lineup. Would AMC's numbers risen or dropped? Would Loving have held on to AMC's lead? If not, how would have trickled down to OLTL's and GH's viewership.

If AMC had stayed strong creatively, then I think they would have handled the time slot change. LOVING, though, might have been a tough sell for many viewers, regardless of time slot. That, in turn, could have affected OLTL's ratings (although probably not GH's).

This was around 91/92. I think ABC was still trying to salvage Loving at this point, since it was when they were doing those AMC/Loving crossovers with the John Wesley Shipp/Carter Jones story. I don't think they'd quite given up on the show yet, not until the Loving murders story was greenlit a little later on and the decision was made to transition the show to The City. OLTL and GH's ratings weren't particularly vibrant during the early 90s, so I wonder how potentially losing the then higher-rated AMC as a lead-in would've impacted these shows numbers. This was when, in FMB's words, AMC was the crown jewel of ABC.

Has anyone head this? I had no clue about it until my roommate's friend was playing it yesterday.

It was released in 2014 by an up-and-coming rapper named Speaker Knockerz. He died shortly after - cause unknown - at age 19.

Just a warning: the lyrics are explicit. :)

I was reading an old synopsis the other day and apparently there was a man that gardened at the Tyler's that kidnapped Little Philip (Charlie) Brent. Does anyone know who the kidnapper was? I think it was in 75 or 76, maybe 77 I think Tom Cudahy was just starting at the same time...

Does anyone know anything about the character played by the woman known as Sylvia in Season 2 episode 19 of Intervention????

There's been a lot of fan debate over whether or not she played Betsy Kenicott under the name Carla Dragoni. Some full episodes with Betsy were put on Youtube several months back and some insisted they didn't look alike. To me they did, but I don't know.

    • True enough, and Tony and Annabelle suffer the same problem. And the people Quint and Nola had interacted with were gone--Kelly, Morgan, Helena, Mrs Renfield---even Van's been transplanted to the Lewis enclave. Nola's curiosity could've been used somehow, but after Reva's arrival it seems like Long is obsessed with selling that woman to the audience.  As originally written--no, the Chamberlains weren't stockholders anymore. At least not to my understanding. But any story where Quint and Vanessa teamed up, realizing that Alex had played them, and found some loophole to get back in to restore Henry's legacy would've been welcome. As much as I like India--Spaulding gets weird in '85 with Alex, Phillip, India and Warren fighting amongst themselves.

    • Same. And looking sooooo good.
    • Yeah this episode was actually really good. I loved SINN together against Looney
    • I can forgive them not writing a lot for Quint/Nola at Van and Billy's first wedding, given that Lisa was hugely pregnant and the other story going on was Tony's medical crisis. But yeah---Nola and Quint barely even speak to Van for that last year-plus. Not even after little Billy's born (although Nola and Van do have a nice scene, which is one of the few that they're just nice to each other) or the fallout of Van's addiction, and they flippin' leave when Billy's in a coma or right after being in one)  Even Henry goes to story Siberia. They gave them a big, new set and the promise of some Billy/Van/Nola/Quint family squabblin'--and NADA.  How COOL would it have been to see Nola side with Van and put Reva in her place? But no...NOLAROBICS. RME. Reva really needed someone outside of Josh to tell her like it was. Instead, Billy's head cheerleader. And Jon's calling him "uncle Billy", which just about made me gag.
    • 5-12   Well, as much as i've been enjoying the highs of BTG, I guess I should try to play catch up on my other soaps...lol.   I actually liked this episode. But I guess it could be because I felt there was a lot going on. Bill and Liam's talk. Luna attempting them inroads with Finn. Steffy comforting Hope over Liam. Sheila thanking Bill for helping Luna. Even a decent cliffhanger with Steffy walking in on Luna and Finn.   I know I said it before, but I don't care for the Liam storyline, but the acting has been good.
    • I enjoyed Santa Barbara from the beginning. Mainly because it was so fresh and different than the P&G soaps I was used to watching.  But there is no denying that it did not hit its stride until 1985. The writing, casting and production all finally came together. Unfortunately backstage drama then slowly destroyed the show and for me from 1988 onward it was a completely different show than the one I was a fan of.
    • Oh, really? That explains why the reveal episodes...the majority of which Zimmerman did the breakdowns for...hit perfectly. Cool! I really loved that. Background music and all.
