I wouldn't say there are no beats to the story, it is almost all beats and nothing else. It is like we just were given the headline for each item and then quickly on to the next item. It was just glossing over everything in rapidfire succession. It is the skeleton of a good story, it just needed more time--especially the Josslyn part.

Oh don't you know? This will all be about how JASON saved Josslyn's life because JASON wanted her to have the kidney JASON talked to Lucky and Liz so JASON is to thank. Liz is just that calculating nasty bitch who REALLY wanted Josslyn to die because she's just SUCH a selfish ho!

MICHAEL:

So with Jossyln being in dire straits, does it reunite Carly and Jax, or are they still at each other’s throat?

LAURA:

Neither, right now. They are very united on how they love their daughter and how they handle this, but the characters are not back together. I don’t think they are telling that story yet. I do think it will happen, but I think they are going to tell some other stories first, and then we will get there. Last week I had some scenes where I work with Ingo a lot in a very nice way. I know there is lots of talk about me and this Shawn guy on the Internet.

MICHAEL:

Yup, that is what I wanted to ask you. What about Shawn the bodyguard, played by Sean Blakemore, and Carly as an item?

LAURA:

I don’t know. You will see me on-air with him a lot more in the next few weeks. But again, it’s nothing at all romantic. I don’t know if they are going to go that way, and I don’t know if they know.

MICHAEL:

Would you be cool with the pairing if it were to happen?

LAURA:

Of course! Please, but there has to be a story. Do I love Jax/Carly? Yes, I do. And do I love working with Ingo? Absolutely. But there has to be a problem there. Happy is not a story and fighting over the underwear drawers is not a story. It is not a daytime story. Look, I love being the Rachel and Ross of daytime with him, because we have so much fun bickering and playing, but if they can’t make that interesting I would love for them to have us on the run, or some kind of spy stuff, and Carly gets jealous and tries to take over. You can be funny and play funny, but only that can last so long. Like any great daytime couple, they might just want to break us up. And that is very hard for me to think about, because I have only been with Ingo since I started on GH. So it is very hard for me to think of someone else to work with, as I have a very comfortable working relationship with Ingo.

MICHAEL:

I think it would be interesting to see Carly with a new man! Somebody she has not been with over and over and over again!

LAURA:

And what is also interesting is why would she want to be with someone. Sean is a great guy. He is good actor, and super funny. He comes to work prepared. We have a good time working together, but I am telling you, we have had nothing romantic on any level at all.

MICHAEL:

Are you not playing that underneath as your sub-text in scenes with him?

LAURA:

No, actually I am trying to play 100% against it, because I want it to come from a real place. I don’t want it to feel forced or telegraphed, because then it is not interesting. You know, when Ingo and I first worked together, not much of this was scripted in terms of we kind of flirted in the scenes on our own. I went upstairs and I said, “Why don’t you put Carly with Jax? He is this… and this. .and… he is taller.”(Laughs). And they go, “OK”. And within a couple of weeks they started the love story. I have had a great time working with Ingo, and how it came from flirting and playing. You could write a really interesting story with Carly and Shawn, because of how we are working together right now, and it could turn into something, but it has to come from a real place. I have been doing daytime a long time. I am a fan of daytime television and it’s the journey of the love story that is interesting.

I don't believe LW when she says she wouldn't have a problem being paired with Shawn. She was practically doing black flips to assure there was nothing romantic coming up between them.

All of that may be true in real life Remos, but this isn't real life. This is a soap opera and the problem is, it's missing the soap. They are all about long arching storylines that involve good drama. All of this was handled in two days. Maybe it's realistic, but it certainly doesn't give the viewer ANY time to connect to anything. Not to mention the fact that they can't even be bothered to focus on Lucky and Liz, Jake's REAL parents.

Also, Cheap you're right. That was just dumb having them page Monica. Because now we know she's in the hospital...And you don't think she would know about Jake being brought in? It was dumb.

Yes, but look at how many POV's are being expressed? We're used to having maybe 2-3 in any given episode or even story arc, but here we're having almost every main character involved in these tales with their own expression of pain/hope. I can't remember the last time this cast felt like a true ensemble.

I also think fans are so victriolic about Carly and Jason that it's being overlooked how little they are on in this compared to other stories they've been in. Lucky has been getting tones of opportunities to speak. Liz has the major share yesterday and a huge part of the show today. And no matter how people feel about Liason/LnL2, Jake has THREE parents and always has. All three deserve the opportunity to grieve and to be shown doing it.

As for Monica, Jake means nothing to her except a cute kid who may or may not have visited Tracy and Luke at the mansion. I'm sure she'll feel for the family but it doesn't involve her in any way.

Thats what I thought. It was kinda tacky of them to do that knowing she wont be on. If she were at the hospital, I can just see her bumping into Jason seeing him distraught and inquiring about it. That would have made sense to get her involved for a segment or 2.

I think it's rushed cause they were writing Becky out but now that she's staying, hopefully we'll see more of the reactions in her post-renewal appearances

I think its a mess with or without her staying. If anything her staying means they'd have more time to spend on this. They should have started the cancer storyline back in January and then go into Liz's part with the crash this month. Liz wasnt needed for the cancer stuff, but they could have tied her exit into it with the stuff playing onscreen now.

I agree. It would have been a nice touch. Despite the bumps in their relationship, Monica has always loved him. That would have been nice. A small scene where she was comforting him.

And I still don't see why Tracy gets to know but Monica doesn't. I can understand Edward because he's old and lost a lot of people. But Monica should know.

Monica doesn't even know Jake - she's got no interest in him.

As for Monica knowing, what's the point? Another name on a crypt to visit? Another lost opportunity to think about? That's just cruel. The time for Monica to know was when Jason found out and Jake was still alive, not now.

I agree she shoud have known long, long ago.

But I still think she has a right to know.

And in a perfect world, we'd get to see Monica be hella-mad at Jason for not telling her. She'd feel empty and hit the bottle HARD. Now THAT'S a direction I would have liked to see this storyline take.

When Liz slapped Jason...I was like "Didn't you *want* him to stay out of Jake's life" But, then on the other hand. I'm glad she did slap him. Cause, he still had no business asking her for Jake's kidney! Let the woman grieve first. Seriously. :(

Yeah, everyone expects liz to be a-ok...Uhm her THREE YEAR OLD SON JUST DIED! Back the f*ck UP you organ harvesting vultures.

Monica stays mad at Jason maybe two eppys she forgave him quickerthanthis for being responsible for AJ and Emily's death on a real soap Monica would be brought into this whether she knew who Jake was or not is of no consequence for drama to occur. Guza won't have Monica do anything but kiss Jason's ass so it would never happen on this show. I'm a huge Monica (and AJ) fan and never liked how she was written re: AJ, Jason the pimp hand was just too strong.

On a more positive note, though...

The pacing may be AWFUl. But the acting is really good. Becky has by far moved me the most. Followed closely by JJ. But even Laura Wright was FINALLY subtle in her acting. And I enjoyed her.

Tony Geary and Jane Elliot also did very well, and they work well together as support-systems.

Even JMB did well, and it was more in what Lulu DIDN'T say that got to me.

However, I do wish Bobbie was there for her family. As well as Lesley and Audrey.

We hear ALL the time about how Audrey is with those kids...But yet she wouldn't be there for Liz?

We can reasonably assume Bobbie and Lesley have relationships with those kids...But yet Lesley isn't there for Lucky, and Bobbie isn't there for Lucky OR Carly?

The pacing and the plot-holes are very glaring. But the acting has been good. I think this is the BEST acting Jason Thompson has done.

I agree. I have nothing but good to say about the actors in this story.
