Tom Welling auditioned for Adam Newman in 2014 but Justin Hartley wound up getting casted.

You mean to tell me that I could have been seeing Tom Welling. Everyday?!

Was it not heavily rumoured when GH was recasting Carly when Tamara Braun left that Sarah Buxton and Galen Gering's wife Jenna were the front runners to secure the role? The casting of Jennifer Bransford was very surprising after these two names were banded about but I have to wonder if they knew all along that Laura Wright would be leaving GL in the coming months and wanted a placeholder Carly who maybe wouldn't be as well received to make the transition to Wright more welcomed by fans.

I recently heard that Jamie Luner was another one in the running and I could get behind that. Then I heard recently her name was mentioned when YR recast Phyllis. I feel like she would have been the perfect choice for Phyllis! Gina Tognoni is good, but I think Jamie Luner would have just brought something special.

Don't know if this has been mentioned before.

Gloria Monty called Anthony Geary  to test for Mitch Williamsas he had worked with him on Bright promise and a late night ABC Mystery Movie, but they felt he was too young. A few weeks later he was called back to test for Luke Spencer.

I agree! I guess TPTB thought she was too old to play the mother of a 29 year-old...

Oh brother. I'm sure you're right. I really wish it had happened though. Then we wouldn't be dealing with Billy/Phyllis.

in 1994, AW was discussing bringing Sandy Cory back. Kin Shriner was approached but Sandy never returned to Bay City

Terry Davis tested for the role of Delilah on OLTL after playing April on EON for 4 years. She said in an old SOD interview she really wanted that role, but they went with someone completely different (Shelly Burch) She then went on to land the role of Stacey on AW.

Before casting Coltin Scott /Stephen Martinez as Tony Santos in 2003, Guiding light was also considering OLTL's David Fumero for the role.

Does anyone know if Joseph Campanella was considered for the role of C.C. Capwell on Santa Barbara?  I do know that the late Lloyd Bochner was originally cast as C.C. but had to bow out due to health issues.

I dont think so although he would have been better than Peter Mark Richman & Paul Burke
