As far as TPTB are concerned, Jake and Cara are the endgame. Like I said, though, if viewers' reaction to Tad and Cara - which, at this point, is just a point of conflict for the "real" pairing in this story - ends up stronger than they had anticipated, the show is certain to change plans ASAP.

I could just as easily see a scenario where Tad and Cara fall in love, but are reluctant to admit as much. Then, once the issues of Amanda's continued presence and Cara's immigration status are resolved, Jake succeeds in taking Cara back. Cara, though, continues to feel the pull toward Tad, leading the two to end up having an affair behind Jake's back. Jake finds out; Jake is hurt; Jake either leaves town or agrees that the magic between him and Cara is gone; and Tad and Cara are free to reunite (presumably, for good).

The irony, of course, being that Zach turns up alive at almost the exact, same moment.

I've resigned myself to the fact that Kendall actually exists, she's actually Erica's daughter, and she's there in Pine Valley to stay. (Okay, AMC? It took awhile, but you finally wore me down.) All that I ask from now on is that she is written with some level of excitement and intelligence. Give her a worthy love interest, give her a career and a company that aren't utterly ridiculous, and give her a brain. Quit giving her s**t that absolutely no actress could play w/o looking like the absolute dumbest c*nt on Earth.

Don't hold back

That's sort of how I feel about Kendall, for the last 3-4 years. The writing has been just awful and reduced her to nothing. Kendall was such a volatile and complicated character but became a constant prop for Zach or Rylee, or a Pauline in peril.

It's tough for me to believe they'd write a major love story for Tad these days, but I'd rather see that than anything with Cara and Alf. I find him overbearing and phony.

As cynical as you are, you're being rather optimistic here. If Rylee is any indication, viewer reaction is not on the top of TPTB's list of contributing factors when it comes to telling the stories they know we want.

THE REUNION YOU'VE BEEN WAITING FOR. :jeal0002:

That's true but I think a decent viewer reaction could cause them to change direction. I don't get the feeling Frons is as welded to Tad/Jake as he is for instance to Griffin/Kendall. The Griffin/Kendall is obviously where they're going and to hell with anyone who doesn't like it but I could see them going with Tad/Cara. It's not like there's some loud drumbeat for Cara/Jake is there?

It wouldn't hurt for Susan Lucci to wear her hair naturally curly once in a while either (like in that SoapNet promo) but she's obviously more comfortable straightening it. I think Alicia Minshew's curly hair is beautiful and I don't really care for the way it looks straightened. She has a LOT of thick hair and she'd have to "thin it out" (cut it) in order to straighten it easily and without looking like a super long ironed out brillo pad. Relaxing it would [!@#$%^&*] her [!@#$%^&*] up.[/edumacated member of the Sideshow Bob tribe]

I think Tad/Cara is one of the wisest moves the show has made in a long time. It instantly renewed Tad's viability on the canvas, he could have easily headed into "we've run out of story for him" territority at his age with minimal compatible love interests left and no Dixie to fall back on. There are moments where the whole thing seems rushed and forced but Tad and Cara's chemistry trumps that. Tad's comedy also fluorishes in positive situations, like romance or when around his nearest and dearest, and though it always leans towards the snarky, it never sits right in dark, cynical situations. I like Cara but she hasn't been around long enough to invest in, I'm more pleased about what this will do for Tad.

Griffin doesn't feel like a long term character to me. He also needs to lighten up, even his scenes with Cara don't really show a happy go lucky side to his personality. Has he ever even laughted or smiled? There is a moody, quiet energy about him reminiscent of David's early days and David's romance with Erica lightened him up and showed his tender side like Kendall will most likely do for Griffin. But I think they need to give him a little silliness (not corny Scott silliness) in order to make him a little more interesting if they want to sell him and Kendall if I watched this on dvr their scenes would get the FF with the quickness.

I agree. AM looks way better with the curls. Straight hair seems to be in right now, but I've always liked think curly hair like AM's. Maybe because my own is straight and thin. It's hard for me to imagine Lucci with curly hair. I'm so used to the look she has now.

I like Cara way more than I thought I would. I don't want her with Jake or Tad though. Both Martins annoy me these days. I think Cara/JR would be a better match.
