The Steve story on SFT sounds very moving.

OLTL - I didn't realize that Marco was such a fleshed out character and involved in so much before he was "killed." And I guess this was it for Cathy. I saw a 1986 clip where Viki says they made sure Cathy hadn't kidnapped baby Jessica (Cathy wasn't mentioned by name). I wonder it that was the last time she was ever mentioned on the show.

AMC - Christina Karras really does sound like a mess of a character and it almost seems like the show anted viewers to dislike her, what with all that about Kate Martin, who was the beloved grandmother figure, not caring for her and resenting Christina keeping her maiden name at work.

GL - The relationships are so complicated. I guess it must have worked though, as ratings seemed to go up at this time, didn't they? I didn't realize that Holly was involved with Peter Chapman quite a while before Roger raped her.

Doctors - Was this Glover woman seen as any type of good fit for the show as headwriter? Some of that stuff, like the class struggle with the Dancys and Doreen, seems interesting. It sounds like that class struggle went on for years.

DAYS - I never knew Mike was married to a Margo. Margo was one of the many written out by Nina Llaemle wasn't she? I also forget sometimes just what a big couple Don and Marlena were. I'd love to see Tracy Bregman as Donna.

Just have to ask: But how come you didn't know about Mike with Margo? You made it sound like you knew of the character of Margo, and since 99% of her existence was Mike, I just found that comment odd.

I have to give props to Peggy O'Shea, S. Michael Schnessel and their team for acknowledging the fact that Viki had experienced a similar ordeal with baby Kevin's abduction. They didn't have to; they could've just made like it never happened; but they knew longtime fans would remember.

The only thing I knew about her was that she was listed amongst those who were killed off during the "Valentine's Day Massacre".

Yeah, stuff like that, and bringing back Joe, really helped add to Viki's character. I know the Tom stuff wasn't great but it was worth it just for the moments where Viki and Joe were reunited on the spaceship.

Margo Anderman is the true love of Mike's life, IMO. They were never really torn apart at all, until they killed her off when they brought back her leukemia. She was also good friends with Trish Banning.

Mike's history spans such lengthy periods of time (since he never really aged for so many years). I wish I'd seen Margo. I wonder if she's on Youtube anywhere.

Margo was played by Suzanne Zenor. She was a very quirky,individual type of character-very childlike and innocent and 'spacey' as I recall.Zenor married Ed Mallory (Bill),who was her father in law on the show.

After Days,Wes Kenney hired her to play Claire on Y&R.Claire was a similar type of character in that she had been institutionalized and a was out of touch with the real world.

Actually Zenor appeared in the Suzanne Somers role in a pilot of Three's Company that ABC wanted retooled.

I remember Linda and Larry on Y&R. Linda was presented as a possible love interest for Greg,but the story never got beyond Linda constantly whining about how unfulfilled she was.Bell must have got bored and ditched the story quickly.I don't remember if they were written off or just vanished.

Funny that he was so strong with the Prentiss story and Jill/Kay/Derek but couldn't come up with long term stuff outside of that.Although Nikki started around this time and proved to be a stayer.

Tara nixes Phil’s offer to give up commando training if it will reconcile them. Finally getting together, Benny and Estelle reaffirm their love and she promises to ask Billy Clyde for a divorce. Caroline and Frank continue to fight over his concern for Nancy’s welfare.

Following a visit to Ann in the sanitarium, Paul believes she will never recover mental balance. Paul is concerned over Ellen's decision to marry Mark. After discussing pregnancy symptoms with Tara, Devon fears she is pregnant by Wally. Phoebe intends to use Charlie to get Charles back and make sure Tara and Chuck are reunited. When Estelle asks Billy Clyde for divorce, he pleads for her to stay with him because he truly loves her. Letty Jean, a former hooker, returns to her old life saying she'll never be happy in the straight world.

Learning she is pregnant, Devon considers suicfde. Granted annulment, Erica wants country club wedding; Tom prefers quiet ceremony. Phoebe says she will come to Erica's wedding only if a invitation is sent to Charles so he will have to escort her. Charlie continues to badger Tara about remarrying Chuck. When Donna sprains her ankle, Chuck goes up to see Tara and Charlie at Willow Lake. After Chuck saves Charlie from drowning, he and Tara make love. Myrtle realizes Kelly is growing fond of Linc because she is upset by the thought that Linc may feel he's better than she is. Eddie is trying to cheat Kelly out of income tax refund, asks Kelly to marry him to head off her feelings for Linc. Jeff and Christina prepare to move into larger house.

Just as the pregnant Devon is about to jump from a bridge, Dan drives by. She tells him her purse was stolen and that she was just looking in the river. Although she feels guilty, Tara admits to Chuck she loves him. Kelly refuses Eddie's marriage proposal claiming she wants to be independent. Estelle is upset to learn she cannot move away from Locust Stsreet because Billy has spent her bequest from Maggie to buy a limousine service. Nancy has a baby boy. When annulment papers do not arrive, Erica fears her wedding may be postponed.

Upset over Liz’s caution to Susan about Olive’s friendship with him, Dan tells Liz to stay out of his life. Ada warns Blaine to keep away from Jamie.

Rachel gives birth to a baby girl and names her Amanda. Overjoyed by the birth, Mac blurts out to Iris she was only adopted. Heartbroken, Iris goes away with Brian. Working for Charlie, Jamie hopes to find a job for Blaine, who has arrived in Bay City with her brother Larry. Marianne renews friendship with Eileen, hoping she can get Pat to ike Greg. Sally becomes Cory's babysitter to get out of doing volunteer work at the hospital. Dennis decides to become art major in college.

Jamie gets Larry (Blaine's brother) a job with Charlie in the electrical shop. Marianne’s friend Kate is trying to prove to Marianne that Greg uses women by having Kate show interest in Greg so she can see how he returns that interest. Mac is worried over Iris' disappearance. Susan and Dan take their discussion of Susan's inability to respond to him sexually to the bedroom, but they are interrupted by Olive's arrival. When Olive lets Susan think Dan has talked over their problems with her, Susan tells Dan she wants to have nothing more to do with him. Rachel comes home but her baby stays in hospital to put on weight. Jamie accuses Rachel of acting like Iris where Blaine is concerned.

Greg thinks Pat is a sucker for believing him when he says that he's a better person for meeting Marianne. Marianne discovers that Greg's clothes and Greg are missing. Sally runs away after Clarice, catches her in Joey's arms and tells Alice. Olive calls the hospital for a drunken Dan and says he is ill. Alice lets Dan know she cares for him but would not destroy another woman's marriage. Rachel threatens Blaine with a private detective if she doesn't leave Jamie alone. Blaine confides to Larry that when she marries Jamie she'll use his money to keep the ranchhands quiet about her past.

Returning from London, Jane is annoyed when Annie doesn't meet her at airport because she is at medical school. Melinda assures Jane her scheme to get Beau is working. Kim is upset to learn that Dan plans to stay on in Washington for a few days at the same time Susan is there. Dan changes his mind but not before he and Susan become intimate. While a distraught Sandy searches for him, Kevin wakes up in a seedy hotel. Discovering his wallet is gone, he calls Val and makes her promise not to tell Sandy he has been on a two-day binge. Lisa and Grant's vacation a success. At last getting a job, Jay agrees to make up with Carol, but lets her know their lifestyle has to be much simpler and she will still have to work at bookstore. Annie is angered because Beau, without consulting her, tells Jane they will move into the house.

