April 16, 201114 yr Member Chrishell tweeted this video cute I LOVE Shemar saying "the STREAK IS OVER...." it makes me cry everytime, the way he says it. Plus how happy everyone was for her and how pissed Kelly Ripa got when they tried to cut LaLucci off It makes me cry every single time I watch it. I've never like Mario Bartali and of course he wouldn't want soap fans. I'm sure he thinks his show will bring only upstanding respactable viewers and not riff raff like common soap viewers. His show with Gwyneth (yes I can't stand that b*tch) was excruciatingly painful and I wanted some natives to kich him and Gwyneth where it hurts.
April 16, 201114 yr Member I've never met Susan, but I was at the Emmys that year. Something I will NEVER EVER forget. Someday I will upload my pics from the nosebleed section. The most interesting part was watching the tape of it later because when you're there you're not really looking at the monitors, you're looking at itty bitty Susan standing up there on stage while you scream til you can taste blood. You don't see all the emotion that's on her face that you see on TV. And of course you don't catch things like Ingo bowing and Marj raisin' the roof. I'm so jealous!
April 16, 201114 yr Member I don't think I've EVER said this before on a message board, but I've always thought it....I was as annoyed by Shemar Moore screaming, "the streak is over," as I was by Julia Roberts' hanging all over Denzel Washington when he won his Oscar. It was as though Moore and Roberts wanted to bask in some of the limelight of someone else's big moment. I'll admit that I have felt that too, and he says it just like an actor friend of mine who is also a phoney pretty boy narcissist would say it. I think I'm mostly jealous though. I love her more than Shemar!
April 16, 201114 yr Member Honestly, I don't want the shows to be saved in any way if nothing is going to change at ABC Daytime or ABC as a whole. A few more months to wrap things up would be nice, but an indefinite amount of time stuck back in Fronsian and Sweeneyan hell? No thanks. Lee Meriwether: Beautiful words from a great lady. Do you hear the announcer at the actual awards, or is that something home viewers hear more of than actual audience members? I would've crapped my pants if I heard the voice of God booming, "Susan Lucci originated the role of ERICA KANE on All My Children......" at me. Is it sad that I know all of the actresses' clips by heart? Especially "I will rant and rave, I will scream, I will SING! I WILL SING!!!"
April 16, 201114 yr Member Is it sad that I know all of the actresses' clips by heart? Especially "I will rant and rave, I will scream, I will SING! I WILL SING!!!" No, because I do too! I can recite that clip word for word, breath for breath.
April 16, 201114 yr Member I'm so jealous! I don't know if you've ever been, but they let us plebeians in first and it's really a *moment* when they open the doors up front and the stars start shuffling in. It's got to be so weird for them to have people STARING at them watching their every move. If Susan had picked her nose, I would have caught it. I remember seeing Eileen Herlie on someone's arm being helped in, and Linda friggin' Dano flitting around like the social butterfly that she is saying hello to SO many people. She is the only person I saw doing that. This was the year AW had been cancelled. At the end of the night there were a lot of stars milling about. Once we were in the lobby we all turned around as WHOOOSH Susan and Helmet rushed by just swarmed with reporters.

You do hear the announcer but it's not as clear and echoey. Dick Clark was running the show and he'd get on the God mic and talk during the commercial breaks. For instance, at one break he said, "We've got something special coming up for you and we're going to ask that you help us out with some sustained applause..." This turned out to be the segment where they had all of the past best actor and actress winners up on stage.
April 16, 201114 yr Member While it sucks for AMC fans that the show is ending earlier than OLTL, for those who actually work on the show the timing just might be a blessing. Fortunately for them, they don't have to uproot themselves in order to go where most of the work is Even though it's nice that they are in LA, they've missed out on pilot season, and just this month, many of the pilots just finished recasting their shows. ABC is a corporation, but they made this decision months ago, so they should have given the actors the opportunity to audition for new shows, and given the producers enough time to wrap up their shows. The more I think about it, the only thing that makes sense is that OLTL was always intended to be canceled. Period. It didn't get to move to cheaper LA digs, it never went to HD, it didn't get its stars on Hot in Cleveland and Castle, it didn't get a new opening. AMC just got a new opening a few months ago, something that would NEVER have been approved had they intended to cancel shortly after. I agree. Frons had to know that AMC was in jeopardy too, and, to his credit, he tried a few things to try and save it. I was just thinking about how dumb JHC must be to continue to bring the show in over budge, when she had to realize how serious the situation was. As far as Frons goes, he what does it say about him that he knew that OLTL was in trouble too, but he didn't do anything to try and save it. Some might think it was more salvageable than AMC, but in Fron's defense, I don't think that was clear until this year, and I think the decision about OLTL happened at least two years ago, or at least at the time that One Life's producer and headwriter were given contract extensions. April 16, 201114 yr Member how does Erica's arc end though? Does she just "retire"? Erica Kane retire? Not on your life! LOL! For Erica, it's always been her elusive search for a father figure, someone to tell her she was "enough." Sadly, she'll never have that.
April 16, 201114 yr Member Erica Kane retire? Not on your life! LOL! For Erica, it's always been her elusive search for a father figure, someone to tell her she was "enough." Sadly, she'll never have that. That's why I feel the conclusion of Erica's 41 year arc is that she finally reconciles with herself and accepts herself as "enough".
April 16, 201114 yr Member That's why I feel the conclusion of Erica's 41 year arc is that she finally reconciles with herself and accepts herself as "enough". Exactly. I feel like all this "Erica Kane dies"/"Erica Kane retires"/"Erica Kane bakes cookies for her grandchildren and tells warm stories about her days growing up on the farm" stuff is coming from how we all thought the P&G soaps should have ended. It's been a mighty long time since a long-running non-P&G soap has been canceled (besides Passions). AMC and OLTL can afford to be a little flashy and hip at the end. I would have loved it if Erica wasn't kidnapped from St. Bart's but left on her own accord, in order to do some soul searching, only to return to Pine Valley sure of herself and ready to face the world on a brand new day with a brand new state of mind.
April 17, 201114 yr Member If I had had my druthers...? Erica's story would have ended with her moving to Washington, D.C. as a newly elected congresswoman.
April 17, 201114 yr Member If I had had my druthers...? Erica's story would have ended with her moving to Washington, D.C. as a newly elected congresswoman. Ooooh lord, you're gonna have to explain this one to me, Khan.
April 17, 201114 yr Member Sam Winchestwe's take on Kendall...lol Frons keeps putting his foot in his moutch each time speaks about the cancellations of AMC/OLTL. He has no clue and does not care that he put the cast crew out of work in an under handed way. Edited April 17, 201114 yr by reallyhateskateonlost
April 17, 201114 yr Member So what should be the last words spoken on AMC? It definitely should be Erica like Bob Hughes got to on ATWT You know I'm not convinced OLTL was going to be cancelled all along. I dunno just a feeling I have LOL
