According to set sources, Alden had a very bad accident while vacationing in Mexico. She was snorkeling and a boat's propeller struck her. It was touch and go for awhile, but she pulled through. She's probably out temporarily so she can recuperate fully. She'll undoubtedly be back.

Oh wow. That's awful. Hope she has a speedy recovery.

I had a feeling he would move to GH when Valentini started. Interesting he joined before Valentini. Wonder which director: Ludel, McKinsey, Renfore, Xavier will leave once Frank starts. I'm thinking maybe Phideaux Xavier, who will move to DAYS and reunite with Lisa De Cazotte. Ludel's been there the longest so I hope he stays and eventually gets to direct the last GH episode, but longevity means nothing since they basically pushed Michele Val Jean out. Renfroe could stay since he knows Frank.

B&B's associate director Clyde Kaplan was credited as "additional location footage directed by" or sth. like that this week on B&B...

No, they didn't. Aside from Sheri Anderson, Margaret DePriest and Pat Falken Smith, no one's ever really gotten DAYS.

Thats your opinion. Their ratings were not bad at all. Post JER 1 they are the ONLY pair of writers that was close to JER and gave the viewers that JER flavor of storytelling,

You know when I first saw him listed as director I was wondering the same thing. Move over Mab

I have tremendous respect for The Young and the Restless but I have never quite understood its consistent number-one status in the ratings.

Until recently, Y&R was everything shows such as SANTA BARBARA weren't. It was consistent, it was old-fashioned (and I mean that in the best sense of the word), and it was above pandering to anyone. That is why it has been number-one.
