He's 91, so I have to keep in mind, but I was going in preparing for something like Helen Gallagher's appearance. Either way, I'm glad he's doing OK for now.

My grandpa was still pretty sharp and vital to 99, so I am very glad if Don is giving him a run for the title.

Yes..but who knows.. I do remember an interview when Colleen said Colin was "her" Margo but..and rumors were that Colleen's affair with the Brian actor was causing drama, with Wagner even telling her to calm it down, but...Everywhere Hillary goes there seems to be trouble, but she always seems so "nice" on screen

There were over 500 people watching the livestream last night! That is truly a testament to how many people love Eileen and Lisa. I wish Larry and Scott could have been there but it was a great group. 

It seems as if Colleen has softened her position on her vixen era (aka Baddie Babs), she recognizes that, although it was hard on her to go from "good girl" to "baddie", she appreciates that Barbara had to escape the doormat status that that character had become stuck in as James' wife/victim. She talked about how much Eileen helped her see that and how Eileen dealt with being a "hated" character in her vixen era with grace and professionalism.

I always enjoy Hillary Bailey Smith talking about her era, how much she loved to play with Gregg and what an absolute hoot Eileen was. I know HBS often feels the need to reiterate that Eileen got a lot of hate for Margo's miscarriage but it really wasn't her fault for that particular storyline.

I loved hearing from Don Hastings about the Irna Phillips era of the show and I want to hear more about it (interesting that Ellen Dolan mentioned that she had been working on a one-woman show about Phillips).

Sadly, neither woman is here to discuss the Lisa/Lucinda feud but I think, had Larry Bryggman been there, he might have had something to say about it. The venomous dialogue between the two women was truly clever writing. That scene at Diana's where a confrontation ensued and ends with Lisa, with her head gently resting on her hands with a wry smile plastered on her face to say "Oh, how I despise her" was peak golden age cinematic delivery. That was Old Hollywood and you just don't get that kind of writing in soaps anymore. I miss that type of daytime soap opera.❤️

They seemed to be friendly with each other and it didn't seem fake, although they are actresses. Still, that was a long time ago.

Watching this reminded me how much I miss seeing Hillary on a soap. She had some funny moments, like at the end when they were all clearly sad and she was analyzing each of their Zoom backgrounds. This led to a moment that made me laugh where, IIRC, Don made sure to tell everyone that was his bedroom, not a medical bed.

Poor Gregg kept going in and out, but he did share one story - he didn't really have a lot of history with Eileen compared to the others but he said he first saw her before he joined the show because he went to a cabaret performance in West Hollywood or somewhere that was billed as having a soap star, and it was Eileen. 

If anyone wants an update on Scott Holmes, I think Ellen said he and his wife are divorced and he leads tours in Charleston. And he works out a lot. (I remember an SOD article back in the mid '90s where he talked about becoming physically fit because his son called him fat or something along those lines).

One person in the chat talked about how their grandmother never forgave Lisa for letting a good man like Bob go. I always love those types of viewer stories.

Watching this made me nostalgic for Oakdale all over again. I don't think I can ever let ATWT or GL go. I'll always wish we could see some version today, although I know it will never be.

I can't remember all the reasons but I think one was the change in producers. Calhoun had arranged hours for her as a new mother that I don't think Caso was going to keep. She had been thisclose to leaving the show in 1988 until they'd made that arrangement.

Yes, I did enjoy 1983-1985 as well before Marland arrived.

Lisa really set the stage for characters like Erica, Dorian, Reva, and so on... that one of a kind character that could be selfish, but also had likable traits that made you watch them even if they did something you didn't like.

It's really a sad thing that Sheffer/Goutman totally made her almost a background character once they came onto the scene.  Up till mid to late 2000, Lisa still had a pretty strong presence/focus on the show with her 40th anniversary episodes being a highlight.

Out of all of Lisa's loves.. I truly think Grant Coleman was her true love while Bob Hughes was her first love that she didn't cherish when she had him.

I thought the Locher Room tribute to Eileen was well done with me being intrigued to see if Ellen Dolan's one woman thing about Irna will ever see the light of day... while I agree that Hilary is missed on soaps.
