One more just for fun, for this actual 2000-2001 Crystal Ball Photo...

Row 4 (L to R): J. Eddie Peck as the very handsome and beadable Dr. Joseph "call me Jake" Martin; Cameron Mathison as the not yet the plague of Pine Valley John Ryan Aloysius Curry Lavery; the underrated and frankly stunning Esta TerBlanche as spoiled princess with no castle Gillian Eugenia Maria Andrassy Lavery; Walt Willey as playing a day player with no romantic interest or storyline at the time Jackson Montgomery; Marj Dusay in the deliciously malicious role of Vanessa Bennett Cortlandt; John Callahan as former heart-throb Edmund Gresham Grey (seriously, Eva should have told the once speciman of a man had to do was hit the gym from time to time); and Josh Duhamel in his all-to-short of a run as conman in leather Leo duPres

Row 3 (L to R): Abigail Spencer in the unmemorable role of Pigeon Hallow's Becca Tyree, Vincent Irizararry as the charming and oh-so-bad Dr. David Hawyard, Jill Larson as the always enjoyable Opal Cortlandt, Marcy Walker as the wasted potential at every turn Liza Colby, Michael Nader as high-as-a-kite in this photo Dimitiri Marick, the Count Andrassy; Finola Hughes as counting the days until I get written out Dr. Alexandra Devane Marick, Rebecca Budig as claws-in Greenlee Smythe soon to be duPres, and Sara Hugh as Tina "what's her face" Harding

Row 2 (L to R): Cady McClain as poodle-haired Dixie Cooney Martin, Michael E. Knight as still the man of every woman's dream Thaddeus James Gardner Martin, David Canary as the always perfect Adam Chandler, Kelly Ripa as feisty and always drunk Hayley Vaughan Santos, and Mark Consuelos as happy to no longer be an exotic dancer Mateo Santos.

Row 1 (L to R): Now legal eagle Zachary Kady (I saw him at the Georgetown Law Center all the time) as one-time cutie James "Jamie" Edward Martin, Julia Barr as the thank goodness she returned Brooke English, James Mitchell as the always handsome Palmer Cortlandt, Ruth Warrick in an all too rare 2000's appearence as Phoebe English Wallingford, the exquisite Susan Lucci as the even more perfect Erica Kane, Eileen Herlie as town sage Myrtle Lum Fargate, Ray MacDonnell as the only man who still makes house calls Dr. Joseph "Joe" Martin, Sr.; and Eden Riegel as the Bianca Christine Montgomery, Pine Valley's every woman

Not sure why it's labeled 1999 since that is actually the 2000-2001 Crystal Ball photo, as you pointed out. I love your descriptions of everyone, but Greenlee's claws were most definitely out at the Crystal Ball that year! She outed Bianca to Donald Steele. :) It's sad that Dixie's poodle 'do was actually one of her better looks. 2001 was such an awkward year. I know they had some writing changes, and it felt like they just weren't sure what to do with everyone.

I am cringing at Hilary's hair and outfit. She looks like Suzanne Sugarbaker's country cousin, or like a country singer from 1940. I don't know what was going on there.

Skye looks OK.

Pat bringing the hammer down on Jesse. They seemed to use Pat a lot in 1987

I wonder how far they were going to go with Angie and Jeff.

Pat was a huge presence in Angie's life back then, which is why it felt so glaring that they didn't bring her back when Jesse & Angie returned.

I have no idea how far they wanted to go with Angie & Jeff or why Jeff was written out. I really liked that actor and thought they could've done more with him.

I've never been a fashion expert, but I think Hillary's hair at least was the popular style in the late 1980s. The country look was popular around the time of Urban Cowboy, which I believe was at least 6-7 years before this, so I don't know why they put her in that outfit.

I loved how Brooke called out Skye & Hillary on not being professional in the workplace. How far AMC had fallen by the time the Fusion girls were having office catfights and pole dances!

I like the corporate relationships too - yes there's juvenile behavior in the workplace (here, and later with Barbara and Hilary) but at least there is a pretense of professionalism.

Did you see the episode from later in 1987 where there was another actor playing Jeff and they seemed to be hinting at a Jeff/Hillary/Mitch triangle? I also put it in the recasts thread. I never knew there was another Jeff in 1987.

