but you can't really go by a bunch of fly by night kids on Facebook.

I think the general Facebook OLTL poster is far more representative of the millions of casual viewers than those of us who post daily on the smaller populated soap boards.

I wasn't suggesting either group was representative of the general offline base. I do think that Facebook is only representative of casual teenagers who might tune in for a shirtless hunk or a musical guest or a single teen couple, and they don't last. Such is the nature of social media.

Ah if only OLTL Facebook was all casual teen viewers but having spent some time on that site recently I actually saw way more adult women posting their views. The poor little Ford boys isn't all teens gushing but many MOMS.

I do wonder just how successful the efforts to make viewers dislike Matthew have been, because even at boards that are not fond of the Fords, like TWOP, there were some complaints about Matthew being a dick and so on.

And David Gregory has made BU as intolerable as him, and I have been one of her biggest fans in the last couple years. Her character has been decimated.

She went from being a WAY more tolerable alternative to Starr to WAY worse than Starr in a year.

I know right, killing Clint would be such a major fuk-u to the fans, and yes I know a lot of fans already feel they're getting that with the way he's being written. Killing someone off is so less interesting than forcing people to deal with him. You don't have to be trite and try to redeem the dude, but why can't we explore the life of a character who is just a plain jerk. I mean, it's seemed to have worke for Todd. And once again, killing off this "monster" isn't going to make me like the Ford boys any more. And if you doubt that's what the shows been trying so damn hard to do, look closer.

Evidently, I missed the scene where Langston told Ford that they had to wait 6 months before having sex. I was so  and  by the way she was suddenly being written like Flo Castleberry going gaga over the sight of male flesh. Realizing the whole deal with Ford thing, it made a little more sense, yet through it all it's she who comes across looking like the weak one who's having trouble sticking to her guns while there's nary a scene of Ford showing the slightest signs of his sex addiction. THEN they have Langston say that she'll sleep with him if he doesn't fight ( :o and young girls watch this sh!t??) but our Hero Ford politely laughs off such a sweet notion, he cares for her far too much for that. "Awwww!! " <_< You know, if they insisted upon explaining Ford's issues away and making him a misunderstood nice guy, at least give him a new girl. I realize that this is a soap opera and by no means an example to live by, but there are so many young (and old!) girls out there who give assholes second third fourth and fifth chances, Langston should have wiped herself clean of that mess and started anew.

Eddie was brought on for the sole purpose of forcing us to like the Ford's, well guess what OLTL, I hate them more, I liked Eddie, from all those stupid photo shoots, that off key out of tune SN promo and all the airtime, I can not stand any of them or the brainless twits who love them, this story of who killed Eddie better get rid of at least a couple of them and the ones who survive should take a nice long vacation, I want to see vets and actors who can act

That sums up the Ford mess for me. I'm still incredibly disappointed that the show took Langston, one of my favorite younger characters, and completely ruined her by pairing her with the man who humiliated her and abused Jessica. As for whether facebook is representative, who the heck knows. Maybe it's becoming more representative and that's why Fang is so promoted. The ratings don't suggest the target audience is piling onboard for the abusefest or said another way- the saccharine instant redemption of Bobby Ford now in love with the oh so hot and desirable Langston.

Leccia's work on GL was uneven, but she had her moments when she was paired with Crystal Chappell, and also a few of her scenes with RPG. She was also good in a supporting role, as a wisecracking porn actress, in an indie movie, with Wes Ramsey and a few others. I don't know why OLTL needed to make her this doe-eyed victim. OLTL does not do female ingenues all that well, at least not once they get past the age of 18 or so.

Well, he is kind of an ass these day, but I like him anyway. It could be much worse.

I watched JWS on Dawson's Creek, too and enjoyed both performances. Shipp reminded me of Roscoe Borne's performance, he too totally embraced Mitch's evilness and it was liberating. There wasn't a hint of nuance of good in either character and the actors "got that basic thrust" and ran with it.

So shoot me, I found JWS far more watchable than the rest of the Ford gaggle of lousy actors and far better psycho than MW's Eli, too.

I've loved JWS in the past--on Dawson's he was fine, his old GL work, and of course he was the first psycho I ever knew on a soap during his run as evil but slightly misguided Carter Jones on AMC/Loving (i wish some of that was on youtube). I haven't revisited that stuff, I didn't save any of it and it doesn't seem to be online, but I remember him being veryt compelling. With OLTL he just from the get go made WTF acting choices IMHO--and maybe I should blame the writer, EP and director for htis at least as much as him--mayeb they wante dhim to be as over the top as possible. But unlike Borne who even with awful material makes it work for me, this did not work.

First that weird accent and way of emphasising words. And then he had this campy almost gay (I hate to say especially since some like to brign up JWS's sexuality and I think that's irelevent to wehat kinds of characters he can play). When he swished his hips talking about how the boxing match needed a bit of "tail"? I dunno he never even seemed threatening--if I were Ford I'd just look at him and giggle.

The rumors would seem to imply that the show wants him but the network does not as he is not "sexy enough." I think he's got as much potential for teen adoration as Jonathan Jackson did at that age, provided they stopped dressing Matthew like Evil Reggie from Archie Comics and doing his hair with shoe polish.

This is what confounds me. Don't they realize that for years the kinds of guys young teen girls, and evcen older teen girls often go to, at least as much as the "bad boy" cliche, isn't what the networks deem as sexy?? I mean for God's sake look at Justin Bieber who makes Matthew seem like He-Man in comparison.

JWS seems to be attempting some sort of weird Cawfee Tawk accent, either that or he's Ted Kennedy reincarnated.

That was NOT remotely a Boston accent.

Roscoe sold a more menacing Mitch in the first part of last year's story but by February he was a campy, (forgive the cliche) gay old villain hamming it up big time onscreen. I enjoyed Roscoe b/c he embraced the character's craziness with open arms and ran with it. That's how I feel about JWS he was going for flat out low class NUTCASE high as a kite most of the time. Eddie was popping pills like candy so I am sure we'll find they were some form of speed which had his engine revved all the time.

So is it actually not a Whodunnit?

No, it looks more like a Whocares?
