LOVING:

Isabelle kicks Clay out of the Alden mansion, exclaiming, "I no longer consider you part of the family." Clay claims he's innocent, since Cabot confessed, but Isabelle's not buying it. She trusts Trisha's word first. After Clay asks Gwyn for a loan, she has her earrings from Dane appraised and learns they're worthless. Dane tries to cover, and Gwyn suspects Norma stole the earrings and substituted fakes.

In Cabot's videotaped will, he reveals that all of the Aldens are to share in the estate, including Clay. Normally, complete control of the estate would go to his son. However, circumstances have changed. The codicil says Clay will only become Head of Alden Enterprises if he remarries Gwyneth within thirty days of Cabot's death. Cabot's final words to his family are, "God, bless you."

PAUL'S DEADLY SHOWDOWN:

A.Z. and Ramirez agree to have Carly rubbed out. But Paul foils their attempt by overpowering the hitman. When A.Z. and Ramirez show up, they're shocked to see Carly alive. Paul reveals that Carly witnessed General Ramirez killing A.Z.'s son. A.Z's shocked; he wrongly believed the rebels had killed Anthony. Carly reveals Ramirez shot Anthony when he turned down a deal to double-cross A.Z. The mobster pulls a gun on Ramirez. But little does A.Z. or Ramirez know that Paul has tipped off Alex and the police. They're arrested and thrown in jail.

Paul's assets are confiscated, which include the Off-Limits club and casino. He's willing to turn state's evidence if the charges against him are dropped. Alex warns him about the mob wanting revenge, but Slavinsky's determined to stay in town.

Paul kicks Carly out of the suite, but she has nowhere to turn. She confesses to Ava that she never had Paul. Kate takes Carly back into her home with open arms once she learns mobsters were threatening Carly's life.

A NEW LIFE:

Alex shocks Egypt by offering to leave town together to patch up their marriage. Alex consoles a distressed Ava, insisting that although he'll always have feelings for her, he loves Egypt. They say good-bye.

A.Z's named for Ralph Barnes' murder. Paul tries to win back Ava, admitting he never stopped loving her. He kisses Ava to prove he's not giving up.

CALLING IT QUITS:

Alex gives Rio his green card. With the thugs behind bars, Rio can finally tell Rocky the truth. Meanwhile, Rocky pleads with Professor Brad Spencer to let her back into the med program. He agrees to review her case with the board. In her excitement, Rocky gives Brad a peck on the cheek. He suddenly pulls her toward him for a real kiss. Rocky's shocked and reminds him she's married. Later, Rio tells Rocky about going undercover at Off-Limits. Instead of being thrilled, Rocky's furious Rio lied to her. Later, Rio goes to talk to Professor Spencer about the pressure he's put on Rocky. Misunderstanding, Brad apologizes for kissing Rocky. Rio's speechless. After another argument with Rio, Rocky says she's going to file for an annulment.

SLEAZY MONTY WANTS MONEY:

Monty stuns Abril when he demands she give him five thousand dollars or he'll reveal he's not the father of her baby. Rocky makes a deal with Monty: She'll pay him if he tells Abril he changed his mind about blackmailing her. Amazingly, Rocky convinces Clay to help Abril with a loan.

Ava overhears Carly talking to Abril about when she got pregnant. When confronted, Carly lies to Ava that she had an abortion.

Hoping to use Gwyn to get to the Alden fortune, Dane wants her to go for a "marriage of convenience" with Clay. But Gwyn's not game. Still, Dane intends to play mediator and strikes a deal with Clay to get Gwyn to comply. The deal includes a million dollars for Dane and stock in AE.

Gwyn has Norma and Wally arrested for stealing her earrings. Wally's horrified when he realizes they've put him in the same cell as his brother, Denny.

TRAGEDY STRIKES TRISHA:

Clay tries to plead his case, but an incensed Trisha is unforgiving. In a fit of rage, she pulls the phone cord out of the wall. As soon as he leaves, she has premature labor pains. Later, Trucker finds Trisha, who is near unconsciousness. Because he can't get Trisha to a hospital due to the snowstorm, trucker has to help her deliver the baby. She gives birth to a son, but there's a complication-Trisha's bleeding too much. McKenzie braves the snow and carries them to the hospital. The doctors are able to save Trisha, but not the baby. When Trisha regains consciousness, Trucker tearfully tells her the tragic news. McKenzie blames himself, and so does Clay. Unfortunately, Trisha suffers from a condition that will make it impossible for her to have another child. She could get pregnant, but wouldn't be able to carry a baby to term. Once Gwyn hears this, she goes for blood by attacking Clay with a letter opener. He disarms her. Later, at Cabot's funeral, Alex gives a loving eulogy. Shana doesn't show up.

