^^ I'm so glad Eileen threw out that black eyebrow Sharpie and 90s brick-red lipstick from her make-up bag. She looks 1000x better now.

How youthful does MTS look? Every inch Don Diamont's contemporary. Boy, have Y&R wasted her on Grambo. And here she is in a business SL no less. Nowadays, Nikki is oh so busy with her "charity work" and Meggie the secretary and being Victor's echo.

PB with the Full '90s Swoop. God, I loved that Swoop. A feat of styling, mousse and hairspray engineering.

Well, there is more Signy Coleman in Monday's episode.

I'll give it to MM, he tried his damndest in those reshot flashbacks with Hope, and he and SC did have a tender mother-son chemistry going. However, I couldn't quite forget Chris Engen and what he did with those scenes.

It really is. Some might term it "mom hair" but it makes MTS look so sassy and young and fresh. She looked older with her longer hair shellacked into place.

Sheilaforever, Signy really does add a ray of light and softness to the proceedings. Last Friday's classic Y&R flashbacks literally brought tears to my eyes... mainly because Y&R was so good back then, and we took it for granted that this would be a constant thing.

Apart from Signy, nothing really happened today. Julia Roberts' Bro isn't on enough for my liking!

It really says something when you have a psychopath like Adam on -- and he's not even the most ruined character in the scene. Hearing Victor boohoo about how on earth did his son get to be DA EVUL makes me LMAO. Look in the mirror, Gramps! And then there's Nick... I can't even be bothered today to go on about how ruined his tired gorilla ass is.

And Memo to Rauch: stop letting Chompers and Heinle "improvise" their foreplay, ok? Heinle (while looking very pretty in specs and an emerald-green dress) doesn't seem to know how to respond to Chompers' ad-libs. When he suddenly kisses her, it's like she's straining away from him, and when they were lying "nekkid" on the floor at the end, I noticed that her hands were hesitantly hovering around her sides -- she seemed uncomfortable about holding him. I don't know why I notice useless crap like that, but I do.

Cat has a crush! Cat has a crush!

And I suppose this is the most valuable fact we learned from today's Y&R. Tune in tommorrow... :P

The whole Adam story is so pathetic as soon as they bring in Saint Victor. Hello!? Memory check everyone: Preacher McNewman on Friday. Seriously!? Seriously!? Not even Crikcet had ever such a bright halo as Grambo does on MAB'S pen.

Dude, no! More like a talent-crush. His speaking voice is absolutely divine. He certainly performed with conviction and confidence last week, and I think he is a somewhat underrated actor in general. But I guess (alleged) meth addicts can't be choosers, so he'll take whatever pays the rent and some change.

I never even saw Kay Alden or Jack Smith wank so hard over the character this way. It really is absolutely ridiculous. I suspect this was the main reason for getting rid of Stacy Haiduk -- not just because Emily and her story flopped but because her presence reminds us what a bastard Victor is and how many lives he destroyed just to play a trick on JahhhhhckAbbott. Can't have that.

It's almost painful to see how ruined Victoria & Nicholas are (with Sharon not far behind).

And he walks around like a paragon of virtue with his god daughter's heart beating in his chest!

HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAATE.

Kay ADORED Grambo & the less said about Jack Smith's obsession (GLORIA) the better.

    • The Eva / Tomas scenes at the end -- to see a good actress having to play a scene with someone giving her less than nothing -- that was painful.
    • I thought the story had it’s moments, I much preferred the story once Greg was meddling, trying to keep her away from Tom Ryan. I loved them together!   And there was a story they could have developed from this. Laura stopped having a lot of scenes with the ensemble. She's the only one missing during the big finales of seasons 5&6, and I would have been cool to play on that! For one, Laura being a more cutthroat business executive just made sense to me. Also, the point I was trying to make regarding Mary Robeson was that I wish they had focused on a story from her family /background beforehand. You could play the Vin artist from many angles.
    • Nielsen Ratings for this same week 39 years ago May 5-11 1986. North & South Book II mini-series pre-empted a number of ABC shows. What the heck was NBC’s Fast Copy about?

    • I think the arrival of the Spauldings (Alan/Elizabeth/Phillip) caused the erosion of Sara's character on the show since Elizabeth took over Sara's place in the whole Justin/Jackie story.  Sara's brief marriage to another deceptive man sounded like it paled in comparison to the previous deceptive man story that she had played the decade beforehand.. and it was probably done because of the whole Alan/Jackie/Mike/Elizabeth cluster that took off story wise.   I know the show had introduced Brandy, the woman Justin cheated on Jackie with... but I don't believe she lasted more than a year.. and didn't make much of an impression. While the Dobson's were good at writing/juggling multiple characters/stories.. they weren't perfect though they did manage to make use of characters not in the front burner like Sara, Ann, etc. I do know that Sara/Adam looked to be starting up at the end of the Dobson era with a jealous/regretful Barbara looking on.. which played out during the Roger/Holly rape story and Hollys prison story.   I don't know if Marland was as inspired by that story when he took over
    • If you ever make it to the Paley Center in NYC (fka Museum of TV and Radio), in their viewing room, you can watch Days 1/1/73 featuring Denise Alexander as Susan. It’s her last month on the show before switching to GH.
    • Overall I was impressed with this week and fall out from the revealation.  I am looking forward to seeing the Nicole/Dana showdown next week.  I do wonder if June is going to be tied to Hayley.
    • I thought Adam and Sara got married? Although I do not remember any mention of her when Adam returned for Blake's weddings. But MA certainly got the short end of the stick storywise, as Marland's obsession with therapy reared it's head.
    • Didn’t Meg Bennett return to SFT as a writer in the last few years. I always wondered if they tried to get her back as Liza.
    • Millette Alexander got the short end of the stick once they killed off Joe. The Justin thing was a non-starter. Then she was briefly married to Alan's corrupt lawyer and HE was killed off. She was paired briefly with Adam and that ended because she believed Holly over Roger about the rape. Definitely, Marland had zero interest in her except as the therapist for the many, many of his female characters who needed therapy. It's not odd she left the show. One of the rare 1978 episodes on YT shows Alan going to Cedars for a physical check-up. He ends up with Sarah as his doctor. In between making mysoginistic comments about women doctors, he also openly flirts with her. It's very obvious they were chem testing Sarah and Alan. It's a really good scene. Bernau is both obnoxious and charming and Millette is amazing, trying to be pleasant and profesional without rolling her eyes at him, but at the same time maybe a LITTLE bit attracted to him. An interesting what-might-have-been. So it appears the Dobsons were actively looking for someone to pair her with, they just never found the right one for a long-term story.
