AMC: ex-GH actor joins the show

Soaps In Depth has learned that Réal Andrews (ex-Taggert, GENERAL HOSPITAL; Walker, AS THE WORLD TURNS) is returning to daytime! The actor -- who most recently played Keith on the Web soap THE BAY -- is headed to ALL MY CHILDREN as Agent Trumble! Although Andrews is currently scheduled to appear in 7 episodes, word is that the role could become a recurring one.

It is great to have Real back on the soaps. I hope the role turns out to be a steady gig for him.

I think that's cool. Maybe this role might turn into longer term for him. I think he might be introduced to investigate Zach's murder by the bad casino people. If he ends up staying long term maybe he could end up being paired with Liza or somebody.

I could very easily buy him as kin to Mayor Blanco. Hm, maybe they should have brought him on as Adrian Sword instead. ^_^

He will begin shooting this week with scenes airing the week of February 18th, 2011. According to Andrews his new character is named Agent Trumble, and will have interactions with Amanda [Chrishell Stause] and Jake [Ricky Paull Goldin].

Thinking about it, Real and Jaime Lunar would be a beautiful looking couple. It is makes sense that since Trumble is an investigator that he would work with Liza so of course, this being ABC/AMC, it won't happen.

Ah, so he will be with immigration. Makes sense. Good addition! I remember liking him on GH back in the late 90's when I would watch quite regularly. Also its always nice to see the show become more diverse. Hopefully he turns into something permanent.

Roark and Billy - both such stunning men. I did not remember that Billy was in that ill-fated Sopranos prequel. Paulie should never be that hot.
Jeff Eagle passed away in November 2025. He had parts on DAYS and Dynasty. I wasn't sure if you knew or not for any files you have as he wasn't exactly a big name in the mainstream - I saw it mentioned on Rialto Report as he was a '70s porn stalwart under the name Jeffrey Hurst. They also had a number of nice headshots of him. That site is NSFW so if you don't want to go there and ever need any I think several are also available through Google image search.

Spin-offs only really work when they're not just an extension of the mothership. Early on it just seemed like Port Charles was General Hospital Pt II, so essentially an attempt at a 30 minute extension without directly tagging it onto the mothership (as AW had shown, that experiment didn't end up well). You could argue something like The Bold and the Beautiful is a de facto spin-off from The Young and the Resless, even down to similarish names. But still different enough to be interesting to be separate entities.

I recall reading that, during RKK's first stint on Another World as Sam Fowler, he threw a chair at Sandra Ferguson (Amanda), and that is why Charles Grant's Evan Bates and Amanda started their affair, as she no longer wanted to work with him (RKK, obviously!). Gee, I can't imagine why!
Which makes me disgusted that RKK continued to get roles after s.hit like this.

Another World Discussion Thread

Well, Rachel was on the show from 1967-1999, a total of 32 years.
Aunt Liz appeared 1964-71, 1974-1986, late 1987-1993, and then for a few months in 1994. If you add up the years in which she appeared, it would be 26.
Ada, was on the canvas from 1967 to 1992, or 25 years.
Those are AW's three longest running characters, and Rachel has Liz and Ada beat.🙂

Yeah, I 110% believe Lisa on this. There's been stories about RKK from both DOOL and Another World. I don't think it's a coincidence he got the boot once Kristian Alfonso got back - she definitively would've had the power to get him fired pronto. It's a shame from a story perspective, because as I said it took away any question who Bo would end up with.
But of course, his abusive ass deserved to get booted. It's just a shame it didn't happen earlier to maybe establish something between Lisa and Peter Reckell before Kristian made her comeback as Hope.

They definitively could play a bit with perspectives on these small sets instead of having the background lead directly out to a balcony (which is never used anyway). Then again, I suspect the reason they do these "box" apartment sets is because they're just easier to redress and re-use which they obviously have to do (ironically, I think Beyond the Gates have the opposite issue where they've done somewhat unique living spaces, but it makes them harder to re-dress for other purposes).
