These unexperienced actors are pretty much thrown into the gauntlet here. They are taping in one take, with little to no rehearsal, with people they do not know, and taping multiple episodes a day. I doubt he is going to be this fantastic actor, but i am sure with a little experiance he will be much better than he is. I think the girl who plays Abby is already improving.

Yeah, that's often forgotten - daytime is cruel. Even seasoned actors find the schedule harsh. Expecting a newbie to hit the mark right from the get-go is expecting too much.

I thought Francisco San Martin did a little better as Dario in yesterday's show. There's still lots of room for improvement but it's a start.

I like Brady & Melanie......

Am I crazy, or is Dario's intro pretty good?! His scenes with Melanie were awesome, and for a never-before-mentioned sibling, they actually did a nice job covering up and explaining why he hasn't been around. It's bound to be a bit clunky, but I thought they explained it well!

I think Melanie/Dario could become a good couple. Dario's owes a lot of money to bad people and that's why he's stealing. Melanie, who's down in the dumps, needs a spark in her life. Since Melanie used to deal with bad people and scheme her way into money, so she agrees to help Dario. During this adventure, Melanie/Dario become close but Melanie's not ready to move on. So for now, it's a partnership - Melanie helps Dario pay off his debt and Dario helps Melanie have fun again. Of course along the way, they get into situations that brings them closer and closer. Melanie runs into someone she knew form her past - someone who her dad pimped her out to (someone not too old, maybe early-mid-30's). Dario learns more about Melanie's past and we also learn more about Dario and his family. Dario gets hurt and Melanie, being a nurse, helps him with the injuries. We get the shirtless scene, Melanie bandaging him up, there's tension. However, there's no kiss in this adventure because it is the build up to the first kiss six or so months down the road. They also get into fights, disagreements about what schemes to do or how one of them screwed up on the plan. We also get some fun bantering. And that's the beginning story for Melanie/Dario - Mario (okay that's a bad name for them!). LOL

EJ/Taylor, however... unless they're going for a gold medal in the Constipated Staring Olympics, give it up.

How bad was that last scene in yesterday's episode - they both are leaning on the door, hand-to-hand, and then we get the split screen. LOL

He's Miguel Lopez-Fitzgerald! He has the bad acting traits of: head movement to the side, or the eyes looking to the side, the constant move eyebrows to show expression, the shaking head.

I definitely think Brady/Mel only belong together as friends. They have sort of a Jack/Sami quality to me, I think. The same way they were there for each other during the whole Jennifer and Brandon debacle, I'd love for Brady to get there for Mel during this whole Dario stuff, her for him on whoever it is he's getting involved with. I don't know, Taylor? Are they gonna make this a like, a sept-angle?

I also like Dario a lot and think it's too soon to judge his acting ability. But I did think he had a lot of fire in him with the Mel scenes and I liked his interaction with FakeRafe.

I like Dario a lot also. I thought he was very good for his first couple of days. I like the new Abby also. She has a lot of spark. I remember when Nicole first came to Days. All the fans hated her. I thought she was a terrible actress then. But look now- she is one of the best. They can get better. Give them time.

That's definitely true! Arianne Zucker used to be pretty laughable wandering around Salem Place all the damn time. And speaking of the past -- I've spent the day watching episodes from 1996 on YouTube, which have been utterly fantastic (and also LOL in all of their JER ridiculousness). But it left me wondering where the good damn Ivan is! Can Vivian mention him at least once?!

Brady/Mel as friends for sure! If this show is for some reason still around in 10-15 years, maybe I could see them going romantic, in that "We've been friends so long and we're the only ones who have each other's backs" sort of way. But right now, the big bro/little sis vibe is terrific. There was a lot of life in their scenes, even in the actual writing!

Toups, I like your ideas about Melanie and Dario. Hopefully we get something along those lines. There's some possible fire, there.

I'm gonna give Francisco San Martin a chance. He's already better than Natalia. Something about his voice is a little stiff -- like he's disguising an accent or something?

Also, if Dario ever hooks up with Will, we will get WARIO.

I just love Melanie! I love how her future seems to be shaping up post-Nathan. I think her & Dario could be great!

I was so against the Hernandez family being expanded but I'm digging Dario so far, I like both him & Gabi. Rafe..still no. Never.

Thanks, man. After their scenes on the pier, I couldn't stop thinking about them as a pairing and what their storyline could be. I instantly clicked with them and knew what I wanted to do them. LOL
