Zimmer to OLTL

Gotta get that Emmy one way or another. The episode where Kimmer first appears as all three characters will be appropriately titled after what she said in her last acceptance speech: "Here's to the Ladies Who Lunch." Sponsored by Olive Garden Unlimited Soups and Salads.

I also hear Kimmer(as Blair) will start calling TAWWWD "JOSH-WAH!"

OTOH, Kimmer will fit right into OLTL's unashamedly campy, vapid pool of actors and stories. I wonder who will come out on top of the scene chewing: Kimmer or Robin Strasser? Or will Slezak beat 'em both.

If they make dead-eyed, where's-my-check-who-cares TSJ play out a love story with Kim then that will be the most entertaining Todd story in years. I especially look forward to Nelson going on about how Techo/Eod are the new supercouple.

I am such a sucker for those old-fashioned music cues when they transition from one scene to another. In fact, the whole thing sucked me in. I didn't know what the hell was going on, but this is proof that all you need is some good sets, good actors and good writing and you've got yourself a show.

Frankly, Zimmer's weight will likely determine her future on OLTL. There are no overweight women to be found on any of ABCD's soaps, and overweight older women getting airtime is a definite no, no. If she still overweight, this will be a very short stint.

Miss Nellie will lap it up like a kitten with milk.

Miss Nellie: So, you have a history of getting your scene partner's d*cks hard. How do you do it?

Zimmer: These days, I gyrate onto their crotches like someone's waving a Nathan's Hot Dog around my mouth. I channel the hunger into my love scenes.

Miss Nellie: Tell me, who's is the biggest?

Zimmer: It's a tie between Nathan's and Pink's.

Now I have never really watched OLTL before, could never get into the ABC soaps myself but I might actually have to watch this. It'll be interesting to see if Zimmer and her character will end up weighing the show down or if she'll end up eating the show up.

Help! We tried to squeeze Zimmer into the opening credits, but they ripped!! Can we extend the opening credits by about 30 seconds to fit her in???

When are Slesak and/or Strassers contract/s up?! Does anyone think ABC cast her to ramp up a negotiation tactic to keep them from asking for more money? "If you leave, we already have a hammy, show-eating star ready to replace you!"?(Similar to Braeden/Will Russ?)

If only. OLTL sticks out like a sore thumb on the ABC lineup. I think if Frons is considering moving OLTL to CT or LA to accommodate better production values, I think he should go for it. ABC would have an all HD lineup and probably the best looking one.

    • I’m trying to think which actors VW were working with at the time, and none of them had been there for a while. Even like Mac and Ada didn’t have that big of a part in Rachel’s storyline.  And Jamie was involved with all that movie stuff.
    • Brooke did ads before ATWT too. That probably helped get her the job. After ATWT she seemed to branch more into hosting, along with ads.  I think I saw Kelley in an ad or two, but you're right she wasn't on as much.
    •   Thanks for sharing these. I wonder if Charles might have been in the running for Adam. I know Preacher was a bit of a bad boy at times on EON, but Neal seemed to be a step down, and Robert Lupone had played a similar part on AMC. Given the huge cast turnover at this point I wonder who thought they had been there long enough to go.  Laura Malone/Chris Rich would get a remote within the next year.
    • Interesting.  It seems to allude to that statement that Warren Burton made around that time about some AW actors getting special treatment.  I wonder who was resentful about not getting to go.
    • Good morning, boys!  I figured that it was time that our Gio was introduced into the hotness thread

@ranger1rg I even included a close up of his face for ya!
    • Under all of Madonna's social media today there is this wave of negative, toxic, absurd comments by Lady Gaga fans telling her how Gaga surpassed her in concert in Copacabana. I mean... Who the hell cares? Why are these fan communities so freaking toxic??? I'm sure Madonna doesn't care... But still. Have some respect for M. Leave her social media alone. Go cheer Gaga and be happy. Why come and spew hate on M??? Crazy world.
    • FYI, again, Ruth/Letitia is not in either of these 2 episodes. So that concludes the 4 episodes I had from Nov. 1983. I don't have the October episodes.
    • Eddie has begun uploading the 1990 episodes. I'm so happy about that. I was mindfully taking a break till there's plenty of episodes I can binge watch when I feel like it. Now that 1989 is complete... I can't wait to press play on February 1989 and resume where I left off.

Me when someone asks me to be proper and demure.
    • This is just a guess but I feel like the fact that they keep mentioning her dead husband is for a reason. We know Martin has a secret that likely involved someone dying. Martin's victim could be Alan which Leslie/Dana either knows about or finds out and she uses that to blackmail the family into letting her crimes slide.