ONE LIFE TO LIVE

Max pretends to want to reconcile with Gabrielle to get info on Carlo. He wants the truth about why Carlo videotaped her and Tony, and reminds Gabrielle he gave her an alibi for Johnny's murder. She suspects he's looking for ammo to use in a custody fight for Al and kicks him out.

CARLO FIGHTS DIRTY:

Jake returns a copy of the Niki Smith tape to Carlo's hiding place. Later, Chad and Carlo trick Viki into going into the movie studio. While playing the tape of Niki killing Johnny, Viki struggles with Niki. Hiding in the control booth, Carlo taunts Viki. As she hears Niki shoot Johnny, she screams, refusing to let Niki win. She runs out and immediately informs Jake about Carlos's ploy. Frustrated, Carlo gives Gabrielle a vial of Nat Olanov's drug. The liquid will make Viki susceptible to suggestion, he says. A mortified Gabrielle has no choice but to do Carlo's bidding.

MAX'S DOWNFALL:

Cord and Tina return to Llanview with their new daughter and Du Ann. At Llanview, Gabrielle's shocked to see Du Ann, who doesn't reveal their relationship to the Buchanans. Still, Gabrielle, knows Du Ann has something up her sleeve.

Andy and Tony draw closer, much to the chagrin of Bishop McGuire, who reminds Tony that his leave of absence from the priesthood is about to expire.

THRICE WED:

At the Buchanan place, Cord and Tina are married in a small, family ceremony. Before the champagne toast, Gabrielle empties the drug into her glass, then gives it to Viki. As Jake spies this, he suspects foul play. He warns Viki, but not before she has one sip. They deftly switch glasses and Viki openly drains the rest of Jake's glass. Alex tests the champagne and proves it's been drugged with Nat's formula. Testing to see if the drug is working, Gabrielle asks a confused Viki to hand over her earrings. Viki does, then goes outside to Carlo's limo, where he asks to meet Niki Smith. When Viki returns to the party, she shocks Megan when she's all over Hunter.

Megan's horrified when Viki admits she's Niki. Carlo's satisfied with the results and rewards Gab with ten grand in cash. Back at Llanfair, Viki confides to Jake and Clint she's only pretending to be Niki. Latter, Carlo orders Gabrielle to bring Niki to him. Viki anticipates this, and once Gab lures her to Carlo, he hands "Niki" a gun. Before he confides his plan, Clint finds their location. Carlo hides as Viki greets Clint, then returns with him.

MEGAN IS CARLO'S TARGET?:

Jake obtains the divorce papers for Charlotte. Megan stumbles upon this fact, furious that Jake didn't tell her personally. Hunter implores Jake to leave Megan alone; he's driving her crazy. Jake agrees on one condition: that Hunter swear he won't let Megan out of his sight. He confides in Hunter that Megan may be one of Carlo Hesser's prime targets. Since the film shooting is over, Hunter wants Megan to accompany him to Hollywood- for good. She agrees and tells a sad Jake.

GABRIELLE SAVES ASA:

When Du Ann demands ten thousand dollars from Gabrielle to keep quiet about Max's true parentage, Gabrielle is forced to hand over her hefty payoff from Carlo. Later, Du Ann coldly demands even more money from Gabrielle.

Gabrielle has a run-in with with Asa at the stable, where she says she wishes he were dead. In anger, Asa kicks a beam, and debris falls on him. Gabrielle leaves behind an unconscious Asa. Her conscience over comes her, though, and she tries to help Asa. Once she frees Buchanan and they exit the stable, it collapses.

MOVING ON TOO SOON:

During the christening of Cord and Tina's baby girl, they reveal they're naming her Sarah. Bo and Megan are touched.

Alex is surprised when Bo asks her out on a date. When she hesitates, he pulls her to him and kisses her. Later, they're awkward with each other. A talk with Megan at Sarah's gravestone convinces Bo to let go of the past. He tells Alex about his feelings and goes for another kiss. She responds until he slips, "Oh, Sarah."

NIKI SHOOTS MEGAN:

Visiting Viki, Jake hides when Megan arrives to say good-bye to "Niki". Viki/Niki wishes her luck. Jake fumes until Viki explains it's for Megan's safety. But Jake's determined to see Megan one more time and races to the airport. He pulls Megan into an embrace, but Hunter punches Harrison. Once Carlo learns about Megan and Hunter leaving town, he orders Chad to stop them. Chad lies to Hunter that they have to re-shoot some scenes.

At the movie set, Carlo tells "Niki" he wants her to shoot someone. She calls to warn Jake, but Carlo catches her. He knows she's Viki, and Carlo injects her with Nat's drug. Niki returns. Carlo gives Niki the gun to shoot Megan, who has arrived with Hunter. Niki fights it, but the drug's too powerful. Jake and Hunter call out just as Niki shoots Megan.
