Ohh - I didn't realize that, but based on timing, my guess would be Hayley?  Kelly Ripa came in with jet black hair and was a punk.  I could see that with Shannen.  90210 started around the same time, so not sure. I can't think of another new teen before Hayley.

There was also Hilary and Cecily, but I'm not sure if Shannen was on Our House around that point.

While I would love for Shannen to have auditioned for Hayley, I think she would have already been attached to 90210 by the time that character was introduced. During 1988-89, after Our House ended, Shannen could also have read for the recast Emily Ann, Katie Kennicott, or Lanie Cortlandt.

Too bad she didn't audition for Kendall.

Dirges all around.

It might have been interesting seeing her as Emily Ann.

Two of the three ladies in those parts would go on to be primetime TV staples in the '90s.

Julie Benz (Darla, BTVS/Angel) auditioned with SMG for the role of Kendall Hart on All My Children

Source for this? Especially since Benz was already on AMC as Linda Connor.

Oh, I think Benz would have been all wrong for Kendall.  Terrific actress, but not at all what I'd picture Erica's long-lost daughter to be.

In a 1976 interview Joan Prather {Janet Eight is Enough} says she turned down the role of Allison McKenzie on Return to Peyton Place. Also Kotter's wife on Welcome Back Kotter.

Erika Slezak talks about auditioning for Mary Kennicott on AMC - the casting director did not believe she was right for the part but asked her to audition anyway because they wanted her on tape.

I miss Kim so much in Daytime. Maybe she will pop up on BTG at some point? she can be Vanessa's mom maybe?

My other choice would have been as a recast Tawny on B&B since Andrea Evans has sadly passed, but I don't trust the show to do her justice. haha

Andrea Evans died?! No idea how I missed that but I did.

Kassie DePaiva Reflects on 'One Life to Live's Cancellation & Todd and Blair’s Ending (Exclusive)

Kassie mentions that she auditioned for Amanda on Another World in 1993.

She could have played that & played it well. However, AW in 1993 was a pretty stressful place to be plus the whole cast was politicized, savvy to the things going on, especially involving NBC and P&G basically engaging in warfare behind the scenes. That pattern would go on & be repeated with P&G versus CBS. All bad corporate behavior does not go unpunished but those feeling it the worst are the least responsible.

Holly Gagnier (ex-Jennifer, GH, et al.) just revealed her casting was a last-minute replacement for Sherilyn Fenn (Twin Peaks), who had to drop out, due to a family emergency
