Her character was created but not intended to appear until later on (eventually making it on air in Dec 1973) Does anyone know if JLB was cast well before she appeared? I do remember seeing a pic of Lee Crawford in her scene with William Gray Espy that showed her in a slip instead of the nightgown type thing she wears in the first episode. Not sure if it was a rehearsal or they taped a pilot and weren't happy with it and re-taped. It says she had to work until midnight and on a Sunday. Since Leslie only had a brief scene in the first episode I am guessing Mary must have taped a fair bit before being replaced. Maybe a weeks worth? From what I understand, they didn't tape too far in advance back then. Crampton seems so confident in this role, which she lacked in some of her later soap work. I wish they hadn't made Jessica so cutesy.
