The Dimeras moved closer to the docks, because Brady said that he walked to the Bistro last week.

And given the ever-changing lake and river proximity, I assume that's how Aremid moved closer to Salem.

Although how Dr. Rolf's submarine got out of there is still a mystery...

Yesterday I was watching this pay cable short film, which was in part made by (and co-starring) Arleen Sorkin. Directed by the wonderful Tom Schiller (who made many great shorts for SNL and the unreleased cult film Nothing Lasts Forever), this also stars Lauren Hutton and Carrie Fisher. There is a wealth of talent involved, to the point where Patrick Duffy just pops up for one scene, but the most interesting part is at around 22 minutes, when we get a montage of people offering "friendly" motherhood advice. You can see Brooke Adams as one of the "helpful" people, but then you really start to get into the part that threw me - several DAYS actors who were not credited with the cast (they do get a "thanks," which presumably means they helped financially as the whole making of feature has a runner on begging for money). They include Macdonald Carey, Frances Reid, and Leann Hunley. It's fun seeing Macdonald and Frances playing characters very far from Tom and Alice.

The "thanks" section also has Lee Smith (presumably the costume designer Arleen credited for creating the famous jester outfit she wore on DAYS), Chip Dox (who was an art director at DAYS), Deidre Hall, Al Rabin, and Shelley Curtis.

The credits are at around 27 minutes. I was wondering if @JAS0N47 or anyone else might know if any of the other names have ties to DAYS?

You can also see a bit of Leann in this behind-the-scenes clip:

It's probably just someone with the same name, but the only name I recognized from Days is Ben Bennett who played some small roles on Days in the 1960's. But doubt that is him. The only other Days names I saw were the ones you mentioned above.

JASON47'S MENTIONS ON "DAYS"...

Here are the two times Jason47 has been mentioned on "Days of Our Lives" episodes:

# 13347 (5/22/18) - J47 clue seen in Rolf's diary in first scene of episode
# 15047 (2/5/25) - Super fan Jason32 mentioned by Whitley in Act 4

Besides the two mentions on Days episodes, Stephanie wrote her column mentioning me once in Digest, and I was mentioned in a Q&A in another issue of Digest. There was a Bill Hayes documentary where they mentioned me in the credits. And then there's the uncredited stuff, like when Days asked me to find the airdates of Kathie Lee Gifford for the 50th anniversary so that the Today Show could air a clip of Kathie Lee as the nurse when they were promoting Days 50th in 2015. And if CNN ever airs that documentary where they are supposed to be interviewing Tina Andrews about her time on Days, then perhaps they will give me a credit as well!

I forgot to do it earlier, but I just messaged Ryan and asked if it was he or Ron responsible for getting that in, or if it was something the dialogue writer added in. Regardless of who it was, it was nice of them to do so!

Thanks for your help in getting some other vintage clips out there. The Kathie Lee clip is still on the NBC Today site for anyone who wants to see it - I am never sure how long these will stay up before they start to make the sites unavailable.

The movie is amazing. I think his grandson made the film.
Anyone can watch it for free by submitting a name and email address at that link, but they seriously ask that no part of it be copied or displayed anywhere else.  It's their way of sharing it but keeping it intact and copyright to the family.   So they ask that the link can be shared but not the images or video.

Jason47 is credited for providing some of the photos used.

    • There has been some confusion about Michael & facial burns. Please see this post: https://bsky.app/profile/shallotpeel.bsky.social/post/3lqkrryu54226 I've chosen to put this here instead of the Classic Thread because it is now with the appearance of recast Michael that this has come up. Different places online, including at least one podcast, remarks have been made about how remarkable it is that he is without facial scarring. Other fans say it was clear from the first that he did not have facial burns. What is included in this post is 2 screengrabs where you can see his face at the hospital & a very quick edit of that day in the hospital.
    • Put me in the LOVE KMH camp. As a poster alluded to above, her detractors seem to come from people who first experienced the 80s Emily actress. And that's often the case with soaps, myself included. I enjoy the original actor so much that I just never take to the recast. However, KMH played Emily far longer than the original - for almost 20 years - and when she had great material, she was great. I get the sense she didn't like playing the whiny oh-woe-is-me Emily which was all the material she got from about 1996 until she took over the Intruder in late '99/early '00 and got to play a stronger kiss-ass woman who didn't care what anyone thought of her. (Some would call that a bitch but, if a man was in that role, he'd just be called a smart and savvy businessman.) Her relationship with Hal was great. The transformation was done realistically and I thoroughly enjoyed those years the best out of all. Once the writers decided to break up those two, they went back to writing Emily half the time as whiny and pathetic. I preferred when the writers made her stronger.
    • Hahaha - I do. I've always been the type, though, that can't miss anything. I get FOMO, so I'll not skip episodes or fast forward anything. There are only a few TV shows I've dropped because they got so bad vs. sticking it out to the end.  The promise that GL 1997 is better is what keeps me going. I especially want to see the fallout of Blake's lie about her twins and then Annie's descent which I believe won Watros's Emmy.
    • Rita's rape is an episode i constantly search on YouTube hoping one day that it will show up. I always feel like I may have seen it, but I was only 6 at the time and can never figure any of the things I have vague recollection of

FROM THE VAULT: NON-SOAP DAYTIME RATINGS: HIGHLIGHTS FROM AUGUST 1973 & NOVEMBER 1973:
    • The rape was in 1979 after they were married. Blake was the result of Holly cheating with him while she was married to Ed. I believe she was born in 1975.
    • No. Ed and Holly were married and having problems. She had an affair with Roger and that's when Christina--Blake--was conceived. The rape happened much later, after Holly and Roger were married.