You're right about Hillary's hair. I think it's hair + outfit that throw me...

I like Hillary (Hilary, or whatever) a lot. I'm sorry that she was later remembered solely as one of Tad's many exes, or some prototype Dixie.

I know Pat was around in later years too (aside from the last few, sadly - makes no sense), but for some reason most of what I see her on Youtube is from 1987. This and Natalie's rape trial/aftermath.

Is the actress still alive?

Yes, and she still does some acting. (her name is Lee Chamberlain)

In the June 1987 episode I'm watching they mention that Brooke and Jeff had recently dated. Was this ever referenced when he came back in 2005?

I'm shocked that they actually had Joe say Jeff was in love with Angie. I didn't know the story progressed to that point.

That dream sequence with the flashlights under the chins...eh...more public access than fright night.

How neat that they had music box instead of the usual AMC closing credits theme.

Thank you. Another beauty shot. This one sums up the importance of those types of shots - they add to the story in a quiet way (Natalie checking everything in her apartment, clearly worried about being attacked).

I think they missed a trick by writing out Silver so soon after this (was that always the plan or was that the strike?). She's terrifying in those scenes before and during her talk with Natalie. She's able to play the scared victim yet show us the malice underneath.

So Ross also left some brokenhearted woman behind in Pigeon Hollow (a la Palmer)? Were they talking about Elizabeth, Julie's mother? I think they said "Hope."

The guy who wants revenge against the Chandlers is a little too obvious in his evil-ness, but he's genuinely frightening.

Even with all the scummy things he did I can see why Ross was popular. Bob Gentry is very strong in the role.

I love the Donna/Natalie friendship. It just works, somehow.

Was the woman flirting with Travis some type of Barbara prototype? Oh wait, Barbara was already on the show. I guess she reminds me of Barbara, somehow. I wonder where they were going with her. The whole "red meat" conversation with Jack was amusing. I thought she was going to jump his bones.

The woman playing Ross' therapist looks so familiar to me. Is that Donna Murphy? Either way I'm pretty sure she had a bit role on AW not long after this.

Thank you again. This is actually better than I'd expected. I guess the worst of the strike started in summer.

Silver had a nice, haunting way about her. She could have gone in so many directions. How did Erica take the news of her death?

I'm very curious about this Pigeon Hollow story. What is the name of the fake preacher after the Chandlers? How did Nina escape his clutches? Who is the woman in the flashback? My guess is she's the mother of Lottie's fiance.

Is the name of Ross' therapist mentioned? I wanted to post a credit for Donna Murphy on IMDB. The site's kind of lacking as far as pre-'90s soap credits go.

Most of what I've seen of the therapist is just "she", but there are some credits up from around this point, I think. I'm not sure.

Until these episodes I didn't even know they had done more Pigeon Hollow flashbacks for Ross.

I agree about Silver. They could have done a lot with her - she could have filled the role Marissa filled. She could have even found his long lost son, if the show really needed David on that badly.

Thanks for the ending credits suggestion. I found some good synopses. From the Chicago Tribune...

By Nancy M. Reichardt, United Feature Syndicate Inc | May 21, 1988
All My Children: Jeb, who was waiting for Nina's cottage to blow up, fumed when he saw Matt rescue Nina. Nina was flown to Pine Valley, where Cliff operated to save her life and that of her unborn baby. Palmer taunted Matt that Nina is really carrying Cliff's baby. After looking at Nina's medical records, Cliff realized that he is the father of her child. Erica hired a gumshoe to find Silver. Jackson flipped when Jeremy told him that the old painting Aunt Deena sent to Jackson is worth millions.

Apparently the character's name was Jeb Tibwell but his real name was Henry Swope. His brother's name was Homer, which was what Ross was whispering in his nightmare. Homer was Lottie's abusive fiance and Ross killed him to save his mother. Makes a lot more sense than Stuart killing him. This sounds similar to the Hawkins storyline in the '90s.

Oh and I did find out the first name of the therapist: Jean.

Pat did appear on quite a few episodes of Loving when Angie and Frankie first moved to Corinth.
