Of course, it's Susan Hunter's fault, too. But, it's not that Julie wants some generic guy who has already been married & divorced & who has a child, no, she wants David & she wants David to be an honorable man & do the right thing. Susan Hunter & Julie were best friends before a man came between them. Julie & David were in love before he screwed up one night & now they have consequences. This is classic set-up, iconic relationship stuff where we're going to see what happens if we put these people in this situation.

Thanks so much for relating the BTS! They seem like lovely people. It sounds crazy that they would let her contract expire but maybe they were more relaxed about things then. Maybe they did more on a handshake.

I'm sure he had plenty of people he loved writing for. Flannery & Trish Clayton were the only ones to move from DOOL to Bell, weren't they? And, only Jamie Lyn Bauer, the reverse trip.

He thought David was too old for Julie.  She was still in high school when they first started dating.  And I think David had been in some kind of trouble earlier (as had Julie, of course, lol).

He created a role for SSH on Y&R after she left Days in the 80s, and supposedly she was his first choice to play Stephanie on B&B.   Margaret Mason was on Y&R, and Robert Clary was on both Y&R and B&B.

I know there was backstory there, but why the secret from Susan?  If they were bff Julie never told her about David?  It's not like David/Susan are a love match.  I don't see why they don't come clean with Susan.  Why all the secrecy?  Besides it being a soap.

Why is David hanging around with such young girls lol?

I thought that's what I heard as well, but I thought maybe it was only in reference to Susan's age and didn't go back to check.  Anyhow, maybe Tom just thought Julie was too young/immature to be a wife.   So to be clear, not just to you, but anyone who can answer, Julie/David were not sleeping together before the marriage correct?

This made me laugh. In my house we talked about the Hortons like friends at the supper table. I think my whole family would have been scandalized so even if I hadn't seen something because I was in school, I think it would have been mentioned! I can only say I don't think so. That sounds like a fan version of AltDays.

I can see what you're up to! You are going with facts, or consistency, even worse.

Amazing how these folk with such high moral fiber can turn a corner & everything's the same has become time for a change. But, if they were sleeping together I don't think anyone knew it. Maybe Tom just had good instincts, not that forbidding people to see each other has ever been effective.

    • yes. today Monday's episode started with words displayed "part 1" and ended with "to be continued"
    • I find Missy Reeve's views offensive and I don't want to defend her, but I don't think she ever said anything publicly about Days "gay content".   In fact, I don't think she's ever said anything negative about Days at all.  There's no indication Missy is difficult or unprofessional on set-except for the whole affair thing years ago lol-but that's a whole different topic. I can dislike Missy as a person and still think she's the perfect fit for Jen.  Cady tried and it didn't work for me.  Whenever Missy steps into the role it works.  It's a two things can be true situation.  Missy has some bad opinions, but she's great at playing Jennifer.
    • Doesn't the funeral go into Tuesday
    • Christian Streaty wrote her second freelance script today on Days. Surprised they gave the first funeral episode to a newbie.
    • And the third thing, which I have no cite for, and I may look to see if one is findable, but supposedly she said that the show had too much gay content in it. And, to be fair, that could be someone making a criticism about balance & not be bigotry but when it's added to the other, that's why it bugs people. Edit to add: The reason this may be impossible to source, and therefore of no use, is because it was not a public statement. She is supposed to have said it at the show, about the show, to colleague/s, one of whom repeated it in public, but that is convoluted to try to track down, so feel free to ignore. I did do some looking & I am not optimistic.

The greatest tv series season finale in history.
    • Mick Savage was sooo unbearable. And more unbearable was the reaction from the female characters to him - they were acting like he is God's gift to women and sooo irresistible. To a point of unbelievable cringe.
    • Today was a short one. Only 33 minutes.  The ‘Part One’ graphic at the beginning was pretty interesting though. I didn’t expect them to do something like that.  I like how everything was focused around John and his family and friends. Again, the acting and the dialogue was very well done and well written. And I love that they were able to incorporate Drake’s, “swing for the fences” phrase into the script. It was nice seeing everyone interact with each other, especially characters who don’t often share scenes together. It felt like every character was part of a big family or community. Plus, an outdoor funeral in June makes a lot more sense than an outdoor funeral in December.  But yeah, it’s very, very strange that Will isn’t at the funeral, especially since we know that

I would much rather he had been there today. And, where’s Anna too? And Jack and Jennifer? What was the point of bringing them all back if they weren’t going to attend the funeral? I expected Steve to want to close down BlackPatch, though I’d rather he just retire and let Paul take it over. But I like that Kayla was there to comfort him. I wonder if he’s going to change his mind at some point.  It was nice seeing Shane again too. Now, he just needs to have more scenes with his son lol but I enjoyed seeing him comfort Marlena. I’m not really sure about his interaction with Cat though? Was it really necessary for this to happen now, at John’s funeral? They could’ve waited a little longer to introduce this story arc.  Btw, was Tate bleeding from his head in his first scene with Arianna?
    • This is the coldest early June in my life. It's like it's January.
