Members Ann_SS
LOL! Unfortunately, true. AMC is predictably tedious.
Members DCY
I'm really looking forward to LH on AMC too! Really looking forward to her scenes with Griffin and Jake. Amanda has annoyed me a lot lately, so I wouldn't mind if Cara tried to get Jake back. Amanda and Jake just don't interest me at all anymore. THIS! I definitely agree! AMEN to that! Members Khan
For me, the sad part is that AMC chooses to play Madison's pregnancy like a weepy Bette Davis melodrama from the 1940's. Sure, the fact that Ryan possibly has another baby "on the outside" is bound to affect his and Greens' relationship in some way; however, if neither Spike's nor Emma's existence is keeping these two apart, why should Madison's baby-to-be? Her whole I-will-suffer-in-silence routine is just so cliched and unnecessary. He isn't. When you get right down to it, Ryan Lavery is like every other male guest on "Maury," but with more well-defined abs.
Members DAYSjunkie1987
Uh, name me one character on any soap that is. Exactly.
Members Khan
There was a time, though, when you did have soap characters w/ morals and/or conscience. When men like Ryan Lavery didn't have several babies by several different women. So, if anything, Ryan is indicative of what has happened on daytime as a whole. Members Pine Charles
True. It seems every soap character nowadays lacks a conscience. I think the point here, though, is that Frons the writers have almost every character act as though Ryan is a Saint, God, SUPERHERO! It's like no character can talk smack about what a douche he is.... besides David (a.k.a. Satan).
Members marceline
Yup. If daytime wasn't infected with Baby Rabies we wouldn't have all these kids running around. It's like they only know how to write baby drama. Frankly, I'm sick of All These Children. Emma, AJ, Kathy, Jenny, Miranda, Gabby, Spike, Ian, etc... and now both Angie and Madison are knocked up. Half the conversations on the show are about these kids and Opal seems to have nothing better to do than babysit everyone's plot point brat while they hook up to make more plot point brats. They should change the name of this show to All These Hillbillies.

Members Khan
ICAM, Pine Charles! Having characters regard other characters highly does not work when their actions almost always say otherwise. But you've heard the writers' excuse, right? That they'd love to write other kinds of stories, but their bosses at the network(s) won't let them get too "controversial"? Yeah, I don't buy that either. Members marceline
So women who know how to use contraception is controversial? I'd give anything for these writers to do a Comic-con style panel where they had to answer questions from the fans. What cowards they are.
Members Khan
Yes, because the pro-lifers / anti-birth control-ers would pitch a bitch. And as we all know, those are the ones solely keeping these shows on the air. [/sarcasm]
Members LeClerc
I worry there's another child on the way too: Jake and Cara's. I read an interview with LH last week where she said that some secrets come out early on when Cara hits town but that the big secret won't be revealed until until much later. Given how predictable and uncreative D&D are, I can't help but think that big secret is a kid.
Members ER Tosh
As the age of people having their first child seems to get a little higher than in years past, soaps do not reflect this reality at all. Is there any character that has been on a soap for at least ten years that does not have a child? (Besides Greenlee I guess)
Members ER Tosh
Now this I would love. The Soap industry seems to be one of the rare forms of entertainment that still gets to "hide" from it's fans.