On the way to look at real estate, Ralph and Don involved in auto accident. Don frees himself and, despite initial inclination to run away, drags Ralph from the burning wreck. At the hospital Joyce acts more concerned over Ralph than Don. Carol and Jay reaffirm their feelings for each other, make love. Kevin returns, tells Sandy he had to make unexpected trip to New Yourk. But Sandy notices his watch (taken by a girl at a disco) is missing. Unaware that Grant and Valerie are seeing each other to help Kevin keep his drinking a secret, Lisa thinks they are renewing their fling; she tells Bob she wants to get even.

Kevin returns to the hotel where Jenny stole his watch and wallet. He discovers her in disco but decides not to try to get his property back. Dr. Jeff Ward is interested in Dee but his hardline against woman doctors including Annie makes rough sailing for their romance. Old friend Hank reminds Jay he once stole Hank's girlfriend Linda from him. Jay is worried Hank might tell Carol about it. Upset by Kim's return from weekend trip, Susan considers how to let her know that she and Dan made love. Dan — stricken by the realization that he can make love to Susan but not to his wife — continues to see a doctor for psychiatric therapy.

Jenny — the hooker who stole Kevin's watch and wallet — says she'll tell Sandy where he was unless he pays her off. Alex gets rough with Susan, warning her to stay away from Dan. Kim and Dan's vacation was called off because a patient of his got ill. Susan tells Kim she and Dan were lovers in Washington. Jeff reveals to Dee he dislikes women doctors because he once had a fiancee who gave up medical studies to marry a richer doctor. Lisa says she has forgiven Valerie and Grant for their "friendship." Karen is upset because the trial did not prove her late father was not corrupt. Bob discovers Karen's preoccupation with the trial is not just because of her father; Karen also found to be a co-conspirator, and she faces a prison term.

Linda wonders if Bob would like children, but he insists he's happy with things as they are. Marlena, upset because Don hasn't called her, tells Donna that Don needs quiet and suggests she find friends her own age. Maggie continues to drink heavily.

Mary and Chris make final plans to move in together; Linda tells Bob she's opposed to the arrangement because Melissa may find out. Greg is offered a post as hospital chief of staff in Chicago. Donna schemes to keep Marlena and Don apart by intercepting messages; to her chagrin, they make up anyway. Don begins to wonder if Donna isn't really his daughter. With Julie out of town on buying trip with Steve, Teresa invites Doug for dinner, but Robert saves Doug by saying he needs help at the restaurant. Mike passes high school equivalency test. Don's hearing is almost fully restored. Maggie is upset when Joann brings Janice a birthday gift.

Donna is angry at Marlena, guessing that Don's suggestion that she should find friends her own age was prompted by Marlena. Even though Greg says it's a decision for both of them to make, Amanda fears he will take the Chicago hospital post. Greg tells Tom that if he does he will recommend him for chief of staff in Salem; Alice doesn't like idea because it makes it seem that Tom is second to Greg. Joann is hired as Linda's new housekeeper. Linda accuses Chris and Mary of flaunting their relationship in front of Melissa. Returning from buying trip, Julie learns of Teri's visit to Doug, and warns her that Doug is married and she should stay away.

Neil's teenage cousin Pete comes to town and is attracted to Donna. Chris is upset because he cannot send his sister Amy to veterinary school but refuses Mary's offer to help. With Don out of town with his sick mother, Marlena is surprised by visit from her former lover Paul Whitman, whose wife has recently died. When Paul's car won't start, he spends the night there. Maggie is upset to learn Joann is working for Linda. While Janice goes to Melissa's party, Maggie drinks. Doug feels Julie is silly to worry about Maggie's drinking. Teri plans to leave town but Doug persuades her to stay. David considers changing Timmy's name to Scott as the late Scott Banning was the only father he ever knew. Bob suffers chest pains. Steve talks Julie into opening a $25,000 joint checking account so he can buy antiques in Paris estate sale.

The Doctors

Billy and Greta head for an isolated cabin. Missing the last bus, they hitch ride with two grimylooking characters. Carolee, curious about Steve's suddenly making house calls, unaware that it is Doreen he is seeing on a doctor patient basis.

Billy and Greta escape from two men who pick them up when Billy nearly strangles one of them. Sarah takes Colin's professional criticism personally; Mike is angry that Colin insinuated to her that their marriage was not a happy one and that Sarah was jealous of M.J. who is dating Colin. Mike storms into press conference and yells at Colin. Jason tries to find out from their friend Kim where Billy and Greta are, and tells her that if anything happens to either Greta or the baby, she will be to blame.

Matt fears Colin is bringing Mike's old hothead tendencies to surface. Angry because he (mistakenly) thinks Colin is talking about Sarah, Mike takes a swing at him at Medicine Man. Hurting his head in the brawl, Colin is unable to perform bypass surgery needed to save a patient's life. Doreen blames Barney and Luke for letting the brawl happen. Steve warns Doreen that even though she may be dying she cannot expect Jason back in her life since he is happy with Nola. Maggie is upset because Matt seems more concerned over hospital crises than Greta's disappearance. Matt vetoes Steve and Carolee's suggestion that they publish an open letter in various newspapers warning Billy and Greta that her baby must be delivered by cesarean. Sarah admits to Nola that Mike's anger has improved his lovemaking.

Billy and Greta exchange vows at cabin before she goes into dangerous and painful labor. Carolee is confused by Steve's refusal to explain his visits to Doreen. Nola tells Mona she knows Doreen's out to snare Jason and he may not be able to fend her off. Jason gets Kim to tell him where Greta is hiding out. While Jason is with Kim, Nola thinks he is with Doreen.

The Edge Of Night

Raney Cooper, Mike's source for information on Tony Saxon's misdeeds, takes Mike for ride, throws away his cane – which has small transmitter in it so police can keep track of him. Arriving at a deserted hideaway, he pushes Mike out of loft. Upset by negative police stories, Deborah refuses to let Nancy do any more stories on her as a Monticello policewoman. She knows her father is guilty of political crimes but doesn't want to think he would ever hurt Mike. Believing Raven's story that she - not Winter - was Logan's first choice, Winter calls off wedding.

April is arrested for the murder of Denise. Rescued from the deserted building, Mike tells police Raney was his abductor. Raney escapes. Tony confesses his wrongdoings to Geraldine.

Deborah realizes her father Tony Saxon is corrupt. Cops close in on Raney while he holds Deborah hostage. At indictment for first-degree murder, April admits she hated Denise but swears she didn't kill her. Tony — his whole world collapsing because his daughter knows about him, because he is hurting Kevin's chances for election to the Senate — contemplates suicide. The newspapers call for Kevin to sever his connection with Tony.

Tony Saxon rushes to an area where Raney is holding Deborah hostage. In skirmish, Raney shoots Tony, but he is shot and killed trying to make getaway. Logan fears the D.A. will make him prosecute April — she is such a likeable person, the D.A.'s image would be tarnished whehter she's found innocent or guilty. Kevin wonders if he should give up senate race for Geraldine's sake

For Richer, For Poorer

Out to get Lee, the mob shoots Tessa; she undergoes surgery to remove the bullet from her spine. Returning home, Les blames himself for Tessa's injury. Lee assures Les that he and Tessa are not married. Amy urges Connie to tell Bill she has regained some of her memory. Felling Edith will soon name him president of Cushing Corp., Jason asks Laurie to wait for him for a few more months. Laurie admits to Desmond she resents Megan.

