"Surprise, Mama's home!"

JANET!!!

Overall I thought it was a good show today.

I liked the Damon/Tad scenes. This actor who plays Damon is actually growing. I think hes a lot better then he was when he just first appeard.

I also enjoyed seeing Opal agian. Glad we got the Palmer mention! :D

I'm annoyed at how they just drag Janet out as a one note psycho and use her as a plot device. Its so annoying and over played. I'm over it and not excited to see her. Cant we get a happy medium between complete psycho and a Marissa-like Janet? It is possible...

The guy who plays Damon is definitely improving as an actor, but the character is approaching ridiculous. He snaps for no apparent reason, and him all in Liza's face was too over the top. Nothing Liza said warranted that kind of response. I have ADHD, and I laugh when I see this guy's portrayal of the disorder.

Frankly, that plot point has always made me feel itchy. As far as I knew, Robin Mattson's Janet never required medication, just security and understanding. Yet, I'm supposed to believe her "good years" were all due to meds? GMAB. It made more sense for Trevor to fall in love with her!

My thoughts exactly!

I love how crazy Janet's acting and the freezer line was priceless.

I think EricMontreal and I are the only ones who are enjoying the Tad/Damon story, but I thought their scenes today were really good.

I was surprised to see Opal in such a small scene with Jake. I was expecting her to pop up later to support Erica, but I prefer having her on for herself, not as a prop.

David's blackmailing Madison was good too, imo.

Here's a clip of Robin's take on crazy Janet and her desperation to be with Amanda. I much preferred this version

Since Janet has her old face back and not a soul has made mention of it, I hardly think they care if RM's Janet needed pills to maintain her sanity.

Not to sound like a bitch, but does there ALWAYS have to be a Kate Collins vs. Robin Mattson debate, "I wish it was RM instead of KC", WHENEVER Kate comes back as JFAP???

Mattson is never coming back. Deal with it already.

I am so glad Janet is back! Loved every minute of her scenes, Kate Collins commanded the screen and gave a great performance! I am really looking forward to what happens next. I had to watch the episode twice because I couldn't stop laughing hysterically during all of Janet's scenes! I was way to excited lol. Love her!

Those Ryan\Brot scenes were absolutely NAUSEATING. The show has been putting Ryape opposite different people lately (Liza, Randi, Tad, Madison..) and it is just NOT working. He looks stupid with them...now Brot...ugh. Their little pep talk had no depth, and WTH does Ryan know about fighting a war? Those scenes really were a mess, and to top it off, they took place in that dastard casino!

I am enjoying Tad and Damon as well...I think this storyline is great, up there with my favorites on AMC right now. I love it, and both actors are doing great. Finn Wittrock (Damon) has been improving each step of the way, and MEK is doing fantastic with everything given to him.

I thought she wrote a strong script today....really good. I like her take on Tad\Damon. Little mentions of history with Opal, Palmer, Erica, Janet. I loved that. I'm looking forward to more of her scripts.

I agree. I thought he was pretty pointless in the beginning, and obviously more accustomed to stage work as he seemed a little stiff and stilted with the blocking when he first started. It's a miracle, JY isn't bothering the hell out of me like he used to either, I don't know what happened. I like to think that he's grown as a person in real life. I don't claim to know these people personally, but I tend to believe that you can get a lot out of the vibes folks give off in interviews as well as what filters through their onscreen personas. Crystal Hunt would be another example.

Well, you do sound like a bitch. RM and KC portray Janet in two extremely different ways. The two actresses' individual takes on the character affects people. If someone likes a character because of the way one actress portrayed her, and then the character comes back portrayed in a different manner by a different actress, the viewers have a right to complain about it. ESPECIALLY if they continue to bring back the actress whose portrayal of a once favorite character is something they dislike! Who wants to see a character they once liked CONTINUE to be portrayed in a way they don't like?

My personal opinion? I think Kate Collins' Janet over the last five years does a great disservice to the work Robin Mattson put in as Janet.

Love Kate Collins. One of the best villains All My Children has ever had. Can you imagine if Billy Clyde Tuggle and Janet from Another Planet procreated?

I really liked the comparisons Erica made with her own life/modeling with Amanda's.

Kate Collins vs. Robin Mattson. Both are great actresses. When Robin took over the role, the character went in a different direction in that Janet was reforming her life. I didn't mind that. What I absolutely HATED was the fact that Trevor fell in love with her. Despite Janet's commitment to become a better person, there is no way in hell that Trevor would fall in love with her after what Janet did to Natalie. I could handle people coming back from the dead and long lost children, but Trevor and Janet coming together as a couple I could not get on board with. I despised the Dillons once they became the Brady Bunch.

    • Yeah, not sure why Jack and Jen didn’t rush to Marlena - or even Carrie - to offer their condolences. A few flashbacks would've been a nice touch too. Instead, we got a whole episode of them talking about Chad and Abby? Come on. On the bright side, I loved Anna’s scenes with Marlena and Carrie - sweet and heartfelt, felt like a real 80s throwback.
    • Martin and Smitty were designed to avoid the stereotype of gay men sleeping around (which to an extent is true). If you recall Martin had a line about them not being open when Chelsea came to talk to him. The producers are walking a very fine line right now and it might not be popular to say but I can understand it. Establishing enough footing to ward off complaints will let them showcase gay characters more openly later.
    • The week was decent. They have started to rotate their stories and finally got a rhythm going. I disagree about them allowing every character to have a moment to shine though. Nicole really hasn't been given anything to do. I completely agree with all this. I adore Doug and hope he makes it through.

Question for the B&B group: I see @rsclassicfanforever has uploaded multiple seasons from Videoland  (in the folders that are to be put away). They are huge folders and difficult to download so I started breaking them down into months but I realized they are by season so for example, Season 4 spans from March 1990 to March 1991. Now I'm wondering where to actually place them, since we have the Full Episodes section divided by year, not seasons. And most of these seasons we already have in full, so these are duplicates. Not sure if it's necessary to keep the older versions. I could just make another new section for Seasons, so the main folders would be "Behind the Scenes and Interviews," "Clips," "Full Episodes," "Full Seasons," "Music CDs," and "photo archive Marquise" but I'm not sure that really makes sense. Also wondering since we have almost every full episode now if "Clips" can be deleted in its entirety, as it's nearly 300GB.
    • CBS moving Murder, She Wrote from Sunday to Thursday was straight up sabotage. Les Moonves knew exactly what he was doing.
    • I sure hope you’re right. The lack of sets is maddening!
