Members Sylph
For, like, a week and then it slips back into...
Members dm.
Hahhaah, it is a mixed bag. But it has more shining moments than Y&R.
Members DaytimeFan
Exactly and that's good enough for me. B&B is like Burger King, McDonald's or Pizza Hut...not good for you, not gonna kill you, fun while you're enjoying it, leaves you empty shortly afterwards and I always come back for more! Members sheilaforever
ICAM. Brad writes some lame and insulting stuff but when he is on fire, the show is just great. And even if it's dreck it is somehow compelling, if even on a very low score.
Members Sylph
I think that, actually, people's expectations changed. Or, better, settled. People who still watch B&B don't expect a single thing different from what we've had in the last decades: truckloads of bullsh!t and offensive horror sprinkled with a bit of genuine great moments. Members DRW50
Mostly I wish there could be a moratorium on "very special" stories which are, at best, stupid and patronizing, and at worst, dangerous, like telling us that suicide is noble or that Alzheimer's leads you to become a rageaholic psycho who ends up being drowned in the pool. Members Sylph
Bradley does need to stop thinking he can out-GH GH.
Members Evan
I'm happy for the actors and production staff, because nobody wants to become unemployed during a recession, but B&B for me has been stuck in a rut for the last few years(albeit with the occasional really good episodes now and then). The cast is too bloated for a half-hour show, and the writing has become recycled and frankly predictable! Changes in both those areas have to be made, I think! Administrator Toups Posted November 30, 2010 Administrator Share Posted November 30, 2010 But he doesn't do what GH does. GH does big violent stunts, while B&B goes for the emotional episode. Plus, he beat GH two years in a row now.
Members Sylph
Emotional? LOL. I mean... Nevermind... I didn't say he was doing violent, mob 'event's, it's the stunt part that's the same. Emmy-baiting crap.
Members DaytimeFan
I kind of like how JFP and BB are really the only two who are 'in it to win it' with their stunt episodes.
Administrator Toups Posted December 1, 2010 Administrator Share Posted December 1, 2010 Okay, so he's playing the game. Why should he stop thinking he can't out GH-GH when he's won 2 years in a row. Maybe GH should copy him and do an emotional episode for their emmy-bait episode.
Members Sylph
Yes, it would be fabulous if there were more sh!t like that. It's too bad no one actually knows how to do it. Y&R is a striking example.
Members Y&RWorldTurner
I think it's pretty sad that they only produce one or two episodes a year to win a Daytime Emmy, an award that's laughed at by the general industry and an award ceremony that no one watches anymore. Members bellcurve
Exactly. And so what if Brad won two Emmys for the "emotionally driven" stunt stuff? It's still a stunt. Nope. I want Jill to keep blowing sh*t up. At least she didn't have to use Betty White to get an Emmy Win.