Removing the bullet from Tessa’s back, doctors are encouraged for her chances because dangerously high fever begins to break. Lee promises Les that if Tessa recovers, he will leave town without her. Laurie tells Mr. Higgins she will play him substantial fee if he manifactures evidence to make it look as though she and Jason are still dating.

After Tessa regains consciousness, Lee is tempted to stay in town, but Sergeant D’Amico persuades him to leave to protect Tessa. Wendy is upset by Paco’s lack of attention to her. George refuses to take a fertility test. Dr. White’s girlfriend Colleen is jealous of the attention he is paying to Connie. Feeling she might remember more than she wants to, Connie stops taking her amnesia medication.

Austin agrees to let Amy work in office for modeling agent Clair. Jason wants Higgins to keep eye on Austin's client Craig Henderson. When a woman appears in his room, Henderson backs off and believes the Cushings hired her. Tessa may be paralzed from waist down. When Lee calls about Tessa, Sgt. D'Amico tells him he must stay away from Tessa. Viola offers Josie a job at Carriage House antique shop. George agrees to take the fertility test. Connie tells Jason Bill has not made love to her since the accident.

General Hospital

Lesley discovers Laura purchased the statuette found in David's apartment but charged it to Lesley's account. Bobbie is angry at Scotty for trying to help Laura. Out to dinner, Jessie sees Lee having a drink. Jeff warns Heather to stay out of Peter and Diana's problems. Heather is beginning to resent the time Jeff spends studying with Steve for medical board. Although Howard is unattached, Tracy is interested in Gary, not Howard. A homesick Teri writes Jeff from Hawaii; Steve fears Teri's return because she is the only other person who knows he is really Jeff’s father. On the witness stand, Jeff admits David once had tried to seduce Lesley before he was murdered.

Searching David's apartment, police find bits of Laura's love leter in his chandelier; police match it up with characters on Lesley's typewriter. Laura begins to feel she must tell police it was her push that caused David's death. Gina returns from Denver, plans to set up research unit in Port Charles. Bobbie is displeased by Scotty's decision to room with young doctor Bryan Phillips, because of Bryan's alcoholic past.

On the witness stand, Lesley claims she was David’s lover. Rick realizes Lesley is protecting Laura and plans to stop her. After nightmares about prison, Laura resists hypnosis Peter wants to use to help her remember what happened the night David was killed. Lesley is convicted of manslaughter and is remanded without bail until sentencing. Alan is leery of Monica and Rick’s close relationship. Tracy is egging Alan’s jealousy on.

Fearing Rick knows she accidentally killed David, Laura runs away. Scotty believes she may be in New York trying to get lost in the East Village. Diana undergoes examination which uncovers a neurological disorder. Jeff feels he must tell Peter that Diana is ill. Bobbie flares up over Scotty's concern for Laura, although she's seeing Chris on the sly. Tracy is fanning Alan's jealousy of Rick. Katie prepares to join Mark in Mexico. Gary is not totally pleased that Gina may have to spend time out of town working on her research project.

Peter rediscovers his love for Maya, decides to return to Springfield to tell Holly. Jackie takes Philip to hospital because of chest pains and learns the child suffers from the same hereditary heart ailment as Emmett. Sensing Jackie is cold to her, Elizabeth learns she is upset because of Mike's friendship with her. Nervous because Mrs. Wilson is coming to town over custody of Philip, Elizabeth takes a painkiller which turns her into bundle of nerves. Dean discovers Elizabeth's medication can create emotional problems and is habit-forming. Hillary asks Roger to Evie and Ben's housewarming party even though she knows the Bauer family will be there. Hillary is hurt to see Roger with Diane despite his having told her that he plans to date others. When Evie tries to be friends, Mrs. Wexler's daughter Amanda suggests she stay away.

Justin tells Elizabeth tests reveal Philip's heart condition may never be a serious problem. Roger goes into a rage when Rita warns Hillary to stay away from him. Roger tells Rita he has put up with everyone's sideswipes and snide comments but will do so no longer; if Rita and the Bauers don't stay out of his life they will be sorry. Peter tells Holly he and Maya still care for each other deeply and he hopes she will come to Springfield. Bitter and hurt, Holly sets about putting her life together without Peter.

Ben and Evie go on a belated honeymoon on Nassau. Alan thinks Dean is getting soft when he shows concern for Elizabeth’s feelings if she should lose custody of Philip. Mike and Elizabeth continue to exchange endearments. Amanda fears the return of her ex-husband to Springfield. Peter lets Roger know that he and Holly are no longer an item. Feeling dejected over the outcome of her relationships with Peter and Ed, Holly considers leaving Springfield even though she admits to Barbara she still cares for Ed. Rita agrees to go to New York with Ed next month.

Jackie hopes one day to marry Alan and become Philip's stepmother. Emmett prepares to move to Chicago. Roger tries to persuade Holly to stay in Springfield. Hilary feels estranged from Rita because of their difference of opinion about Roger. Roger again warns Rita to stay out of his life. Philip is staying with Jackie out of sight of thugs who are trying to keep Elizabeth from testifying against them at trial. Hope jeopardizes her job as interior design assistant to give Alan Spaulding advice on how to decorate his new industrial complex, but in so doing she gains Alan's admiration and attention. Brandy asks Justin if she can move in with him because her rent is being doubled.

Love Of Life

Bruce is visibly shaken by Andrew and Van's "romance." Both Van and Andrew tell Bruce they are in love but Andrew truly means it. Bruce wonders if he was wrong to allow Van to fade out of his life and into Andrew's. Her friend Sherri tells Lynn she cannot run her life according to the values of an older generation. Ray calls Bambi to make Arlene jealous when he sees Tom and Arlene eyeing each other. When Bambi suggests playing cards instead of making love, Ray returns to Arlene in an amorous mood, but she makes it clear she doesn't want to have a relationship with him.

Andrew fantasizes about a romantic life with Van. Sherri offers Lynn a drink, unaware of her alcoholic tendencies. At opening of Sirocco Disco, Lynn and Sherri are both taken with Andy. Ben and Betsy argue over Elliot's schedule for Ben to visit Suzanne. Carrie warns Arlene she's going to lose Ray. Bambi starts working at Sirocco and tells Arlene it was hard for her to turn away. Sarah tries to talk Bruce into going back to Van.

Andy, claiming his name is Kenter, makes love to Sherri. Ben meets Elliot and and is concerned about Elliot’s possessiveness over Betsy. Joe admits to Arlene that while Tom loves her, he wouldn’t do anything to destroy her marriage.

Arlene confides to Carrie although she has made love to Ray she still does not feel toward him the way he would like her to. Ben fears Betsy will recognize herself in his book. Reading the novel, Betsy begins to recognize that she is the main character. Lynn tells Mia that she would willingly sleep with Andy. Later at Sherri's apartment, Lyn finds Andy and Sherri lying on the couch. Van is about to give up on Bruce ever coming back to her. Returning from vacation, Andrew makes an heavy pass at Van, then flees.

One Life To Live

A private investigator hired by Dorian concludes on questioning prostitute Sally that Karen was a call girl. Richard tells Joe he wants to take Becky away from Llanview so Luke cannot harm her. Luke escapes from jail. Brad is released from prison. On honeymoon, Melinda keeps dreaming Peter and Dorian are plotting to have her recommittee; she burns her marriage certificate. Angry because Jack asked her to take care of a personal matter for him, Carla tells him she is his secretarial assistant, not his maid.

