AMC: Hubbard birth spoilers

  • Member

YIKES :( I'm sure DM and DW will bring it but this is NOT something I want to see.

From SoapCentral

Angie's baby is stillborn. Brot finds an abandoned baby. Jesse decides to tell Angie that baby is hers. The baby is Maya's (the new young, pretty Chandler maid).

Kreizman calls this the most emotional story they've told so far on AMC; it wasn't an easy decision - pros & cons were weighed. They wanted the audience really invested in the happiness and the baby here for impact. Jesse takes Angie to the place they got married in back in 1983. She goes into labor. Something isn't right with the baby. Brot arrives on the scene. Jesse is holding the dead baby when he hears a baby cry. It's a baby that was left in Brot's patrol car. A desperate Jesse decides he has to spare Angie. Morgan and Williams are over the moon about the material. Morgan notes if Angie could see this deception wouldn't have worked. As is, she's in heaven, so happy as Jesse goes through the motions for her sake. There's a scene where Jesse returns to where he buried his child to beg for forgiveness (the cameramen were crying). Jesse wants the dead child to have the name Ellie, so convinces Angie to call the baby somehting else - they decide on Lucy. How long will this secret stay hidden? With David around who knows...

But see it's ok for characters like Ryan, JR, Kendall, Krystal, Tad & Bianca to have TONS of children they rarely see (but are conveniently used for weddings & holidays) cause it's GOOD DRAMA.

Ryan gets kid after kid, and the one kid of a Super Couple that people looked forward too(and by people I mean viewers) and were excited about gets killed and poor Angie doesn't even get to say goodbye to it.

Remind me again of the "good drama" part of this?

Nobody said all they wanted J/A to do is kiss & pray but if you can't see the HUGE difference between writing them a good in character story & the mess they're about to deal with then AMC is better off canceled.

If I'm wrong I'll admit it, but I have a feeling before this storyline is over, people will be wishing it never happened, cause it will be that bad. The acting will be stellar of course, but thats all it will have going for it

You're not wrong.

But again look who the character assassination if being happily justified BY & FOR.

We all need to write DW letters of encouragement because this story and Jesse's remaining shreds of integrity are totally riding on him. We know good and well he won't always be helped by the writing. He needs to play the DESPERATION, the gut-wrenching love and DESPERATION of this, the deceit needs to be muted by all of that to keep Jesse as far away from ruination as possible. Black folk don't do stuff like this...

I am almost convinced now that Madison's baby is going to be Frankie's. I think the faux Hubbard baby being latin is kind of genius and potentially hilarious. It's not uncommon for brown/dark-skinned people to be born light. The give away is going to be the hair.

I would go so far as to say Jesse may not be helped by the writing like at all in this storyline. K&S are awful. DW is really going to have to try and sell Jesse's desperation through his acting. Even though stuff like him literally burying his own kid seems gruesome.

Also I don't think that Madison's baby is Frankie's. These writers barely ever use Frankie even with his own family. I don't see them making Madison baby his and actually giving him a storyline. He might get a little more airtime now with this upcoming storyline with Angie/Jesse but I wouldn't be surprised if it wasn't much more than what he's been getting under K&S. Which is hardly any airtime at all.

I just feel like this is going to do irrepairable damage to J&A. This show doesn't have one good ESTABLISHED couple outside of J&A and I don't count Jerica cause they're toxic

Indeed!

And all the entire debacle will only serve to do is further assassinate Jesse on every level, make Angie look like an idiot, severely compromise Brot (and definitely end Brotalia) & ignore Frankie/Randi/Cassandra.

Exactly! I feel like this is going to destroy Jesse completely. Some say it's not OOC for him, maybe not, but it still won't do his character any favors, nor Brot's.

They are piling this stuff on with Angie and Jesse, just like various writers piled stuff on Zendall for years. I stopped being a Zendall fan a long time ago but the writers really did keep piling stuff on them. And K&S have piled a lot of stuff on Kendall as well, since Zach has died. Too much stuff, IMO.

I wouldn't want to see Angie sleeping around, but I do think it would be interesting if she divorced Jesse or at least considered divorcing him. And turned to someone/bonded/leaned on someone like David. Things wouldn't necessarily have to get romantic with those two, though I wouldn't mind it, because I think they have really good chemistry. But she could lean on him, they could bond over losing children and that could really upset Jesse. That could be interesting to watch, though I doubt we will get something like that.

Also, regarding Frankie it's downright shameful they don't use him more. If they want drama for the hubbards, keep things interesting for them then should use Frankie. He's right there, waiting to be utilized. Frankie did have a child with Mia, even though I think they are acting like that child doesn't exist. I think that I read somewhere that Cornelius said that he was told that Frankie no longer has a child with Mia, and that his storyline with her doesn't really exist after they de-sorased him.

They could provide storyline for Frankie if the brought back his kid with Mia. They could do some sorasing/desorasing on both the child and Frankie's end and make the kid like 7 or something. They can say Frankie had him when he was 19. Frankie's like what 26/27? That could work.

Frankie could have been all up in Madison's storyline with Ryan/Scott/the baby. Instead of popping out once in a while warning one of them that they better treat her right.

Frankie is someone that could drive story, but the writers don't use him. And insist on focuing on blocks of wood like Griffin/Asher instead. He is the one that the writers could use if they wanted to keep things intereting for the hubbard give them drama sometimes. they really only use Angie, (Jesse don't seen to have many storylines or much airtime outside of hi interaction with Angie. K&S is really only using Angie to drive stories for the Hubbards, while continue to have Jesse do wacky/sheisty stuff, like he also did under Prattt and they are pretty much ignoring Frankie.

Even though they should be using Frankie to also drive story. Frankie is someone that could drive storylines for the Hubbard family even if DM is away, and maybe taking more breaks at time due to her illness. But the writers won't use him and that’ not right. Especially when they give people like Griffin/Asher storylines and keep bringing on new characters and using them.

EXACTLY!

Hope we get to see more Frankie with this story, and Randi to

Please no... thought I hate that they are killing off Angie and Jesse's baby, I am confident that DM and DW will deliver some excellent performances... no need to mar the story with DV inserted too much... sorry but she can not act and it might stand out even more if she is in there trying to hold her own again DM and DW delivering possibly some of their best material.

And again baby switches DO NOT ever go away & do horrible damage.

Look at Krystal, David, JR, Jamie & Tad.

Yep not to mention the backlash GH is getting from killing off Jake. Dead baby storylines rarely ever go over well, especially one that involves someone morbidly burying their own dead baby(poor kid doesn't even get a proper burial I bet) and involves a baby switch

How many times has AMC tried to destroy Jesse only for certain viewers to HAPPILY go along with and/or justify it since his return?

But that's ok in 6 months (if AMC is still on) the very same viewers will be tearing Jesse (and Darnell) down AGAIN the same way they're conveniently "building him up" for this "story" now.

Forget the fact that you think this story is character assassination. But, would you have said the same thing 25 years ago when Brooke's daughter was involved in a hit in run because of a drunk driver? Are you against storylines where children die? Sometimes they just do tragically.

This is like McTavish writing! Are we sure she's not back in the house?

If I were back, believe me, you'd know it!

But seriously, two kinds of stories never work on AMC. One kind is the drug/organized crime cartel; the other is the baby switch.

It's harsh, but Jesse always has to be the bad guy because the show will NEVER have Angie do any wrong. She's their Mother Theresa. It sucks but I still love them.
