OLTL: James and Ford Spoiler

In the July 12th prevue for OLTL, it states that Inez Salinger gives the $50,000 to a nurse to pay for her sons', James' and Ford's, hospital bills. I find this interesting only because I like both Ford brothers and Inez.

Gotcha. So she had Ford when she was pushing 10. IIII see. Oh right, so this means that the Ford brothers are half boricua. Who says there isn't racial diversity in Lla-Lla-Llanview?

Wow guys, THREE brothers, a mom, and a dad any week now, an insta-family. So far, Ford's abs have put four actors into work.

I'm not sure how this makes Jessica Leccia feel (well, beyond being happy to have a job!) -- all her kids are 30 years old and none of them can act. This has been a nothing role. Since she is playing an older woman, how long before she's killed off (perhaps taking a bullet for Nathesulah)?

This is so ridiculous. Is there any better example of how misogyny is seen as being hot stuff? Ford's very ugly behavior towards pathetic Langston is rewarded with an entire family and with Ford being passed off as the show's new star.

I can easily ignore logic and common sense while watching the soaps but this is ridiculous.

Jessica Leccia looks her age which is not even 35 (I think)

I will laugh so hard the first time Ford calls her Mama (please let there be lots of inappropriate chemistry, that is the only way I'll ever enjoy this scenario  )

What a nasty thing to say about the O'Neill sisters. At least they were all related from the start, and Connie and Didi seemed OK. I've only ever seen the second Joy, who seemed to have some kind of stupido vibe.

They remind me more of the Santi.

 It just seems odd to me, the concept of THREE same-sex sibings brought on the scene at relatively the same time, like the O'Neill sisters. But totally, I would have of course preferred them.

So is Nate's last name Salinger too? I'd peg him as the middle child based on looks and I'm assuming he's Robe..., Bobby and James' half-brother. I guess we'll see how that all went down. Love child mid-marriage, passed the kid off as Mr. Ford's at first, got found out, took Nate and ran off with Salinger guy leaving Bobby and James to fend for themselves, Bobby to have no respect for women, major guilt for Inez...

Eli probably ran her off the road while he was driving underage, and she fled in terror because he shot her car with a paintball or dropped a bowling ball on her car or whatever those brats on Picket Fences did.

Inez/Ford officially unseats Dixie/JR as the mother/son pairing requiring the most suspension of disbelief.

I don't know any actress with a better excuse to let herself go and party like a rock star. They keep casting her like she's Elaine Stritch.

I thought Jessica Leccia was 40. The way she looked when she first appeared on OLTL made her look older. Hey, if I could use to Dante/Olivia on GH, then I could get use to this.

And why do people think the actor who plays Nate is 30? lol I cant seem to find the age of either Lenny Platt nor Nic Robuck.

    • No question that DAYS has the lowest budget of all the soaps. The only way to overcome that is with good writing, which we are getting on DAYS as of late. More movement? I have to agree. DAYS just feels like it has more energy and actual physical movement among the characters. Scene after scene on Y&R is with two characters sitting at a restaurant table or on a couch having a conversation. It's static -- and it's lazy.
    • JC memoirs Not Young Still Restless she writes negatively about some people. VR memoirs The Women Who Raised Me from what I remember did not really delve into her time on Y&R. VR "novels" Secrets of a Soap Opera Diva and The Young and the Ruthless: Back in the Bubbles its pretty clear who some of the characters are based on.
    • -- I agree that they've taken Leslie's camp as far as they can take it. That works only if there's also a real character there, and we're not seeing that. Every scene with her is game-playing. -- Laura couldn't call IT to have that Notes program straightened out? I get it -- we need to see that Eva is desperately needed, even though she was hired with nothing on her resume that told us she was a tech wiz. But the only person Laura could think of to call was Eva??? -- I would feel more sympathetic to Eva if she didn't continue to cover for her mother, essentially playing both sides. Again, I get it -- we need to see a daughter traumatized by a lifetime of control by her nutjob mother. Still, there's nothing about Leslie that Eva should side with at this point. -- I had to LOL when Anita said she has to call her agent to call off the reunion concert. Huh??? You mean a concert was planned and scheduled even though we haven't heard these three sing a single damn note together?  -- Are we supposed to be taking Anita's side in this Anita vs Sharon battle? Because I'm not there. One day Anita is sad, despondent, and regretful, and the next she's firing back at Sharon and Tracy that "You two are as much to blame as I am."  -- I agree that we need to see the help hired by the wealthy on this show. It's a missed opportunity. -- I continue to like Keith D Robinson as Ted. I think he has more chemistry with Daphnee Duplaix than Maurice Johnson did.

    • The highest rated soap seemingly has the smallest budget. Days has more sets and movement than Y&R and they haven’t had a budget in YEARS. Also their business stories bother me significantly less than Y&R as they actually mention what their companies do from time to time and it doesn’t eat the show.
    • I hate to say it, but same. I gave the recast a chance, but I don't love the change his acting style has brought to the character.  I agree that Maurice needed to develop his craft, especially with the delivery of the more emotional stuff, but he didn't need to be recast. NuTed feels like a punk and too soft.
    • I’m still enjoying Leslie personally. It’s actually fascinating to see her so fear less about getting caught. I don’t even think she comprehends how Eva just saved her ass. Also her interactions with Kat and Jacob entertain me. She has great antagonistic chemistry with both of them. I agree on both accounts.  I have zero connection or interest in the character now. He comes off as such a wimp to me.
    • BY FAR the weakest episode of the past week+. -- Even a change in writers cannot make Leo work as a character. Dialing back on his personality isn't enough -- he's still insufferable. Every scene he was in reminded me of why I grew to hate Carlivati. -- Chad couldn't make a longer obituary on John a go with a single phone call? So stupid. -- Jack and Jennifer should have called in their regrets the way Hallmark Sami did. I got nothing from them today and felt nothing. -- Jack slobbering the praise on Leo for his work at the paper was pathetic.