Carla rebuffs Jack but Dorian only sees the clinch. Marco talks Dorian’s private eye into giving him information about Karen’s prostitution. He says she has to give him $1.500 to pay him off but gives the detective only $1.000. Then Marco tells Dorian she can have information about Karen for $25.000. Police corner Luke who shoots Ed, then espaces to discover Becky and Richard in a deserted cabin. Melinda is jealous when Peter buys gifts for his nursing staff. On their last night of honeymoon, Melinda sneaks out of the suite while Peter is sleeping.

Jack operated on the critically wounded Ed. Luke handcuffs Becky to the cabin bed, then tries to drown Richard. Brad snags a job as a camera store clerk and Will begins to believe Brad’s promise to change. Wanda and Vince are concerned because they have not had any children in five years of marriage. Tina is working in a pizza parlor with Talbot Huddelston’s son, Greg. Joe, finding Tina and Greg alone in the house, tells her it’s improper. Peter insists Melinda take firm stand to keep Dorian from running their lives.

Having developed pneumonia, Ed goes into cardiac arrest. Safe at home and out of danger, Richard and Becky let Edwina know they hold her responsible for Luke's having come to Llanview in the first place. Edwina fumes when her story is bumped in a newspaper for Richard's first-person account of how Luke (now in prison) tried to kill him and Becky. Viki returns home; she and Joe disagree about Tina's rules and regulations. Dorian is upset by the discovery that Melinda left her wedding gift at Mrs. Hopkins. When Peter realizes Melinda lied to Dorian about the present, he wonders if she also lies to him. Brad takes moonlighting job as maitre d' for Tony's Place but is not pleased with Samantha for setting a job up since it means 18-hour workday for him. Marco plans to pick up any scandal he can about Viki. Realizing how lonely Dorian is, Paul says he will be a true friend to her. While Paul is out of town, Dorian redecorates his apartment.

Ryan’s Hope

Tom is close to violence when Dee comes into the apartment and drops dish scaring Faith. He tells Roger he wants Dee out of the brownstone, but Roger says it's his house as well and he wants her to stay. Roger and Dee make love. Jack wonders if Siobhan's trying to get along with Maeve is merely a best-behavior act that will wear thin in time. Aware that Jill wants to make up with Frank, Rae makes sure Jill finds her and Frank in bed together. Jack fumes when Frank's press secretary quits and Mary has to take over the job.

Edmund's condition improves. Jill decides never to see Frank again because he and Rae are sleeeping together. Jack is upset at Mary for putting Frank's campaign before their marriage. On houseboat outing with Pat, boat runs aground and Faith accidentally falls on the knife she is fixing lunch with.

Faith fights for her life. Tom exploses when he learns that Pat was on the houseboat with Faith at the time she accidentally stabbed herself. Against everyone’s advice, Dee plans to sink her $5.000 into commodities and recoup her money hundredfold. Jill tells Seneca she caught Frank and Rae in bed; Seneca offers solace.

Faith survives surgery but miscarries. Tom is deeply hurt when Faith calls out for Pat. Pat feels he's responsible for Faith's accident and loss of baby. Maeve tells Frank she cannot forgive or excuse his affair with Rae. Jill continues to depend on Seneca. Dee admits it was she who told Maeve about Rae and Frank.

Following a car accident, Scott and baby Doug are rushed to the hospital. When Doug needs a transfusion, Scott learns that David Sutton, not he, is the baby’s natural father. Carolyn insists Gary should tell Liza how ill Steve really is. Donna tells David she now knows that, although she, Kylie and Chance all played a part in the baby’s death, it still was only an accident. Learning Bill has quit Collins Corp., Ted Adamson offers him a job. Liza prepares to join Steve in New York. Kathy is on her way back to Henderson unaware of baby Doug’s accident. Stephanie tells Scott she knows how much he hates David and vows that she and Scott will force David out of town.

In New York to see Steve, Liza realizes he's dying and agrees to record his song. Even though Steve had insisted Gary keep the fact that he was out of remission a secret, Lisa is angry at her brother. Janet accepts Chance's marriage proposal. Kathy cannot understand Scott's mood swings and coldness toward her. Janet ignores opinion of both Stu and Howard (man who now controls Colin Corp.) that Chance is no good.

Steve fears Liza will not be able to accept his death. Liza holds Gary responsible for Steve's conditon and says she wants him to stay away from both of them. Chance tells Janet she shouldn't try to force Liza to accept Steve's impending death but should l0et her enjoy their remaining time together. Stephanie steals the important Chandler-Adamson documents from John's office, making it look as though David lost them. Scott is handling Adamson's case, and informs John that Ted is interested in buying Collins Corp. Kylie signs up for Mark D'Antoni's drama course and is immediately attracted to him.

After Steve dies, Liza says she cannot bring herself to go to the funeral. After listening to a tape of Steve's song, Liza shows up at the ceremony and places daisies on his grave. Amy tells Gary she understands Steve would not allow him to tell anyone about his terminal illness, and she does not blame him for Steve's death. In court, Scott decides he does not want to win the Adamson case unfairly, so he asks for a continuance. While looking in Scott's briefcase, Kathy discovers the missing file David needs for case. Learning what Kathy has found, Scott feels he cannot tell her how he got ahold of the file because it would implicate Stephanie. Kathy returns the file to David and he asks no questions. When Kathy tells Scott how understanding David was, he flares and leaves house. Lonnie asks Donna to live with him. Ted Adamson's daughter Laine suggests to her father if he's having trouble with the zoning laws he should become a councilman in order to change them. At Ted's suggestion, Laine plans to befriend Liza in order to learn more about Janet's business dealings. To stop anyone from believing Chance married her for her money, Janet gives each of her children a large amount of stock.

Mobsters show up at Kay’s home, say they will spare his life for $100.000 in cash, but once they have the money, they tell her Derek is still a dead man. When Derek calls, Kay warns him to get out of town. Brock forces Nikki to accept a date with Scott that includes dinner at the swank Colonnade Room.

Seeing hoodlums pull gun on Derek, Kay steps in front of him and is shot. Unable to remove bullet from the spine, physicians fear she may be paralyzed from the waist down. Although she still loves Lance, Leslie tells him to stay out of her life and let her make a new one with Lucas. Jill finally gets her mother to believe that she is not good enough for Stuart. Nikki tells Casey she's not good enough for Scott.

Derek tells Brock and Kay he became syndicate collector when his father couldn't meet payments to the mob. Then, agreeing to give testimony, Derek shot a member of mob who came after his father. Derek decides to stay in town if Kay is paralyzed. Learning of the seriousness of her injury, Kay is upset because she feels Derek is staying with her only out of pity. Lorie's worry that her father is lonely and needs sex is not unfounded. Stuart is torn between attraction to Jill and fondness for her mother Liz. Lucas turns down Lance's offer to throw party for him and Leslie. Laurie tells Lance she wants to be more than a name on a dust jacket and would like to become a celebrity author. Feeling unclean because she contracted VD, Nikki begs Casey to make Scott stop trying to date her.

Kay tells Derek she doesn't know if she wants him around only because of pity. Kay wants Brock to tell Derek to leave town. Lorie tells Lance she wants to postpone having a child. She wants to fulfill her need to be a celebrity-author first; then the babies can come. Knowing it's Stuart coming to take her mother on a date, Jill puts on her skimpiest outfit to answer the door. Casey pulls away from Snapper after a passionate kiss, then admits the reason she shies away from men is fear she may fall in love with a man who turns out to be a monster — as had happened to her mother. Nikki tells Casey that Scott deserves someone like her, not like Nikki. Scott warns Nikki she must do something with her life; she's not going to be 17 forever, and one day she'll have to work and be responsible. Regardless of the fact that Larry does not want Linda back home she returns for the children's sake.

