I Think We Have Forgotten To some degree This is all Frons

Yeah It Would have been cool If Lucci had Publically spoken out b4 but when Slezak did it i appaulad but was worried Frons would fire her so maybe thats why Lucci Didnt and I cant fault her

Its common knowledge that Frons didnt want lucci to move with AMC to LA so she probably thought ill stay under the radar

But Now Lucci Prolly thinks 3 months left, I dont care. Heres How I feel

In some ways I think its actually jealousy that *gasp* Lucci actually has a career ahead of her and in addition to AMC while many of these others don't. And thats not a shot at Erika Slezak at all before someone reads something into that. I have as much respect for her as I do Susan Lucci. Some of the other bitter betties not so much.

But is that really common knowledge? If he seriously wanted Susan [!@#$%^&*] Lucci off the show he is far stupider or more soap-killing conniving than any of us give him credit for.

I think it's mostly just because a lot of comedians now are set only on smug, with the usual perma-smirks, that everything seems so petty, whether it is or not. That's one of the reasons why I don't really pay a lot of attention to Chelsea Handler, not because I feel OLTL is above criticism, but because that is her default mode, outside of being a Jennifer Aniston sycophant.

I think it's simple resentment that all the attention is on Susan and consequently AMC. I think people are overlooking the fact that 1.) a lot of this press would've still been happening because of the book. The fact that the cancellations happened at the same time turned it into a Susan Lucci/AMC P.R. firestorm and have made her the de facto spokesperson for both shows and 2.) AMC is going off the air first. OLTL will get it's farewell press tour afterwards and they won't have to share it with Erica Kane. Just be patient (and hope they don't announce GH's cancellation in October ).

Jamey Likes The Mob But Has Said That He Understands why most fans dont and he hated the jake story.

I dont mind Guza under EP Wendy Riche Because she kept him in check but when he got that consulting producer credit it seemed he become the EP Than JFP did

He hated the Jake story only because of Jason and Liz. And as a former fan of the show, I saw absolutely not one thing wrong with it. Soaps have killed off children many a time. And if is drives story good. Heck the kid wasn't an integral part of the canvas and was rarely seen. Where was Jamey when in one year Guza chose to kill off Alan, Emily, and Georgie 3 popular legacy characters, 2 young women with tons of story potential. He's never once called out Guzas blatant deconstruction of that show but that again is him who like OLTL has absolutely no idea what made that show what it was. KIlling off the Quartermaines, decimating most of the popular fan faves and couples on this show over the years, destroying the legacy of Luke and Laura, propping up Jason Morgan one of the most stoic unappealing character on that show as some martyr are all things that destroyed that show beyond recognition. Destroying the message of hope this show had at one time in return of turning GH into a playground for his mob fantasies. But yeah Guza like Carlavati is a great writer.

Re: the silly Lucci vs. Slezak thing, simply put, people are just drawn to bad girls (always have been, always will be) and frankly, no one else in soaps could have Susan's career (just like no other talk show host will ever touch Oprah). It's no coincidence that Lisa and Rachel were the soap super stars that they were, characters who are remembered by people who haven't watched a soap in decades. The writing for Erica was so next level with that prototype, she just shot straight up like a rocket and eclipsed them. There were other daytime favorites after her like Tina and Gabrielle, but they were all in Erica's shadow. She set the standard. And look at Alexis with her primetime and international exposure. My mom once told me how when Alexis came on the scene, she and her friends at work quipped, "Uh oh, so I guess she's the next Erica." (Not the other way around no matter what Joan Collins would like to think. :P ) There's just something about that type of character and all of the work that Susan put into her career to meet the demand and capitalize off of the popularity of her AMC role just multiplied her fame. And it does take work. I remember reading an Anna Stuart interview where she said she would ponder on putting herself more out there, pursuing outside endeavors like Susan or Linda Dano, and she said she realized she just didn't have it in her.

What I want to know is why Erika has won so many Daytime Emmys while Susan hasn't won any? This was supposed to be her year! You can tell me the audience was saying "Susan" but it sounded like "boo" to me.

And can you tell me why they canceled Profit?

Is it true the Spice Girls are breaking up?

    • I'm more than convinced she's a relative of Hayley after seeing this.

The resemblance is too uncanny.  Now if they can just persuade Debbi Morgan to play their mom we've hit the motherload.
    • It's hard to say about MBE's following.  Katherine was a mess from the start and diametrically opposite of Kayla.  Both Nina and Ava were messes too, but the material was more in their wheelhouse.  Plus, both came frome cancelled shows so that was the only option for their fans.
    • As limited as the actor who plays Tomas is, after today, I'm really excited to see the Eva/Tomas/Kat triangle pick up some speed. And, I was thinking that I wasn't gonna have to resurrect this hashtag, but yeah #FreeSmitty

    • ICAM.  KL needed to end in '93.  I'm just glad David Jacobs resisted CBS' efforts to convince him otherwise.

    • Dear Paula Cwikly and Jeanne Marie Ford,   Please write out the character of Leo Stark. It would be greatly appreciated.   Sincerely, Soapsuds
    • Oh my -- long time ago, huh??  What was the actual storyline? Here's what I recall: Susan was married to David Martin and had his baby, Dickie.  David allowed Dickie to fall off a swing-set or something, and Dickie was killed.  So a distraught Susan shot and killed David.  Julie had been having sex with David Martin, and was pregnant with his child when Susan killed him.  Then Julie named her newborn child David.  And that was really what began the big feud between Susan and Julie.  I KNOW I have a lot of this history wrong -- so anyone please feel free to correct my historical errors.  I would appreciate that very much.   Now back to Denise's Another World connection.  Although I loved Denise as an actress, I was never crazy about Mary McKinnon.  Mostly because of her completely unbelievable introduction -- two back-from-the-dead characters returning in the SAME storyline. It seemed ridiculous, and was just a bit too much for me to accept.
    • Monday's episode(what was today's before the pre emption) is posted   https://www.cbs.com/shows/video/CAD_kZcynpkzM5vrwPg77Hh5MQD3hTbH/
    • Denise had so much inherent warmth, yet also layered her work with neuroses and emotion, making sure her characters were never as one-dimensional as the writing could have been. She was one of the first high profile poachings from one soap to another, which could have been a recipe for disaster, but she worked hard and turned Lesley into such an integral part of GH's rebuilding. The show may not have survived the '70s without her.  I wish they'd done more with Lesley when they brought her back in 1996. I hope more of Denise's run at DAYS will appear. I enjoyed Denise's work on AW, in a very underwritten part - it felt like she was just hitting her stride in playing the role when she left.  We are losing so many of our legends, but in moments like this I try to just be grateful we had them for as long as we did.  I do feel terrible for those at GH as they've been hit hard the last few years.
