Anyway, Erica's Dick Cavett interview was funny - she trashed Pine Valley and made all the citizens appear as simple hicks.

The whole town was watching that evening for their hometown girl... and they weren't too pleased (to say the least).

Apparently, a character actor, Paul Avery, that appeared on AMC in the early 1980s as bartender Hughie at Foxy's (I remember that place) sadly died in a house fire along with his wife. May they rest in peace.

Well Pluto TV Canada dropped two more episodes today... We have Kendall making her victory lap with various characters as she exits (the clifhanger of the last was Erica showing up at the Pine Cone after Myrtle convinced her that she spoke to Mona who told her to say goodbye--Erica got a goodbye letter but decided it was still more lies.) And in the breaks they advertised a new phone app at allmychildren.ircode.app where you take a photo of the episode you're watching and it gives you facts. Oh the advertisement is hosted by Susan Lucci so she continues to kinda be involved in this project (Incidentally she's going to be on the Canadian chat show The Social next week I just saw--I wonder if the Pluto TV thing will come up.) So far it just told me that these aired June 29, 30 1995 (which is good to know since Pluto TV just gives the episode number--we ended at 6585 so twenty or so more episodes and we'll be at the August 1995 episodes they started in May, hopefully they won't just loop back again.)

Still really enjoying the show, though. A couple of stray observations--it's always impressive how many characters they have per episode, I counted 13 contract characters in the first episode and 11 in the second, and we haven't even returned to the Hayley/Alec/Arlene or Janet/Laura/Trevor stories. It's easy to forget just how much they juggled at once back then.

Also, the opening segment (prologue, credits, and first "act") before our first commercial break is always around 14 minutes, something I always found to be a good way to suck viewers in. When watching current soaps like Beyond the Gates especially, the first commercial always comes like 5-6 mins in.

HA I should hate it but if I'm home I don't mind having it on as background for some reason. It is kinda squealing but I like it much more than, say, The View (which it obviously was pitched as "A Canadian fuzzier View" lol) I assume she's on Monday but they didn't give a date... (And yes, I'm sure it's to promote her book, but I wouldn't be too surprised if she doesn't mention Pluto TV?)

Jean-Pierre calls it "The Squeal" because of that overweight one with the high pitched voice. His mother watches it.

I prefer The View. One of the few American network shows that are critical of the MAGA administration.

I think The View now serves a purpose for that exact reason, but I rarely turn it on (I guess actually that's because I teach most morning's but tend to be home and just vegging out when The Social is on lol)

I've been back in Victoria for a long time now actually (God I've been on here too long.) Came back for grad school and ended up working at UVic. But miss Montreal and spent 15 years there--lived several places but mostly umm downtownish Ville-Marie area I guess? By the Atwater metro lol