I so wish that I had seen the story where Rachel turned into Iris and pushed Blaine out of Jamie's life, and the story about Pat killing Marianne's boyfriend after she flashed back to the man who raped her. That sounds like riveting stuff, melodramatic but still based in character and history.

So is the Kevin storyline on ATWT what Schemering meant when he said ATWT got lazy and repeated an alcoholism story? I also wonder how viewers felt about Kim/Dan/Susan starting up again after such a very late date.

So Dorian was already trying to get back into the hospital, as chief of staff? She'd already lost her license right? I never knew she was with Paul Kendall.

The stuff with Steve's death on SFT sounds great.

I can't help laughing at "Cushing Corporation" on Lovers and Friends. Geez that stuff sounds dull, although Paco would be one of the few Latino characters on soaps at this time wouldn't he?

Moments before her marriage to Tom, Erica gets a phone call from Nick but is disappointed to reralize he's not proposing to her, only explaining why he's unable to attend wedding. After receiving a last-minute dispensation, Tom and Erica are married, plan honeymoon in Bahamas. Frank is pleased that Nancy has given birth to a healthy baby boy. Getting a phone call from Phil, Tara wonders if she should try to reconcile with him even though she loves Chuck. When Chris and Jeff's deal for a house falls through, Chris blames Paul and decides to get another lawyer. While riding with Estelle, Donna gets in a car-train collision and is seriously injured.

Just before Donna is to undergo surgery for injury suffered in cartrain crash, a distraught Chuck realizes she knows that he and Tara are lovers. Following surgery Donna remains in a coma. Jeff and Chris fight when she suggests Tara and Chuck are more than friends. Devon tells Wally she's pregnant with his child. Eddie flares when Kelly asks Linc to manage her money, and at the Chateau gets drunk and heckles her show. On Bermuda honeymoon, Tom admits to Erica he's jealous because of her frequent references to Nick. Relieved that Estelle only received monor injuries in car crash, Benny rushes to hospital and tries to persuade her to get divorce from Billy Clyde. But when Billy Clyde arrives at the hospital and tells Estelle how much he loves and needs her, Benny realizes there's little hope of her ever leaving Billy Clyde.

Devon tells Wally she's carrying his child. Even though she slept with him only to get even with Dan, Wally says they must tell everyone they eloped weeks ago and get married as soon as possible. Chuck realizes that when Donna regains consciousness, he must continue to deceive her about his feelings for Tara. Chuck and Tara are unaware that Charlie saw them embracing. Charlie and Phoebe both play matchmaker for Chuck and Tara. Linc is hurt when Kelly changes her mind about having him escort her to Edna's for dinner. Mark and Ellen set a wedding date. Phoebe promises Billy Clyde she will keep Benny and Estelle apart. When Phoebe spreads rumor that Mark is Mona's illegitimate son, he tells her to watch her step.

Regaining consciousness Donna thinks she is still a hooker. Estelle is all set to leave Billy Clyde until Edna tells her that it's her Benny she has a thing for. Ellen learns Devon is carrying Wally's child. Not wanting to meddle in Linc's life, Myrtle decides to move out of his home. Talking to Jeff on the phone, Nancy points up resemblance of baby Carl to Frank. Overhearing Kate compare her to Mary, Chris flares up, then refuses to apologize. Linc learns Eddie's strong hold on Kelly is connected to the pills he gives her.

In St. Tropez Iris asks Giorgio how an adopted child would go about finding his real parents.

Marianne asks Eileen to be her maid-of-honor. Greg returns, tells Marianne their engagement is off because Pat does not truly accept him. Alice gives Olive a week to break off with Dan else Willis will tell all he knows about Olive's past. Vince confronts Angie with the fact that she still cares for Willis. Louise goes to St. Tropez to see Iris, and gets her to admit that Mac told her she was adopted. Agreeing to let Brian try and find her real parents, Iris says she never wants to see Mac again because he waited too long to tell her she was adopted. Baby Amanda comes home to Mac and Rachel. Olive tells Dan she is leaving town.

Sally decides to go to boarding school. When Angie admits she does not find Vince as exciting as Willis, Rose says she will help Angie learn to love Vince. Blaine tells Larry to be patient and Jamie's money will set them up for life. Dennis agrees to visit Iris in St. Tropez. John dissolves his partnership with Greg. Pat continues to miss work because of family problems. Brian resigns as Mac's lawyer and says he's dedicating his life to making Iris happy.

Brian thinks he has found Iris' real mother a.k.a. Cornelia Brown. Iris doesn't want to tell Dennis Mac is not his real grandfather. Mac hires Greg as his lawyer in place of Brian; Pat promises to try to get along with Greg in the office. Vince confronts Angie over the fact that she is taking birth control pills; Angie promises she will stop taking them and try to have a child. Hoping distance from Dan will help settle things in her mind, Susan heads for Arizona.

Judge Lowell takes a trip out of town to look after a property. At a Hughes family gathering, Joyce throws herself at Ralph, then just about faints when Don walks in; Nancy is suspicious when she hears of it. Jay and Carol move into a new home. Following a fight with Annie over her school hours, Beau tries to force himself on her physically. Susan is upset because Kim and Dan seemed so happy before they left on their trip. She can't understand why Kim hasn't told Dan about the affair she and he had in Washington.

When Teddy is hurt in fall from swing, Mary leans against Don and realizes she is falling in love with him; Joyce suspects her feelings. Following a fight, Beau and Annie temporarily separate and Annie moves in with Dee. Although Dee resists Jeff's advances because he doesn't believe in love, he nearly takes her into bed when Annie steps out of bedroom. At a meeting for the cardiac wing, Jane takes a shine to Bob, then tells everyone she's withdrawing her sizable contribution because Bob was rude to her. Carol is distressed by a pass Chip Kelly makes at her, then again when Jay says he must leave town on business. Betsy plans to attend private school. Val signs paper giving half of farm to Nick. Planning to apply for reinstatement, John learns Bob will not stand in his way with the hospital board. Lisa tells Grant that Nick made a play for her. Carol is displeased with Laurie's interest in Chip.

Police pick up Jenny when she tries to sell Kevin's watch. Kevin contacts Sandy but is unable or unwilling to tell her where he is. Barbara Ryan, daughter of Bob's late wife Jennifer, arrives in Oakdale. Dan and Kim return from their vacation. After an inspiring talk with Jeff about medicine, Annie decides to put her career ahead of marriage. Dee runs into Beau and Melinda at a disco. No one believes Lisa when she claims Nick and newcomer Tina Cornell are an item. Valerie attends physical therapy seminar in Philadelphia, leaving Nick and Tina alone together. Nick gets Valerie to sign a contract giving him 50 percent of farm — but he wants it all. Joyce vows revenge when she thinks Ralph and Sandy are having an affair.

Although Ralph hasn't yet asked her, Joyce plans to leave Donald and go off with Ralph. Chris, realizing he tires easily, decides to retire. John suggests Jane take tax shelter on something other than cardiac unit. Upset with Jane's attitude toward cardiac unit, Dick calls her a selfish woman and ends their friendship. In Detroit, Jay ruins an important machinery deal for Hank. Grateful to Jenny for helping him when he was on a drunken binge, Kevin decides not to press charges for stolen watch and wallet. Melinda runs into Jeff at Annie's; later in talking to Beau she turns Jeff's innocent visit into a romantic meeting. Steve Farrell wants to join Hope Memorial Hospital if Barbara Ryan plans to stay in town.

