OLTL: Discussion for the week of January 31

Whenever I see Aubrey and Cutter, my mind fast forwards to the end of this story where the naughty duo finds their hearts and become "good" and predictable generic characters, you know? Like, how is their longterm projection anything interesting or new? I find the prospect of what's going to happen with Vimal (who looks like he might go over the deep end or maybe even find his balls, who knows?) and Rama (will she help Clint destroy Aubrey, will she cheat on Rama with Clint, who knows?) more interesting that what I think will be nothing new with Cutter and Aubrey. Cutter is Brody 2.0 as far as I can see it, sure I could be wrong. And Aubrey, I mean, the list of similar young females who start naughty and become generic is an OLTL/AMC staple.

**Diane and Christiane have cut in for a Special report re: Egypt, but now we're back...

Giving relationship advice is such a bad look on Langston.

You know, I'd *almost* think there was some poetry to Joey always humping the food out of Kelly's throat, you know, a loving "Spit it out already!" kinda thing.

Don't have many comments on the Joey/Kelly scenes since we apparently missed the most pivotal one. I get that Joey isn't sure how he feels and Kelly just told him that she still has feelings for him, but really? I need him to not look so confused so often. Always like he's doing a difficult math problem in his head. Geebus, Kelly is goofy. I mean, I get that she was always the weird and eccentric Cramer, but she's so insecure about herself. I guess I'll give GT kudos for playing something the opposite of Dinah (it's almost like she's playing Sharon Newman, the horror), but sometimes I'm not sure that Kelly's elevator goes all the way to the top

So I guess some OLTL scriptwriter really likes the word 'bitch' considering how often it has been used lately? Thank goodness Clint now has the upperhand on Aubrey and Cutter, but I have a feeling that won't last long.

I don't care about James, Michelle, Starr or Langston. It's really unfortunate how much promise Starr had and how they absolutely killed it and made her one of the most boring and annoying teens in daytime.

Nice Nat/Jess wedding moments, but did Natalie really say "Roxy used to call me a princess"? Umm, what? When was that? Someone on the writing staff needs a history lesson.

Also, John's place is really DISGUSTING. It just looks nasty.

Yay Marty!

OLTL's been the campest ABC soap for a long while now, so I don't think "gaying ti up" is a new thing. It is strange about the lack of male viewers--though all the male viewer numbers (Y&R aside) are pretty close, but in the past few years it always seems like they are going after more of a male demo--shirtless men aside (though I'm surea large percentgae of male viewers are gay)--the quicker scnes, pace, focus on cops and moody macho guys...

She's very poorly cast. Not only can't she act, but it seems we're genuinely meant to think she's a nice girl with no ulterior motives and she jdoes NOT come off that way especially when she talks to Starr. They couldn't find any other starving young actress in New York for the role?

Word to both--I don't see any Brody in Cutter, but it does seem like a Jared re-tread.
