My affiliate will be airing "The Doctor's" in Oprah's timeslot

Dragonflies, if they're switching The Doctor's to that time slot what will be airing in The Doctor's former time slot? Here in the DC area they're airing Oprah reruns and I really can't see them doing that throughout September. The big cities are already airing extended local news to fill the void.

One reason is that she likes the number 25 (25 years) so she ended on May 25. Also, I believe the official end of May sweeps was either May 25 or May 26.

Wish this show so much! The last scene with her dog made me cry. lol.

I miss this show all the time. I really wish it wasn't gone. Hopefully more episodes will become available with time.

I liked yesterday's episode about "Waiting For Superman", the doc about Washington D.C.'s school system (I wanted to see this doc before Oprah promoted it, but now I really want to see it). I was shocked when they said you can get tenure only have 2 years on the job; when they said it's hard to fire bad teachers; schools recycle bad teachers. I liked the proposal that Michelle Rhee had but the Teachers Union rejected it: teachers who trade in their tenure can make up to $140,000 a year if they're very good teachers. I just feel so bad for kids who get settled with bad teachers. Those poor kids who have to hope to win a freakin lottery for them to able to get a chance.

USA ranks 25th in math, 12th in reading, 20th in science among major industrialized nations - I was surprised by this too.

And the story about the little girl who couldn't graduate with her friends because her mom was late on tuition.....

My mother is a teachers assistant. There was one teacher who was making fun of these special ed students and setting them up for failure and causing them to fight with other students. Evidently, she was at that school because she was that way at all the other schools in the district.

The principle finally pushed her out though but I forgot the details on how.

But yeah, the school system truly sucks! I am reading an article about it in the new yorker.