Janice tells Joann that according to a conversation Hope overheard she is her mother; Joanne says Hope must have misunderstood. When Chris moves out of her apartment, Mary quits working for him. Julie is not thrilled by Doug's suggestion that they start a family.

Linda and Bob hire Stephanie Woodrow to head P.R. department, unaware Mary has already promised the job to Chris. Afraid that Maggie's drinking may cause Janice harm, Joann decides she must stay in Salem. Mickey tells Bob and Linda that Joann was the woman who kidnapped Janice; even so, Linda says she does not intend to fire Joann. Neil takes Dora to Doug's place. Pete and Donna make love but she is disappointed with her first experience. Teri invites Robert for dinner. Donna wonders where her mother has disapperred to. Marlena discovers Don and Donna have same blood type.

Maggie admits to Janice that Joann is her real mother. Linda lets Joann go. Telling Don he and Donna have same blood type, Marlena suggests tissue-typing test to prove paternity but says Lorraine must come to Salem to make the test valid. David takes Stephanie to the opening of Julie's shop and is surprised along with everyone else when Maggie gets drunk. Although Bob is pleased with Stephanie's performance at an ecological meeting, he tells Mary that if she wants a job at Anderson Mfg., she can have it. Amanda is upset when Greg says he will take the chief of staff post at Chicago hospital if it's offered. In a letter to his parents, Pete claims Neil has asked him to finish high school in Salem. Stephanie reminds several people of Brooke. Amy is interested in David.

Fearing Joann will try to kidnap Janice, a drunken Maggie takes Janice for a ride and gets in a bad accident. Janice sustains a concussion and Maggie is charged with drunken driving. Thinking it means Donna is getting over her feelings for Don, Marlena is relieved to learn that Pete and Donna are lovers. Margo and Mike admit they are in constant fear she may slip out of leukemia remission. Mickey tells Maggie she must face the fact that she is an alcoholic; she promises to stay away from liquor. Bob considers rehiring Chris after Green Oak project goes through.

The Doctors

Carolee helps Greta give birth to a baby daughter at the cabin. When Colin's bypass patient dies, Mike blames himself because Colin had hurt his hand in fight with him making it necessary for another surgeon to do the operation. He explains to Matt the reason he punched Colin was because Colin was saying that Sarah was jealous of Colin and M.J.'s relationship. Nola tells Jason she doesn't want him spending so much time with Doreen and that Doreen has other things in mind besides business. Steve fears Greta may be having post-natal medical problems; he and Maggie are uspet that Carolee delivered the baby without a doctor's presence.

When Greta contracts a dangerous infection, Matt and Maggie blame Carolee because she delivered baby in unsterile conditions. Nola is confused when Doreen says she wants to be friends and then asks Nola to accompany her and Jason on New York business trip. Sarah holds herself responsible for death of Colin's patient. M.J.'s evening of relaxation with Colin is spoiled when he wants to move from couch to bed.

Having recovered from her infection, Greta decides to take an apartment with Billy and her baby Lee Ann. Carolee is upset because no one called her about Greta's illness and because Steve regards her only a sexual object and not an equal. Doreen arranges a mixup with Nola's airplane tickets tor New York trip. Thinking Jason was in on it, Nola goes to bed with Colin. M.J. is floored when she visits Colin and finds Nola there. Mike is to be brought before the hospital board for his fistfight with Colin.

Doreen makes sure Jason finds Nola in Colin's arms. Disgusted, Jason tells Nola their marriage is over and he is going back to Texas, then accuses Doreen of enjoying the breakup of his marriage. When Doreen replies that she's dying, he says he couldn't care less. Aware that he can't afford to move into an apartment with Greta and the baby, Billy asks Carolee if they can move in with her and Steve. M.J. plans to transfer out of Colin's cardiac unit. Luke gets a brushoff from student nurse Missy Roberts.

The Edge Of Night

When Tony dies from wounds inflicted by Raney, Geraldine and Deborah go into mourning. D.A. Ira tells Logan he realizes that prosecuting April for Denise's murder is going to be unpopular and wonders what they should do about it. Raven goes to Logan's office, tosses out a picture of him and Winter kissing. Discovering the discarded photo, Raven says that Logan threw it out. Disbelieving her, Winter lets her know she and Logan are an item again. Deborah is suspended from police force.

April tells Draper that Raven claims to be carrying his baby. Swearing it isn't true Draper goes to Raven and warns her to keep away from April. But Raven pretends to April that Draper promised to do anything to help his baby. Distraught because she believes Raven and upset over being charged with first-degree murder, April disappears. While Deborah, on her own, is questioning a suspected wifebeater, he falls off the roof and is killed.

Mike attends Tony Saxon's funeral. Representing April for Denise's murder, Mike tells Draper that April's running away makes her look guilty. He plans to prove that Denise committed suicide. A large conglomerate buys TV station where Nicole is newscaster. Kevin, thinking Logan is the father of Raven's unborn child, considers doing away with himself. Deborah is disgruntled by two weeks' suspension from police force.

Wade Meacham, rich Margo Huntington's financial adviser, remembers Winter as star of porno flicks. Kevin is hoping the scandal about Tony Saxon will end his own political career, and lets Raven know he plans to divorce her after the baby is born. Miles fears Margo will print something about April's disappearance in her magazine. Margo is obviously interested in Miles. Tatoo on the shoulder of the dead girl floating in the river proves she is not April. Having had a vision of Draper in a car accident, April returns to Monticello and discovers the accident was minor. She goes on trial for Denise's murder. Deborah feels Steve's proposal of marriage may be out of sympathy, not love.

For Richer, For Poorer

Losing the will to live because she is paralyzed, Tessa pulls her I.V. out but a nurse discovers it in time. Tessa promises Sgt. D'Amico she won't do it again. Lee learns that Tessa is paralyzed. Craig Henderson, believing Austin had set him up with a call girl, refuses to discuss business matters with him. Aware that it was Jason who hired her, Austin intends to get even. When Colleen gets angry at her husband Roy for seeing Connie, he phones a Maria to come and keep him company. Laurie goes to New York to see Jason.

Tessa is taken out of intensive care unit, since doctors feel her paralysis may be only temporary. Fired from his job, Lee asks Sgt. D'Amico for help but is told he's on his own. Just as Bill is getting ready to tell Connie what happened prior to her accident, she admits her memory has been rehiring. She is upset because Bill doesn't respond when she asks if he loves her. Desmond decides to separate from Laurie. Amy's brother Chris joins hospital staff as an intern working under Dr. White. George learns he is most likely the reason Ellie is not pregnant but refuses to go to clinic for treatment. Amy is displeased because Austin is so dedicated to his work.

Laurie admits to Desmond she loves Jason. Jason is beginning to think he loves Megan. Tessa learns her paralysis is only temporary. Admitting to Les he has grown very fond of Tessa, Sgt. D'Amico is upset by Lee's return to Pointe Claire. Bill tells Connie he wants to try and make their marriage work. Josie takes job at Viola's antique shop.

Bill warns Roy White to stop giving Connie personal advice or he will go to the hospital board and charge him with violation of ethics. Desmond is angry because Viola covered up for Laurie and Jason. Dr. Ballard thinks that George's infertility will reverse itself. Paco wants to become a boxer. Laurie tells Desmond that she never slept with Jason. Lee returns to the hospital and sees Tessa walking. Lee is forced to leave Tessa because of his undercover identity. Connie decides that her new life would be without Bill. Megan can’t accept Jason’s excuses for his indifelity and she and Bill realize they still have a chance together.

