He is clearly doing it purposely...Because his voice was NOT that deep on Familly Matters, and he was well past puberty in that show. And he is so drastically different looking than RealMalcolm....Of course that's like Y&R's theme...Eden and Vail? Nina has never been able to find him, but Crickett knows that Ronan is him...It's not a spoiler cause Crickett and Ronan already talked about it onscreen. They made such a big deal about Adam firing Victoria and Neil yet it's forgotten that Victoria had fired Adam before that.
