You know, I had to go back and re-read that sentence? For a minute there, I thought you were saying Lucy and Ray were being presented as if they were "wasted." Don't ask me why, lol.

So did I

Larry Hagman is a good actor. Like another poster said. His two biggest roles Tony Nelson and JR Ewing were so damn different. I saw I Dream of Jeannie reruns before I saw Dallas reruns and it was so wierd seeing how different he was on Dallas.

He was pretty funny on that show, and I love the physical comedy he was sometimes called on to do. I love little things like the way he goes into comedy stance opening the door and dramatically sticking his head into the room and shutting it at about 2 mins into this.

He understands the nature of comedy and that everything is a little hyper and a little faster. And then in part 2 I love him with the dogs (but my favorite episodes tended to be with Djinn Djinn)

At first it was said that he was green. Now he didn't have to stretch his acting chops. Let me suggest something...they have episodes of that show on YT. I'm saying that you will like it, hell you may even hate worse after you see it. But i know one thing...because I watched TMFA I watched Dallas as well. At least look at one episode before you make your final decision on how he was as an actor back in the late '70s.

First of all, I didn't say Patrick Duffy was "green" when he started on DALLAS. I said he wasn't good. He still isn't.

Second, say what you will about Joan Collins, but at least she trained at RADA and had years of professional film, television and theatre work under her proverbial belt before tackling the role of Alexis on DYNASTY. What the hell had Patrick Duffy done pre-DALLAS besides run around in a Speedo and webbed toes and hands on some short-lived (13 episodes!) junk sci-fi series? You really think that's experience and preparation enough for a role like Bobby Ewing? We're just lucky Duffy looked good in jeans and had warmth. Otherwise, TPTB definitely would have killed him off at the end of the original mini-series.

(Also...? I don't need to watch anything else to assess how he was as an actor during the '70's. If you're serviceable-at-best on a series that has strong writing, God help us if you're on a show that doesn't.)

Third, you love the current series, and you know what? That's great. But the next time you become confrontational with me or with anyone else who happens not to share your opinion(s), I won't bother responding, I'll just swat you away like a gnat and move on.

Linda Gray was on The Talk....yes I watched that segement...grrrrrr......They showed a clip from Wednesday's show and she did mention there would be a season 2 of new Dallas. She talked about how Larry and Patrick loved to play pranks on the set. How she is making sure Larry eats healthy diet...lol...

Wow, now I'm pissed they are CUTTING her scenes. Why cut Sue Ellen dancing with JR and then slapping him? Why cut her scenes with Cliff?

Sigh.

They were probably just using this as bait to bring some older actors back. They have nothing but contempt for women on this show so why would she be any different.

Joan Collins chews scenery like no one's business, I didn't know that made someone a good actor, it makes them an overactor ;)

Apparently, Sue Ellen will be in all the rest of the episodes. She apparently will interact with Mitch Pillegi's character, Harris Ryland. Unless they cut the scenes, of course.

Targeting Patrick Duffy when JC was worse is cruel IMO.....LOL.....I agree JC was no emmy winning actress. I thought she was much better on GL than Dynasty.

That's fine. And you did say he was green. You can say what you will, but those were your exact words. And if you want the original series, fine. I suggest you watch it.

And I was not confrontational at all. If you consider that confrontational, I truly don't know what to say to you at all.

No, I did not. This is what I said:

Same goes for Jim Davis, Patrick Duffy, Victoria Principal and Charlene Tilton. In fact, aside from Barbara Bel Geddes and Larry Hagman (and even Hagman is debatable), none of DALLAS' most prominent actors were actually good. Nevertheless, each of them had some almost undefinable quality that made you sit up and take notice. But these new actors? They might as well be on "CSI: NY" or "Criminal Minds." That's how interchangeable and disposable they are.

And this is what Chris B said (and what you responded to):

Joan Collins eventually was a disaster, but she started off well. And I'm sorry, but no way in hell does this cast compare to the original. Barbara Bel Geddes & Jim Davis were perfect as the heads of the family. Larry Hagman, Joan Van Ark and Ted Shackelford all started off brilliant and only got better. The only green actors were Linda Gray, Patrick Duffy, Victoria Principal and Charlene Tilton. Out of them, Linda Gray had little screentime at first so she had time to improve and she became brilliant. Victoria Principal had strong writing out of the gate and tons of charisma. Patrick Duffy did well enough as Bobby, which didn't require much heavy lifting. The only failure was Charlene, but that was only apparent at time went on and they tried to keep her around.

Then you need to tell me if Marta even rates next to Katherine Wentworth, Kristen Shepard, Holly Harwood or Afton Cooper. The only supporting characters that are well cast and written are Tommy and Ann's ex-husband.

As flattered as I am to be confused and mistaken for Chris B, I don't think Chris and I are of the same opinion, and I certainly don't think we used the same words.

Jesse Messcalfe is the absolute [!@#$%^&*] worst! The casting department needs an overhaul stat! There's just no excuse for the casting decisions made here. It's 1 for 5, and JH is the 1. Not really digging John Ross, but that's only because he's an idiot (Did daddy leave him enough rope) - at least he has a presence! Anne, Elena, Rebecca and Christopher leave me almost sobbing that I have to watch them to see JR! There needs to be an accident with multiple casualties! I'm serious! I can't take this!

Well, I just went to Ultimate Dallas and there is a link to the National Enquirer that states that JM is hated by the cast. It is the NE so I would really take that with a grain of salt, but now I'm thinking don't be surprised if there is a new Chris Ewing next year if this is true.

Also, there is a radio interview with Linda Gray.