Rick is also in New York looking for Laura so he can clear Lesley of murder charges. Lesley feels her marriage to Rick is over because she lied to him about killing David when it was Laura who pushed him. Collapsing at home, Diana regains consciousness only to discover she is blind. Heather takes a leave from hospital in order to take care of P.J.. Steve fears Jeff will flunk his medical boards because of the pressure of his marriage and Les’s trial.

In New York, Scotty and Bryan get Laura away from East Village pimp, and help police catch men who run prostitution ring comprised of teenage runaways. Although Rick really thinks Laura cannot remember what happened the night David was killed, she thinks he's only trying to trick her into confessing. Diana decides to undergo risky exploratory surgery which may answer question as to why she is blind. Fearful of dying, Diana tells Peter she wants to write a will that would make Jeff and Heather the legal guardians of P.J. if anything happens to her and Peter. Gary wants out of pediatrics so he can make money.

Admitting to Lesley she remembers everything, Laura fears what police will do. Hearing the true story of David's death, the judge agrees to find Lesley innocent and promises to go easy on Laura. Diana undergoes neurosurgery, and two benign tumors are found and removed. Doctors say it will be days before they know if she can see. Cal Jamison arrives in town and Jeff goes to see him. With Gina away, Tracy shows interest in Gary. Alan admits to Monica he is unable to curb his jealousy of Rick.

Jeff thinks Jamison has evidence proving Steven Lars didn't die; also thinks that Mrs. Hadley lied to Heather. Telling everything that happened the night David died, Laura awaits sentencing. With D.A. Richardson out of town, assistant D.A. feels Laura's trial will be important to his career. Believing the trial will be bad publicity for the hospital, Monica fears Rick may not be named as head of the cardiac unit, and implores Alan to talk to his boss Larry Forsythe. Alan agrees to go when he realizes she will go herself if he doesn't. Scotty tells Bobbie that if she can't understand his caring for Laura, they should end their relationship.

Elizabeth is upset over birthday gifts Alan and Jackie got for Philip — a train set too big for Elizabeth's apartment and a tree house to be built on the grounds of Alan's home. Alan tells Jackie he wants to get even with Elizabeth for her "immoral" behavior with Mike. Mike is furious over report that Elizabelh had a clandestine affair in Spain; he decides to go to Spain to prove Dean got his investigator to make up the whole story. When Katie badmouths Roger, Hillary threatens to move out. Rita prepares to spend a week with Ed in New York.

When Roger comes to Rita's apartment and makes innuendoes about her wanting him, she turns on him with a knife. When she puts the knife down to take a phone call from Ed, Roger exits. Upset because Rita had said he is unsure of himself as a man and the only woman he can get is a naive girl like Hillary, Roger starts drinking. Later at the apartment he sees Hilary, is abusive to her, then asks her to please leave. Confronting the Spanish detective over his wrong report that Elizabeht had an affair in Madrid, Mike talks him into agreeing to tell the truth at the custody hearing. Amanda's mother fears Amanda likes Ben.

Realizing she is in love with Ed, Holly plans to fight Rita for him. Ed is shocked when Holly, for the first time, says she loves him, and also reveals that message she had left for him before divorce proceedings suggesting reconciliation was apparently never delivered by Rita. Alan Spaulding tells Mike that, unbeknownst to Elizabeth, Philip is an adopted child — when Elizabeth's baby was born dead, Philip (up for adoption) was substituted. Alan warns Dean that if he loses the case for custody of Philip, Dean's law career is finished. A desperate Dean decides the only way to save his career is to kill the Spanish detective who is in Springfield to testify that Elizabeth did not have an affair in Madrid. Maya informs Peter she cannot leave her father or her life in the South Pacific to marry him. Amanda's husband Gordon Middleton wants reconciliation and blames her mother for split. Amanda is spellbound by the silhouette of Ben and Eve about to make love.

Fearing Ed might change his mind about her in New York, Rita joins him a day early. Roger and Holly are becoming close friends. Mike believes Dean and Alan were involved in the death of Spanish detective, Ramon deVilar. Roger overhears conversation between Dean and Alan about Philip's custody suit and about deVilar. With Ramon dead Mike is unable to refute document which claims Elizabeth had an affair in Madrid. Peter returns from South Pacific without Maya, and later, while tipsy, thinks Brandy resembles Maya. Brandy is upset by the discovery that Justin is dating others and seems interested in Elizabeth. Elizabeth admits to Jackie that she loves Mike.

Sheree persuades Tom to join her at the Sirocco. When Arlene spots Tom there, she gets Ray to take him home. Betsy asks Ben how he could have discussed intimate details of their marriage in his novel. Andrew tells Andy he should get job, start paying him back the money he lent him for car. Andy, persuading Mary to let him sleep on her couch, borrows $200 from her. Van tells Andrew she's ready to go away with him.

Meg tells Bruce she has learned that Van and Andrew plan to go way together. Andy asks Mary to pawn an expensive diamond and sapphire ring, but is enraged when she shows the ring to a patient who is also a jeweler. Betsy accuses Mia of relishing the story Ben told about Betsy in his novel. Lynn is off to Canada to visit Cal and Rick and tells Van regardless of what has happened with Bruce, Lynn still loves and respects both of them.

Bruce goes to the airport looking for Van, unaware that she has decided she cannot go away with Andrew. Returning home, he finds Van sleeping in bed and lies down next to her. When she awakens, Bruce promises never to leave her again. Bambi asks Arlene whether she is going to leave Ray. If she is, then Bambi will turn down marriage proposal from Ted Porter. Comforting Andrew, Meg tells him she knows that Van and Bruce have reconciled and that he can always turn to her. Mia goes to a cocktail party for Ben's book. Tom calls Arlene.

Joe practices asking Wendy to marry him, but she turns the tables by proposing to him instead. Tom tells Arlene they should get back together; she hesitates because she doesn't want to hurt Ray. Elliot informs Betsy that if Ben doesn't visit Suzanne at prescribed times Ben can no longer visit her. Andy prpmises his father he will repay the $7,000 for his sports car in one week. Andrew tells Bruce that Van is the only woman he'll ever care for. Sherree learns that Renter is Andy Marriott.

When Ed goes into cardiac arrest, Jack saves his life by using an external pacemaker. Carla fears the four minutes Ed was without oxygen may have cause brain damage. Brad asks Dr. Pamela Shepherd to be his therapist. Tina thinks Viki must have known her boyfriend in California was dating her best friend but was hiding facts from her. Marco plans to get even with Viki through Tina, seeks Tina out at pizza parlor. Pat fends off Huddelston's advances, tells Roger she will quit the show if Huddleston ever comes near her. Viki warns Richard to keep away from the story about Marco's massage parlor unless he has proof — otherwise he's asking for trouble as well as a libel suit for the Banner. Paul is delighted by the way Dorian refurnished his apartment.

Paul is put off by seeing an understanding Dorian change into a "dragon lady." Richard and Becky Lee refuse Dorian's offer to have their wedding at her home, which upsets Dorian because she had made the offer only at the request of Richard's mother Gwen who had hoped Dorian might do something to stop the nuptials. Marco tells Tina that Viki once suffered from multiple personality and asks her not to let Joe and Viki know he is seeing her. Jenny is upset because church tribunal puts hold on her annulment from Brad. Rejected by Jenny, Brad considers robbing a bank. Karen is upset by seeing Larry and Cathy together, takes an overdose of pills. Will and Pam are engaged.

Richard squirms when his mother Gwen arrives in Llanview. Gwen pretends to adore Becky Lee but is working to make sure they never get married. Finding a semiconscious Karen in a hotel room, Larry saves her life. After Paul accuses her of being selfish and manipulative, Dorian decides to drop out of the competition for chief of hospital staff. Pat and Paul become friends. Adam Brewster, head of a multi-billion-dollar corporation, is interested in Pat and Edwina. Ed is made police captain.

Samantha wants to move out of Will's and into Tony's, but when Tony rejects her, she runs out into the rain and gets in a car accident. Brad and Jenny are brought closer together by Samantha's accident. Larry, about to be named chief of hospital staff, wonders if his future position will be too much for Karen. Edwina is surprised when Adam Brewster asks to meet her. Melinda scares Karen with her stories of a lonely doctor's wife. Ed fears he cannot hold Carla's interest the way a more sophisticated person like Jack Scott can.

Tom is angry that Faith had called Pat's name during the miscarriage of her baby. Tom goes to gym for boxing workout, demolishes sparring partner. Dee makes $2,000 on commodities market in one week and all Roger can do is tell her to sell — she disagrees. Mary is amazed to learn that Rae truly loves Frank. Mary and Siobhan write a gag press release which discusses Edmund's illegitimacy and Frank's other past indiscretions; through a mixup the release is sent out to the newspapers. Edmund is released from hospital.

Siobhan is able to get a phony release back from tough reporter Wes Leonard and manages to have some fun in the process. A delirious Faith lets it slip to Tom that she accidentally stabbed herself while on houseboat with Pat. Faith starts recovering. Frank wins primary. Seneca reassures Jill that he will always be there when she needs him.

Dee accepts Roger's wedding proposal and selects a gawdy, five-carat diamond engagement ring. Faith decides it's best that Pat not visit her in hospital because she wants to try and salvage her marriage to Tom. Tom is concerned because he continues to see Theresa. Jill and Seneca make love. Pat is worried because Nancy Feldman's leg still shows signs of weakness. Dee is frightened when Tom goes on furniture-smashing rampage.

After reading the pre-nuptial agreement drawn up by Seneca, Jill agrees to marry him. Realizing she may never dance again because she began exercising too soon, Nancy gets a job with Frank's campaign. On a newscast Siobhan blurts out that Frank has two sons and Maeve must cover up. Mary fires Siobhan from the campaign. Tom overhears Faith telling Pat she loves him, but leaves before hearing Faith say she plans to make her marriage to Tom work. About to be discharged from the hospital, Faith doesn't go along with Tom's desire to start a family right away. Dee wants Roger to let Tom and Faith have his small apartment so they can move to larger quarters, allowing little John to live with them.

Meeting David by chance, Scott tells him he'd better watch out. At the Inn, a drunken Scott tells Tom he's going to get even with David. Later, Chance discovers Scott passed out in his car in the Inn's parking lot, gets in car and runs David down. Following surgery, David remains in a coma. Picked up by police, Scott has no recollection of what happened, says he wants no legal counsel and specifically requests Kathy not be allowed to see him. Donna and Lonnie grow closer. In an attempt to learn something about Janet's corporation, Laine tries to sublet Liza's apartment, but pretends to Janet she knows about her own father's business. Kylie quits her job at the Inn when Stu tells Kylie that Chance is the kind of man who would have run down David.

Just as Chance is about to kill David, Donna enters hospital room. Despite his claim that he was there only to see how David was, she tells him she knows it was he (and not Scott) who was responsible for David's accident. Fearing Chance may make another try if she leaves town, Donna puts off Lonnie's proposal of marriage till David is better. Liza and Laine become roommates. Learning that Liza is bitter toward Gary because he lied about Steve's illness, Laine plans to use the information to get closer to Liza to learn more about Collins family. Stephanie suggests that John run against Ted Adamson, Laine's father, for city council. Kathy tells John (Scott's friend and lawyer) the only thing Scott could have had against David was his affair with Kathy. In jail, Scott realizes he still loves Kathy but is unable to erase knowledge that he is not baby Doug's father.

Chance pulls David's respirator out, but it is discovered in time and David is saved. Suspicious of Chance, Donna goes to police. Aware that things are closing in on him, Chance knows his relationship with Janet won't work out, even though he truly loves her. Coming out of coma, David tells Lt. Frank that he was run down purposely. Laine manages to patch things up between Gary and Liza by inviting them to a dinner party. When Kylie agrees to return to the inn, Tom drops the idea of quitting school.

Just as Chance and Jane aret about to marry, Texas Rangers arrive and arrest Chance for attempt to murder David. Released from jail Scott tells Kathy he is not Doug's father and that, although he loves her and Eric, he must leave Kathy because he can never look at Doug without seeing David. Kylie feels Chance is the only person she could ever rely on and with him gone she is all alone. Tom assures Kylie she has him. Learning that John intends to run for city council, Laine digs up newspaper stories from the time when John stood trial for the murder of his wife Eunice. Donna and Lonnie leave Henderson to marry and settle in Tennessee.

With Derek at her side, Kay is released from the hospital. Though he says he loves her, Greg gives Linda advice on how to save her marriage with Larry. Larry admits to Linda that he also had felt trapped in their marriage — having to work and support a family and fight the feeling he wasn't getting anywhere — but he was frightened when she decided to change her life, and now would like to avoid a divorce. Lorie tells Lance she can handle being both a celebrity and a mother, and decides she wants to have a child. Leslie and Lucas spread the word they want to start a family as soon as possible. When Lorie discovers her two-way mirror, Vanessa plots to keep Lorie quiet.

Even though she managed to keep Stuart away from Liz's surprise birthday dinner for him, Jill is upset to realize he might have been happier spending the evening with her mother. Nikki refuses Casey's offer to pay for her college, saying she has no plans for going to school. Nikki’s friend Patti tells Scott that Nikki really likes him but feels cheap because Paul called her a tramp who has given half the town VD. To prove to her that she is not promiscuous, Scott makes a pass at Nikki feeling certain she will turn him down; then she changes her mind and asks him to stay — but only as a friend. A depressed Kay returns home with Derek, but gets furious when Brock suggests she can do something to help herself if she wishes.

Just as Snapper begins to show his feelings for Casey, Chris returns and wants to pick up their marriage where she left it. Snapper tells her he doesn't know if that's possible. Stuart accuses Jill of knowing her mother was planning surprise party for him when she insisted on taking him to a dinner, then decides he must be mistaken. Kay starts turning toward religion. Nikki decides she'll go to college.

Jill does everything she can do to break up the date between Liz and Stuart. Lorie and Snapper are hoping Liz and Stuart's date will lead to a sexual encounter. When the Maestro suggests that Leslie and Lucas await her baby at his Swiss villa, so no one can count the months, they agree. Chris tells Snapper she can't make a decision until he makes a decision about Casey.

On AW, late Gretchen Oehler started as Vivien in June 1978 so she was already on the show at the time but was still a very minor character.

I was wondering the same about the ending of "For Richer, For Poorer". I didn't find anything about when exactly NBC decides to pull the plug on the soap. Maybe Tessa walking again was the ending scene.

I think Slesar's work on SFT was not bad at all on paper. The Chance / Kylie / Donna stuff was refreshing and Ted Adamson was a great addition. The death of Steve Kaslo was probably very emotionnal. Don't know if Michael Nouri was fired or wanted to leave.
